Greater Butstadte, officially the Federal Republic of Greater Butstadte, is a Federal Socialist Presidential Republic in East Andolia. Its 5 states have a total population of over 7 million in an area of 184,170 km² (71,108 mi²). It borders Overthinkers to the north, the Sirenas sea to the east, and the Butsta river to the west and south. The nation's capital and most populous city is Pura and its main financial centre is Durtsburg.

The economy Greater Butstadte economy is socialist but unlike other socialist nations who rely on a planned economy, Greater Butstadte allows the market to do its thing, to make it more efficient, they allow Worker cooperatives and small family owned businesses to run with only crucial industries like the train industry to be state or federal owned, they have anti-monopoly and intervene when a cooperative or business starts crushing its competition. This makes them liked more in capitalistic nations compared to most socialist nations. The Food Process industry (primarily the Meat Processing, baked goods, and Fish Processing), Retail, and Farming are the dominant industries, but dominant industry depends on the state's industry focus. The nation is somewhat poor, but it has a growing economy that's not slowing down, and it's richer than some socialist nations.

Greater Butstadte is divided into 5 states, Leupe, Quéta, Chola-Desburg, Laschiv, and Dalheim, all with there own government, parties, legislation, and economic policies. The economy of each of the states are noticible with Quéta being the richest state while Laschiv being the poorest state, however by per capita wealth, it's a different story with Laschiv being the highest GDP per capita. Major industries are different in each state with Quéta's dominant industry being the Retail industry, Chola-Desburg and Leupe's dominant industry being the Food Process industry, and Laschiv and Dalheim's dominant industry being the Farming Industry.

Greater Butstadte's government is split into 3 types, The Federal Government, State Government, and Local government. Each of 5 individual state governments can create Legislations and laws to their respective states, as long as it does not challenge the authority of the Federal government. The Mélsine is a Multi-party system with many parties, however, most of the big parties are socialist with very little political diversity primarily due to the constitution and anti-right policies.

There are 2 dominant coalitions, the first being The People's Left Party (usually referred to as The Left), the biggest party is La Gauche du Peuple (also known as the Left party), the ideological spectrum of the People's Left Party ranges from Centre-left to Left-wing with policy focuses usually being Socialist, Democratic, Economy, and Education. The second is The Butstadte Front for Unity (usually referred to as the Union), the biggest party is Les Démocrates (also know as The Democrats), the ideological Spectrum of the Butstadte Front for Unity ranges from Centre-left to Centre with policy focuses usually being Conservative, Rights, Taxation of anti-capitalist policies, and Police. They are considered the right in Greater Butstadte.

 

Major Good

• Federal: because Greater Butstadte is a Federation, it allows for greater representation and greater autonomy towards states. Greater Butstadte's government, education, healthcare, police, legislations, and economy were to split to Federal, State, and Local authority.
• Education: in Greater Butstadte, they really care about education and with it having the highest government budget spending. That's why kids are usually pushed to do well in class and promote school discipline, making the average IQ in the country higher. There's also a societal stigma being that If you don't go to a university in Greater Butstadte, people kinda judge you and don't take you as serious.

Minor Good

• Corruption vs Integrity: politicians in Greater Butstadte are good at not being corrupt, because of safeguards, The Department of Government Regulation, the breaking of the government into 3 branches, and the 3 branches checking each other's powers. This makes corruption less likely and very few Corruption scandals.
• Baseball: In Greater Butstadte, baseball is a big deal and really loved by everyone in the community. People are so into it that local stadiums often fill up with fans during games. It’s seen as a national pastime, especially among the kids. Many young ones start playing baseball as early as third grade when schools include it in gym class. This early start helps them fall in love with the game.

• Socialism: Greater Butstadte is technically a regulated mixed economy comprised exclusively Worker owned and Mom & Pop SMEs functioning within a democratic system. However, since is legislations, policies, laws, departments, the fact that its difficult for foreign, capitalistic companies to run in Greater Butstadte without partnering with a Butstadte cooperative, and that even the Greater Butstadte government labels itself as a Market socialist nation, its considered Socialist. This has left it semi-isolated from Capitalist nations.
• Urban-Rural divide: Greater Butstadte has a massive Urban-Rural divide, 40% of rural population are indigenous, and the countryside have very old buildings. Somewhat different laws, police, healthcare, and other stuff. The Rural area have a different culture than the Urban areas.

Minor Bad

• Regulation: Greater Butstadte is very regulated with many departments that regulate Taxes, Healthcare, Worker Rights, Business, etc. This has caused Governments to have greater power than most nations and is seen by many outsiders as a Nanny State.
• Freedom of speech/press: news companies in Greater Butstadte are mostly independent, the government has shown many times to censor stories that are anti-government, this has caused news companies to be more pro-government. Even though they promote democracy and allow the criticism of parties, the government censors the internet of any media that criticise the government in Greater Butstadte by using many tactics like placing the media in a lower search result, make it slower to load that media, and just erase it from Greater Butstadte internet.
