  1. *smears brains on Ele* OH NO HOW TERRIBLE MY OPPONENT HAS BEEN EATEN BY ZOMBIES AND I MUST WIN BY DEFAULT!
  2. o7 Same to you. May the best camelid win.
  3. Voting is opening soon. The tension is palpable.
  4. Elegarth, I barely touched on you in my message. I didn't attack your personality, or attempt to smear you. I simply mentioned that it seems to me that your failure to mention the Ambassador Corps, despite the fact that it was incredibly prominent in campaigns between Milograd and myself, was a mistake and possibly indicated that you did not care about the subject enough to personally try to reform it while in office. I was appointed Ambassador to the South Pacific by Darkesia before the passage of the Executive Council Act. The Executive Council Act did not explicitly render the office of Ambassador void; as such, my appointment stands. Indeed. Thanks for that, it feels pretty nice to be doing something to fix a rift that's lasted years here in NS GP despite both sides' desires to fix it. Maybe. There's a lot of other offices I'd like to go for. Most importantly, I'm currently trying to land a spot as Prime Minister.
  5. After a long, grueling, process, I have done it: I have managed to draft a treaty which both I and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of TSP agreed on. The treaty has not been finalized, and there are still some details to hammer out. Still, however, I managed to negotiate a document that promises cooperation, non-aggression, and friendship between our two regions. I look forward to being able to do the same with other regions. And YES, URA, THAT DOES INCLUDE EUROPEIA. Along with TNP, TEP, and TRR, among a handful of others. And I must say: This is why we need ambassadors so much. Our Diplomatic Corps is more important than many here realize, and the reason for that is simple: If we don't even reach out to other regions, how are we supposed to build ties with them? The outright attacks by Milograd against our Diplomatic Corps (Despite his support for literally every other branch of civil service) worry me, as does Elegarth's complete lack of mention given to them in his campaign thread, implying that he does not care about them enough to even talk about it. And for that reason, I'd like to ask for your support in the future: I have already begun negotiations with other regions about similar documents, and this can certainly continue successfully into the future, but only if I receive a mandate to continue from TWP's people in these elections. So now, it's pretty much TWP's choice: Do you want me to continue building relations, or not? The answer will be reflected in your voting this week.
  6. Thanks. I tend to have those. *hat tip* Thanks for the suggestion, Nox! I'll say that it does have quite a bit of merit. However, there's also a problem with that: It would mean that we'd have to make articles significantly shorter, so that they could fit in a single TG that wouldn't provoke a TL;DR reaction from everyone. As such, it's probably best not to actually combine them, but instead to only offer short updates in the TG's and a link to the full newspaper. Comedy is definitely TWP's thing. If at any point we're not doing it, my burrito campaign has not been successful enough. Must be done. It's been done in Lazarus before, where I ended up becoming the richest Lazarene evah. Net worth of about 1 million Phoenix fen, up from 10K originally, I believe.
  7. I'm suggesting we send about 1 TG every week, along with a welcome TG. That won't blanket anyone, it won't bombard them, it will just make it easy for those who happened to miss the first one. Remember, welcome TG's always arrive before recruitment TG's, meaning that unless someone checks their inbox right after joining the game, they'll likely be unable to find the welcome TG.
  8. I do note that some people here disagree with the current proposal for a bicameral legislature. Furthermore, I understand that forcing a region to accept democracy is hardly the most rational or consistent thing to do. As such, I promise to hold a referendum before putting any kind of bicameral legislature or power-sharing mechanism in place. Should the idea of a bicameral legislature prove too radical for some, however, I believe it is still a good idea to allow the in-game region to have at least a bit of a voice. A possible way to do this would be to enable them to elect an advisory body, just as TSP currently does, enabling them to have a voice without changing too much about how the region works.
  9. It's kind of what we already do with the Delegate and Prime Minister. Having three heads of government/state seems like going too far. I don't believe creating an entirely new position just for the purpose of this would really be warranted. However, should I win in the election, I believe that Elegarth would be an excellent Officer to serve on the Executive Council, and I would likely appoint him to serve alongside me; he has said the same to me. Similar, but still off by quite a bit. Here's a list of things we could have done to keep at least a few of them: 1. Sent welcome telegrams explaining a bit about NS and how to get involved in the region. 2. Sent regional telegrams to recruit inactive players to join our forums for those who didn't see the welcome TG. 3. Offered training courses to help new players learn how to play, serve in the military, RP, and do whatever else they need. 4. Appointed someone to handle recruitment, so that they could carry these plans and come up with new ideas. That's just what I came up with in a minute. These are the kinds things that every successful GCR does. The fact we haven't gotten these basic services up is frankly almost shocking.
  10. Agreed. Also agreed on this point. I never suggested we should give up our old allies, merely that now, UIAF may not be enough entirely on its own, and additional allies would certainly be of great help. As an ex-member of the SPSF: yup, it's tiny. I was referring to the fact that all the regions I mentioned combined pack a massive punch, not each individually.
  11. Well, banning members from the Assembly would automatically be recognized, as it is impossible for somebody not in TWP to vote in the Assembly. As to the Senate, that's a possibility that we should consider putting in place.
  12. Thanks, Elegarth. Glad to start campaigning again. However, could you please move my campaign thread and proposal for a bicameral legislature out of the archives and unlock them? I don't want to have to create an entirely new post when I already have one done.
  13. HI APULITA! Welcome! Be sure to poke around the forums a bit more, and you'll likely want to sign up for the HGA. Tell me if you need help with anything. <3
  14. Oh god... Am I... Agreeing with Cormac? *gasps* But seriously, his point makes a good deal of sense. I am very much afraid of what the NPO has the capacity to do here in TWP, and we should reevaluate our alliance with them to see if we really should be keeping them as an ally. The problem is that this means we'll be needing help. If the NPO did this in Lazarus, we'll need to be certain that they can't do it here, and that means endorsements capable of being redeployed. UIAF recently collapsed, so we can hardly turn there. I suggest reaching out to the independent powers: TEP, TNP, and TSP, all of which are capable of fielding a powerful force, and all of whom I believe would serve as trustworthy allies, should we seek out their assistance. Building new ties to new allies to make sure we are well defended must be a top priority for the next administration.
  15. And the day after that, it will be my birthday. And a handful of days after that, it will be Hitler's birthday. And there is lots of other terrible things that happened in April, particularly mid-April. So, my birthday sucks.
