Queen Rachel is angered by Lazarus’s Announcement

NORDIC SQUARE, BALDER –- Lazarus announced early today that it planned on dissolving Lazarus’s treaty with Balder, in addition to closing its embassy with Balder.

The decision comes in reaction to Rachel Anumia’s statement on behalf of Balder which criticized the government of Lazarus for its recent removal of imperialist members (which included Rachel Anumia’s husband, North-East Somerset and her predecessor, Charles Cerebella).

Rachel Anumia’s speech suggested Lazarus was “unfortunately damaged” by the policies of the Feux Administration -- that the removal of those three members marked a “destructive, ruthless banning that was committed on a whim”.

But her calls for reversing those decisions were not shared by Lazarus’s government – now under new management (Harmoneia). Harmoneia and others on the Emerald Council have praised the former adminstration’s policies.  This has left the Lazarus and Balder governments at an en passé.

“[Rachel Anumia] made a comment about our way of administration in Lazarus when it [was] not in [her] position to do so,” says Harmoneia.

When Lazarus contacted Rachel Anumia to ask for an apology, according to some reports, Rachel tried to shift the blame elsewhere and dismissed the calls for an apology entirely. Balder’s Queen calls Lazarus’s concerns, “a bizarre over-reaction” and “no big deal”.

In her defense, Rachel Anumia says she contacted several other GCR delegates, asking for their opinion on whether she had been out of line. Harmoneia, however, argues that a “bandwagon” does not make her statements right.

In general, the discussion has turned to largely a sparring between Rachel Anumia and Lazarus; while Rachel Anumia claimed Lazarus’s regent “made no attempts to discuss the issue”, after some heavy debate where Lazarus rejected this claim, Rachel Anumia now claims the discussion had simply been uncomfortable.

“[Lazarus’s regent was] rude in our conversations multiple times,” says Rachel Anumia.

The main discussion thread of the announcement has since been locked. However, the political tension remains: a rupture between these two divergent sinkers.
