Yes, it would. The point of this is to issue strong diplomatic sanctions to show the Pacific that: 1. We strongly disapprove of what they have done in Lazarus, subverting the native government and destroying the people's sovereignty. 2. We recognize that this is a veiled threat to us. If the Pacific could infiltrate Lazarus over a period of months or maybe even years, how do we know they won't do the same to us? Closing the embassy will send a powerful message that we realize this, but we will not back down.

I assumed that you were abstaining out of a sense of duty, because you didn't want to vote for yourself, just as I was. What really annoys me is that I considered casting a vote in the last couple of minutes, to prevent you from voting and forcing a tie. I decided to have faith in you instead and didn't. You're entirely allowed to vote here for yourself; there's no rule against it. It's just that I honestly expected a bit more from you.

Well, you hardly need my permission, true. BTW, *magnanimous. But I'm not trying to be arrogant. You'll notice that Elegarth just accepted Escade, as I expected: Applications to the HGA are rarely turned down, and there was no reason to expect Escade would be any different. Furthermore, I specifically stated that I would remove my post if the election were to turn out differently from how it appears right now; my post was more to indicate that I was planning to accept Escade than to actually wield authority. If you'd like to continue complaining about me, that's certainly fine. However, I'd like to ask that you please do it in a separate thread (Perhaps my campaign thread?) so as to avoid clogging this one up.
