  1. Yup.  I was a surprised at how quickly it seemed that [violet] was ready to jump at this. And it's rather like our site supporter/telegram stamp money is indirectly going to Afforess for a 'free' browser addon.

Afforess has taken a number of controversial positions.  He was the first person to send a recruitment telegram to all nations for example, so he was the first to break some of the traditional unofficial barriers in recruitment.  He told those that complained that he considered all other regions enemies of his own region (Capitalist Paradise).  Not a good way to make friends.

Ahhhh right, I've heard all SORTS of nasty opinions about Capitalist Paradise.

And that's a good point about the site supporter funds. I have no money of my own, so I can't really give any to NS, but the idea that the players of NS are basically paying Afforess for an otherwise free application is... distasteful.

  2. It displeases me greatly that Afforess will likely profit handsomely from this.

Yeah, I understand a loooooooot of people hate his guts.

I'd love it if someone more knowledgeable about that particular subject than I could fill me in sometime on just WHY he has so many enemies...

  3. Speaking of Delegates who have what it takes to rule, I would like to question the logic in pushing Darkesia as the replacement delegate for BBD.

Don't get me wrong, I'd like to elaborate.

I DO think putting Dark in the delegate seat is a good idea.

However, I would point out that Darkesia only has ~160 WA Endorsements, while AGP still has 210, which is only 6 less than BBD.

Essentially, I think it would make more sense to try to get AGP back in the delegate seat if only to get a handle on the situation, after which point he could re-transfer the Delegacy to Dark. That seems like a safer and, most importantly, quicker solution to the unfortunate problem with the current Delegate.

EDIT: I apologize for my n00bish underestimation of our great Guardians' tactical prowess

It has come to my attention that my suggestion is redundant. If it is necessary, I will delete the entire post (?), but until notified I'll leave it so           people can see that I'm smart too  :P

  4. Rally the people of the community.  They need to be aware of what is happening game side.  They are safe here, yes.  But BBD's madness could easily migrate into these sacred halls, if we are not vigilant.

Agreed. Enough is enough... My patience has run out completely. Kiddy gloves are definitely removed now.

It really saddens me, too. BBD was one of the first people in TWP to really welcome me into the community.

Due to the comparative infrequence with which Eli and Dark posted in my first few months, I didn't really meet them (you?) until much later.

But Westwind, Yy, and BBD were the first TWP veterans I got to know... and so it pains me to have to disavow allegiance to BBD yet AGAIN.

  5. I can't make heads or tails of this.

I'll be honest, I can't tell joke from reality in this situation.

My immediate instinct was to support the current Delegate, regardless of status, but banning Karaoke Friday?!?!

That... is a line not to be crossed.

I hereby declare my support for All Good People, aka Westwind, and any in The West Pacific whom he chooses to align himself with.

Thus, I declare my allegiance to WECA, Darkesia, Yy4u, and Eli.

I will be unendorsing BBD shortly.

    ...

Now what can I do to help?

  6. Wouldn't it be fun if a rogue star came crashing into our solar system?

Ah, yes, "fun" is just the word I was going to use to describe that particular situation.

But seriously, there are so many ways the Universe could spontaneously kill all of us right now, and we wouldn't even see it coming.

Like freaking Gamma Rad Bursts. Crazy-arse pulsars...

Oh, and NOT the kind of gamma rays that give make you a giant green rage monster!

  7. Schrodinger cat's is usually overused and misunderstood anyway :P

And the funniest thing is that it was a joke in the first place. Schrodinger invented the thought experiment to disprove the very ideas that it represents: he hoped to show that the theory was completely absurd, because logically speaking, how can a cat possibly be both alive and dead?

It's extremely ironic that it has become so ubiquitous that it is practically a faux-intelligence catchphrase-- "Hey, look at me, I have a Schrodinger's Cat T-Shirt, I'm smart and knowledgeable!"

When in fact most of the high school students who do that sort of thing don't even know the finer points of the theory it was invented to make fun of  :D
