I was 16 years old when I found Nationstates in 2004 (hence the name 'the poo dynasty'... erm, yeah).
I'm 30 now.
Along the way, I think I was a dick to most everyone here at some point in my career, particularly in my late teenage years (sorry about that). My first three years in the game were spent spinning tires as a younger and dumber version of Cormac, first as a rigidly hardcore Francoist, then as an ADN hardliner, then back to a more antagonistic gameplayer, etc. I matured just a bit in my early 20s and stopped taking the game so damned seriously, which in turn enabled me to become a somewhat better player and coup a bunch of places. Afterwards, I spent a year or two boasting endlessly about it on the NS GP forums and elsewhere. Eventually, I lost interest in this and "retired" about 5 years ago, which brings me to the present.
Some of my best memories of the game were from the old s8 TWP forum. TWP had a completely unrealistic government structure at the time -- loosely based on the US Constitution as far as I could tell, and with a figurehead delegate. But the player base at the time was so great that it didn't matter. I even miss F&P; in fact he's one of the few I miss the most. The kid could always be counted on to spice up a debate lol. Back then, we fought over lofty ideals, like offsite forum democracy vs Francoism or whatever, and that made the game stimulating. Now, it's just boring and endless R/D drivel, as it's been for the last 5-10 years.

75% Irish and 25% Ashkenazi Jewish. I live in the fringes of the US and American society, both literally and figuratively.

I'm not hip, urban, or physically fit enough to own Apple products.

Yep, I can honestly say that the NPO has probably not had a screw of this magnitude in its history such as this one.
Trying to think.....
A+ for effort tho.

NPO blew it. PRL is back in charge.

NES isn't the King of Balder

Please. That's called business. Walmart's worse than Afforess ever will be and people are still shopping there.
Afforess isn't a business and I complain about Walmart on the regular.
-
It displeases me greatly that Afforess will likely profit handsomely from this.

I agree with Dark. I'm glad yy4u's reign of terror is over and behind us.

lol. There was no government prior to the WECA.

They also endorsed Yy, in fact they endorsed him more so.
He resigned and paved the way for Eli to become delegate. If he now regrets that decision, then whoops, too late.
-
That doesn't mean the region or Delegate shouldn't when creating his governmental structure, in which case the people of the region have to be consulted - they will be the ones that have to cope with it.
The people of the region, as defined by the game mechanics, have decided they've been consulted quite enough when they endorsed Eli to begin with.
-
Endorsements from foreign militaries? Okay.
The game mechanics make no distinction between natives and 'foreigners'.
-
I do not recognise influence as an accurate representation of what people want. Nobody does. The region was taken with help from the outside, I hardly call that the most votes of a region.
@Eli: I respectfully decline your invitation, it would act against all that I have previously said and done.
But certainly many of us recognize endorsements as such.
-
Yeah, it's not as if the people know what they want.
Essentially anyone can vote in this thread. Foreigners, diplomats, maybe even guests. This poll is not an accurate reflection of the will of the region at all. For that, we must look to the delegate, for he holds the most endorsements ('votes') of anyone in the region, as well as the most influence.
-
As it turns out, they don't even add up in base 8. it's base 13, because 13*1 + 9 = 22. I'm at work and obviously distracted.
At any rate, I have total faith in Eli and whatever government structure he implements for the benefit of the region. These polls are, therefore, meaningless, in my mind.

They add up in base 8.

Great posts WW and Eli.
I went to Japan last January. Great to get away from the claws of the western media for a while. I came back to the media spinning a bad date by Aziz Ansari as sexual harassment, and wall to wall coverage of the latest vagina hat marches. Our country is so lost.
I am not a gun nut BTW. If they want to pass some restrictions on assault weapons, then fine, but I think it's rich that the left claims to be moral arbiters on issues of crime and law enforcement while they simultaneously buddy up with the BLM whackjobs and the illegal immigration lobby on the regular. Yeah, I'll support some new gun laws... when I get common sense immigration enforcement in return. I'm not holding my breath. We have a right to own guns in this country, but there is no right to immigrate anywhere in the Constitution last time I checked.
