  1. Log In 21:09 懿月三蓝周 End of the 1424 Yìyuè festival season Today marks the last day of the 1424 Yìyuè celebrations across Sekiya and other starist-aligned nations. For those of you living under a rock, the Yìyuè festival spans the second week of Sekiya's 11th month, Yìyuè. The festival celebrates the supposed birth of Kang, the founder of the starist church. Kang was born on Hǔzhōu, and this is the day that the majority of celebrations take place. This day, second only to the Sekiyan New Year, is the day in which the most fireworks are set off on any day in Sekiya! This year set a new record, with a 48 minute long fireworks display in Xingyuan, the longest ever in Sekiya. The week is considered Sekiya's national holiday. During the week, all schools are closed, and many businesses and shops are closed or open for half a day. Due to this, several other events have been tied into the week. As Yìyuè is also the month dedicated to the diety of Justice, Sekiya's shrines and temples are packed throughout the entire week, as tens of millions across the country seek to improve their standings with the gods, to ensure good dreams throughout Mèngyuè, next month. In this article, we will be covering the traditional week of the Yìyuè Festival. A note for our non-Sekiyan readers: The Sekiyan calendar is very different to the Markan Calendar! Instead of 12 months of varying lengths, the Sekiyan Calendar has 13 months, each with 30 days spread across 4 weeks, except for the 7th month, Yángyuè, which has an extra day as a national holiday on the Sekiyan solstice! The Sekiyan days of the week are Fěnzhōu, Gànzhōu, Lánzhōu, Cuìzhōu, Huángzhōu, Hǔzhōu and Chìzhōu, with Fěnzhōu and Gànzhōu being the two days of the week considered as the 'weekend'. In Sekiya, dates aren't typically written as the number of a month (I.e '20th Yiyue'), instead dates are written as the week and the day (I.e '2 Fěnzhōu' - aka 'Week 2, Fěnzhōu'). 2 Fěnzhōu (7 Apr) & 2 Gànzhōu (8 Apr) Whilst the fesitval hasn't officially started yet, typically people spend these days with their families and preparing stalls and food for the upcoming week. 2 Lánzhōu (9 Apr) 2 Lánzhōu is considered the first day of festivities, and is the day that most festival stalls will open. The majority of all towns and cities will have a 'festival area', with food stalls, gift stalls, outdoor games, and other recreation. 2 Cuìzhōu (10 Apr) On 2 Cuìzhōu, the festivities from the previous day continue. Mainly, people on this day will be worrying about preparing for the next two days of the festival, however on the early evening, cities and big towns will have a precession through the streets, composed of performers, dancers, musicians and other moving displays. 2 Huángzhōu (11 Apr) On 2 Huángzhōu, families tend to have their biggest meal of the year. Traditionally, families will have a 13 course meal, spread across the entire day, from breakfast to bedtime. Different parts of the meal are prepared by different people within the family, and often, neighboring smaller families may join together to share a bigger meal. The tradition of this feast comes from the idea that the population of the country should be well fed and energised in preparation for Kang's birthday. 2 Hǔzhōu (12 Apr) 3 Hǔzhōu is the day that Kang was born, and Sekiya's national day, thus making it the most important day of the week. Many spend the day preparing for the evenings celebrations and attenting to festival stalls. In the evening, the stalls close for around an hour, for the crowds to watch the firework displays. It is said that each year on Kang's birthday, there is a chance that they will be reborn, and so cities and towns host firework displays so that it can be hoped that Kang will be able to find Sekiya and return. 2 Chìzhōu (13 Apr) 3 Chìzhōu is generally a day of rest, however many festival activities will carry over, such as the food stalls, outdoor games etc. for those that missed them. In the evening, to draw an end to the week, many people will attend a viewing of one of Sekiya's many traditional plays. These are done often by Schools, Amatuer theatre groups and professional theatre groups. These plays are between 20-30 minutes long, and are typically based on ancient literatary works in Sekiya, and feature storytelling, music and dance. One of the popular stories told through play, written around a millenia ago in Sekiya, tells the tale of a young scholar on their journey to the Sekiyan capital to find greatness. Along the way, the scholar encounters a diverse array of people that challenge his original views on life, teaching him the importance of society, family and home. Upon reaching the capital, the scholar meets the emperor and is offered a position in the imperial court, however the scholar refuses, deciding that his place is instead back at his home village with his family. The play is unique in that the main character in the story is ambiguous, perhaps intended to allow the reader/watcher to fill the shoes of the protagonist. The tale is by far the most acted play in Sekiya. 3 Fěnzhōu (14 Apr) & 3 Gànzhōu (15 Apr) Whilst the holiday is at this point, officially over, 3 Fěnzhōu and 3 Gànzhōu are not typically working days in Sekiya, meaning many people have these days off! Across these days, there is a big effort into the cleanup of the Yìyuè festival. Additionally, as the 'last chance' before returning to work, many will take one last visit to a shrine or a temple. There is also lots of charitable work done on these days. 3 Lánzhōu (16 Apr) 3 Lánzhōu marks the first day back to work and school for Sekiyans. With less than 2 months to go until the Sekiyan new year, students and workers alike will find the next several weeks to go quickly in the lead up to Sekiya's next big festival week.
  2. YGHC (Sekiya Trains) Industry: Transportation/Construction Country: Sekiya Yongguo Huoche is a state-owned enterprise that constructs highspeed rail infrastructure in Sekiya. The company was founded in 1380 and originally dealt with freight rail projects, however, was chosen to specialise in pioneering Sekiyan Highspeed Rail in 1401. Since then, YGHC has grown exponentially, as the demand for quick and efficient public transport in Sekiya has grown. YGHC primarily deals with the laying of rails, as well as the terraforming for such projects, including blasting canyons and digging tunnels. Recently, the YGHC has been involved in plans to construct highspeed rail in Sekiya's neighbours, however the project currently is still in the planning phase.

These polls have collectively been voted on over 10 million times by people all across Sekiya! Let's have a look into them! #1 - Would you support mandatory military conscription in a war? 27.6% - Yes, In any war. 24.2% - Yes, only in a defensive war. 48.2% - No, not in any war. Top comments: 小雨文 [Voted: No, not in any war.] - I am one of tens of millions of Sekiyans that would say no to a conscription, or any kind of mandatory service, in any scenario. I love Sekiya, and you can bet that if our country is at war, I will do anything I can to help our great nation, however like many others, I am not a soldier, I do not want to be a soldier. The best place I can Sekiya is on the home front, be it helping with production or agriculture. We do not want to see a repeat of what happened in the Nuran war. 阴阳师 [Voted: Yes, in any war.] - My grandfather fought in the Nuran war for my freedom and every Sekiyan should be willing to lay down their life to make sure that the next generation of Sekiyans 你的爱国 [Voted: Yes, In any war.] - SEKIYA RAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! I love Anzhou, I grew up in Damao and moved to Anzhou for university... have lived here ever since! 什么人士 [Voted: Heping] - Lol, if this wasn't a south-biased website then Heping would easily win. We singlehandedly carry the Sekiyan economy!!!! Dayuan [Voted: Xingyuan] - It's a bit of a shame... Xingyuan is wonderful and has some of the best festivals and outdoors spaces in Sekiya, but gets a low rating because low population and people confuse us with Xinghai... yueliangdehua [Voted: Xinghai] - XINGHAI! 5. Top Story - Crashed Nuran war fighter plane found in Northern Fugu In a chance of total luck, life-time Fugu Province resident and farmer Liu Qiang (刘强) dug up what appeared to be fragments of an ejector seat whilst ploughing the field on his family farm earlier this week. Qiang reported his discovery to the Fuzhou Imperial War Museum, and within 24 hours, the fragments were identified to be from a Zhongyu ZY7 [External Link - Darkepedia], nicknamed the Xinghuo (星火 - 'Starfire'). A search team was quickly formed, and an approximated crash area was calculated by Archaeologists. After 6 days, the crash site was found in the west of Heben Province, near the border of Fugu. The plane was identified as a test flight that had gone missing, along with its pilot in 1342, who was presumed dead, however with the wreckage found, it is now more likely that the pilot survived the crash, although it is unclear to his fate. Map showing the location of the ejector seat fragments, the approximated crash site area, and the location of the crash site. The wreckage discovered in Fugu is now the fourth remaining intact Xinghuo, and will be displayed at the Fuzhou Imperial War Museum. Currently, the Xinghai Naval Air Museum has one of the other remaining three planes, which was donated by the Sekiyan Air Force in 1348 following its retirement. At the time, it was presumed to be the last remaining, fully intact Xinghuo. However, in 1360, one was found in a private collection in Kalmach and was donated to the National Museum in Easthaven. In 1370, a second Xinghuo was donated by the Kalmachian government, which had captured the plane during the war to study its design, to the same museum in Kalmach's capital. Sadly, it is unlikely that the ZY7 found in Fugu will be able to be restored to a condition like the one shown in Xinghai, which remains the most intact Xinghuo to date, with further wreckage sites unlikely to be found, as most went down over the sea near Kalmach, with the rest being scrapped. The ZY7 Xinghuo on display in Xinghai The Xinghuo was a short-range interceptor, produced from late 1342 until 1335. Around 140 were built in total and were stationed in both Fugo and Daxing, with the intention of deterring and intercepting Kalmachian bomber raids on Sekiya from the sea or within Ionia. The Xinghuo saw little usage, and in the later stages of the war, most were sent to Aukera as Sekiyan air volunteers. We spoke to Liu Qiang, and some others involved in the recovery effort of the Xinghuo, let's see what they have to say! Liu Qiang (刘强): "It's crazy really, it's a very exciting discovery, and an amazing piece of Sekiyan history! Northern Fugu rarely sees any mention in the media, and it's exciting to think that this all came from this small farm! I hope that when the Xinghuo makes its way onto a display in the Fuzhou Imperial War Museum that it will be enjoyed by all." Sun Zhiqiang (孙志强): "As the director of the Fuzhou Imperial War Museum, this is one of the most exciting discoveries we have made in the 40 years of my presidency. I'm excited to see what the Xinghuo will look like in our museum, and how we can bring light to this amazing marvel of Sekiyan engineering." Wang Mei (王梅): "After 20 years of working on a huge range of historical planes, the Xinghuo is by far the plane I'm most excited to work on. It's an iconic design, and I look forward to being able to restore the plane to how it would have looked all those years ago." Fugu news will follow this story into the future, and we look forward to seeing the magnificent Xinghuo on display within the coming years! Advertisement
  6. Overview This post covers the history of news in Sekiya and has a list of hyperlinks with each Sekiyan news source I have created so far, and any articles published by said publisher! History of News in Sekiya Early News Historically, the news industry in Sekiya has been extremely lacking. In the late 1200s, when Sekiya united as a country, the nation only had 1 nationwide newspaper, with extremely poor efficiency, often reporting on issues late, and with papers taking sometimes up to 2 weeks to be delivered to rural communities. Many cities, such as the rapidly developing Xinghai and the industrial behemoth of Heping had many city-wide newspapers, that covered city and national news, however had extremely limited reach. The first reliable, nationwide newspaper in Sekiya came in 1297, when the Order of Starism created the Starist Chronical. Sekiya was abundant with Starist temples and shrines, both within the inner cities and rural communities, and all of these locations were well mapped and accessible to the Order, making them the perfect place to distribute their weekly paper. The Chronical wasn't like most papers at the time and was more like a pamphlet that just happened to contain some news. Being run by the church, the paper's was free, with most of the work towards the paper being voluntary, and funded by Tithe. However, its views were very religion centric and appraising of the Sovereign, with little to no cover on critical stories. The Starist Chronical was grew rapidly in size and popularity, and by 1305, around 90% of Sekiya had reliable access to the Starist Chronical. As Sekiya became more connected, both locally and globally, the interest in news started to increase, and the Chronical just wasn't enough anymore. Following the beginning of the establishment of rail in Sekiya, a local city paper based in Xinghai, decided to use rail to distribute it's papers. Now known as Nanwen, they initially expanded to the nearby city of Anzhou. From there, they expanded quickly into the states of Damao and Daxing, and by 1325, was the most widespread, daily paper in Sekiya. A second printing office was opened in the city of Anning, and later a third in Weishan, solidifying Nanwen's domination on news in the south. Nanwen inspired many other papers to go regional, such as Fugu News. Fun fact! To this day, the Starist Chronical is still being published and distributed across shrines and temples, however, is now treated more as a religious newsletter. Radio Radio was introduced to Sekiya in 1324, however was restricted to government and military use. Sekiya's radio infrastructure boomed with the outbreak of the Nuran war, as the nation made huge investments into its radio coverage. Following the end of the war, Sekiya, now with a large war debt, started selling off and privatizing radio towers. The first company to make efficient usage of Radio in Sekiya was Heping News Network. HNN had been a strong news distributer in Heping for over 3 decades, however was struggling to distribute it's news across the bustling city, which had now effectively engulfed several surrounding cities in the area. HNN's first radio broadcast was made in late 1345, and has broadcasted every* day since then. *HNN, like other stations, doesn't broadcast on the day of the Sovereign's death. Additionally, an anti-monarchist terrorist attack in 1390 which almost collapsed HNN Tower, caused the service to halt for 3 days. TV TV came to Sekiya in 1358, however there was very little demand for it. Even in 1360, much of rural Sekiya was unconnected to Sekiya's national power grid, and for those living in the cities, the average, depressingly small studio apartment enjoyed by millions of workers could not fit a TV, let alone have sufficient signal strength. Due to this, TVs only really thrived in communal areas, primarily bars, where people would sit, and watch shows and sports. News wouldn't make a breakthrough onto TV until the 1380s, as many preferred getting their news from a radio, instead of going out just to watch it. Due to their decrease in size and ability to be wall mountain, many Sekiyan homes have a TV, however, there still exists a culture of watching TV as a social event, with most stadiums and plazas featuring a large screen TV that can be used to broadcast events, such as sports. Most home TVs are usually used for movies, and recently, video games. Did you know? Introduced as part of the 1393 Television & Radio Standardization Bill, advertisement segments may not take up more than 5 minutes and 28 seconds per hour broadcasted. Online Most news corporations started distributing news online when the Internet came to Sekiya, with Online news becoming more popular than traditional newspapers by 1411. News Companies Whilst all Sekiyan news companies are independent, the government has occasionally silenced stories, which subtly prompts most papers to be pro-government, or at least cautious with how it reports on criticism. 南闻 Nánwén (Southern News) Nanwen is a large television and news company that operates primarily in the south of Sekiya, however, is available nationwide. Nanwen is easily available in Common, making it the most popular Sekiyan news outlet abroad. Nanwen have acknowledged this and have started to market their news towards Esferos. 7. 2nd DSIG Convention, Changjing Following a successful convention this time last year, DSIG proudly inaugurates its second annual convention. This year, the spotlight is on the highly anticipated Damao 3B, the latest variant of Sekiya's flagship main battle tank. Although closely related to its predecessor, the Damao 3A, which made its debut almost a decade ago, the 3B introduces subtle yet strategic improvements, showcasing DSIG's dedication to refinement and innovation. Beyond the unveiling of the Damao 3B, anticipation is building for an exciting announcement from Heping Small Arms (HSA) on the third day of the convention. As the industry looks to the future, HSA promises to contribute to the landscape of cutting-edge weaponry. Responding to overwhelming demand, DSIG's Virtual Reality Training Simulator returns at this year's convention. Since its captivating debut last year, this immersive training solution has garnered substantial interest. Notably, the Sekiyan military has ordered two of these advanced simulators, with the first already operational and the second currently undergoing installation. Damao 3B Main Battle Tank Onto the main product shown off at the convention, the Damao 3B. The 3B is a variant of the 3A, released in 1314. The 3B has been refitted to better connect to Sekiya's C4ISR network, allowing it to work better with last year's Qilin. Additionally, the crew interface of the tank has been significantly refined, giving the crew more space inside the tank, with some new quality of life upgrades for the crew, such as newly designed seats, improved first aid kits and an improved survival kit, fitting two tents, flares, and rations to last up to 2 weeks for the whole crew. From June of 1324, Damao will shift the majority of its plants to start producing the Damao 3B, with some plants continuing to produce the Damao 3A for storage, spare parts & export. [OOC: Stay tuned for another small post in a few days! The tank I have used as reference is the Korean K2 Black Panther)
  8. Culinary Groups Sekiya has 6 main culinary groups, each with similarities and differences that you will discover as you follow along with these recipes. Each recipe will be from one of the food groups mentioned below. Eastern Sekiya (Dongchi) - Dongchi is a rare cuisine and found rarely within and outside of Sekiya. Dongchi roughly translates to "Eastern food" and is the most different from the other food groups. Primarily influenced by the lifestyle of the Donggu people for much of Sekiyan history, Dongchi food is mostly based around roaming animals, such as cattle and similar mammals. North-Western Sekiya (Kaluo) - Kaluo food is the rarest food group on this list due to the low population density. The area was for much of history closer to Sekiya's northern neighbour, Peourouin. Due to this, Kaluo food is a rough mix of Heping and Peourouin cuisine. Western Sekiya (Fugu) - Fugo is an extremely interesting food group, due to its influence from Giovanniland, which had control over this region between the 920s to the early 1200s. The name Fugo, comes from the local name of the Northern Sekiyan Coast, meaning "Prosperous Valley". Fugo food is similar to Banyue food, with a strong influence from Giovannilandian cuisine. Central Sekiya (Heping) - Heping food is extremely popular in Sekiya, however, is not well known globally. It is named after Heping City, the largest city in Sekiya, and a rough centre of Heping food. Heping food is primarily based around rice, chicken and pork, due to the abundance of farmland in Central Sekiya. South-Western Sekiya (Banyue) - If you have ever been to a Sekiyan restaurant in your country, then you most likely have eaten lots of food from Banyue! The name is taken from the ancient Sekiyan kingdom of Banyue that used to occupy much of South-Western Sekiya. Banyue is by far the most popular Sekiyan food group abroad, primarily due to the large city of Xinghai! Xinghai is by far Sekiya's most multicultural city, and the large amount of tourism and trade going through the city has helped local cuisine travel the world! Banyue food is primarily based around seafood, due to the abundance of coastline. Southern Sekiya (Danan) - The word "Danan" translate literally to Great South, the name of an ancient empire during which Danan food really took off. Due to its lush and dense forests, Danan food is primarily based around hunted animals, such as Deer and Wild Game, however these meats have been substituted with farm animals as part of conservation efforts. 9. Introduction Thank you for purchasing my book! My name is Jasmine Rice, and I have been a chef for over 30 years, specialising in Sekiyan cuisine. However, I didn't always want to be a chef, and I hope my story and recipes can help you form a positive relationship between you and the kitchen! From a young age, I always wanted to become a lawyer, and I even got into Ma Law School in Anzhou! Whilst studying abroad in Giovanniland at the University of Porto Violeto, I found my passion for cooking. I had always taken food for granted, and now that I was in another country, I knew I had to find a way to start making some of my favourite recipes from home. I returned home to Sekiya, and passed law school a year later, with cooking still my favourite hobby. I settled into a job in Anzhou, where I stayed for several years, and I gradually became tired of my job as a lawyer. I visited a shrine to ask for direction in my life, and I got it from the smell of a nearby restaurant. Almost within the space of a week, I had transitioned from a promising lawyer into an average chef on the outskirts of Anzhou. I slowly worked my way up across multiple kitchens, and after 7 years of enjoyment and development, I found myself as the Head Chef of Jiuguan's new restaurant in Changjing. After almost over a decade of experience, I started my own global restaurant chain 'Jasmine', with locations on every continent! After decades of work, I am now excited to be able to publish my first ever recipe book! I'm happy to take suggestions!]
  10. Continuation of my previous post. Zou Liqin, Jiang Yunru & Zhong Dongmei are students at Anzhou Medical University. They share a flat in the Mengyao Residential District, 20 minutes away from their university by subway. Zou, Jiang and Dongmei just finished watching the game against Cambria. Dongmei: "That was..." Yunru: "Bori-" Liqin: "THAT WAS INCREDIBLE!" Yunru: "Yeah... that's definitely what I was going to say." Liqin: "YUNRU, YOU DONT UNDERSTAND! Cambria haven't lost a single game yet! We were the only ones to kick their a-" Dongmei: "Yeah... It was pretty cool... I didn't realise how much people take it seriously..." Yunru: "People take it too seriously if you ask me..." Liqin: "It's just a bit of fun! Plus, you should be proud of your country for winning!" Yunru: "It's... a little hard to be excited about the football after what's happening in Fuzhou..." The room goes quiet. Liqin: "Have you... heard from your sister?" Yunru: "Yeah... she's okay, though my family's pottery workshop has been pretty much destroyed" Dongmei: "Oh... I'm sorry..." The room goes quiet again. Yunru: "Anyway... I didn't mean to kill the mood... I suppose on the bright side, the Navy are allowing my father to come home early to be with the rest of my family back home." Dongmei: "He was involved in the conflict with Fauthur, right?" [Context: Earlier in the year, a Sekiyan naval force sent to calm tensions was attacked off the coast of Aftokratoria] Liqin: "I don't know if I'd call it a conflict. But-" Yunru: "Yeah, he was. It was pretty scary when I saw the news.." Dongmei: "Wow, that's a lot to go through in a year, I'm glad everyone's okay" Yunru: "Yeah, I suppose... Anyway, we should probably clear up our mess." Liqin: "Wanna continue cellars and fellas later?" Dongmei: "Absolutely!" Yunru: Happier "You... mean it?" Liqin: "Yeah, why not!" Two of the popular adverts to release for the Sekiyan Maritime Force (Yǒngguó Hǎishì Lìliàng) following its engagement with Fauthur.
  11. Zou Liqin, Jiang Yunru & Zhong Dongmei are students at Anzhou Medical University. They share a flat in Yantai City, 20 minutes away from their university by subway. Zou and Jiang are at home. Liqin: "Hey, Yunru. Are we ordering takeout tonight?" Yunru: "Why? We have food at home." Liqin: "It's Sekiya's big game against Cambria, you don't think this is a special occasion?" Yunru: "Who cares? We've already made it out of the group stages... Plus, everyone's going to be ordering takeout tonight..." Liqin: "That's true... but we should still watch it! Maybe we can ask Dongmei to get something on her way home..." Yunru: Sighs "Okay, we can watch it. I was hoping on watching comet garden, but I suppose I can do that another night". Liqin: Putting his Sekiya Football scarf on "Nice! I'll get some drinks out of the fridge, you message Dongmei." Yunru: Pulling out his phone "Sure, sure. By the way, we need to finish that game of Cellars and Fellas." Liqin: Taking several sodas out of the fridge "Yeah... I'm not feeling too great about that game right now..." Yunru: Typing on his phone "Why? We got so far into it... is it because you failed that saving throw?" Liqin: "Honestly? Yeah... The Sorcerer fella isn't as fun as I thought it would be, I kind of want to swap to the warlock fella." Yunru: "Fair enough, maybe we can work something out, but it would be good to finish the campaign... we're 6 hours into that campaign and Dongmei spent a lot of time on the story. Plus, we haven't even cleared out the second cellar yet!" Liqin: "I suppose. Maybe we can play after the football game!" Yunru: "Sounds good! By the way, Dongmei replied, she's at Huangjin down the road getting some snacks and instant rice." Liqin: "Instant rice! That's barely a takeaway... Oh well, I'll accept it. Could you ask her to get some eggs too?" Yunru: "Sure... I'll ask her now..." Cellars and Fellas is a popular roleplaying tabletop game in Esferos. Seven minutes later, Dongmei walks through the door. The game starts in 10 minutes. Dongmei: "Oh. My. God. I hate the subway when it's busy..." Liqin: "Welcome home! Why was it busy?" Dongmei: "Everyone's going to the Anzhou Cloud stadium to watch it on the big screen..." Yunru: "My Goodness... I can't imagine being in a stadium that big... with all those people..." He shivers. Liqin: "I think it would be cool!" Yunru: "Good for you..." Dongmei: Putting the food away "Hey, did anyone boil the water?" Yunru & Liqin look at each other with a guilty expression. Yunru & Liqin: "Uhhhh...no..." Dongmei: Sighs "Trust you men to do anything right..." She jokes. Yunru & Liqin: "Sorry..." Dongmei: "Don't worry, I'll get it going. Yunru, do you want an egg with yours?" Yunru: "No thanks..." Liqin: "What about me?" Dongmei: "Liqin, we have lived together for 2 years... I already know how you like your rice". Liqin: "You're amazing... hey, come watch, Sekiya is about to walk on!" Yunru: "I wonder who's going to win..."
  12. Typhoon Ling: Over, or not? Typhoon Ling, the strongest storm to hit Sekiya in 23 years, has finally run its course and dissipated off the coast of Zigang. Ling left a trail of death and destruction in its path. Before the instruments were damaged by the storm, Fuzhou Weather Station measured winds of around 250km/h, leaving thousands of toppled trees and debris littering the area. The storm also brought torrential rain and several storm surges, that have left large parts of coastal towns destroyed, and some still in 2 metres of water. Fuzhou, Sekiya's 4th largest city, was hit the hardest by the storm. Whilst weather-proof architecture helped to keep many buildings up, the Port of Fuzhou have claimed the storm has disabled the port's functions for the next few months whilst repairs to the flood walls are made. Around 8,000 in Fuzhou have lost their lives, with an estimated 700,000 without power, and many without access to fresh water. Nearby cities of Mingyue and Mingde have also been left without power and fresh water, with around 400,000 across both cities without access to power. Acording to Fuzhou State's administration, the storm has affected approximately four million people, with many forced from their homes into public buildings and makeshift camps. A worldwide appeal has been made for aid to reach those affected by the storm. The situation has begun to allow for disease to spread in the area, and all leisure travel to Fuzhou has been completely restricted. The Sekiyan Government have issued a state of emergency to Fuzhou State and have sent in the Coast Guard and some Army elements to assist with the relief. The Starist Church has also started a donation pool within temples across the country, to raise money for the relief effort. Nánwén implores you, the reader, to reach out to your nearest Starist church and give anything that you can to help the relief efforts. Advertisement Recap: WCFIII Sekiya vs Teralyon In other news, Sekiya and Teralyon played out a thrilling, but disappointing game, drawing 1-1. Sekiya, who had just beaten Giovanniland 2-0 earlier in the week, starting with an early goal in the first half. However, it didn't take long for Teralyon to equalise before the end of the first half. Both sides failed to make an effective attack in the second half, and the game ended after 5 minutes of ET. The result leaves Sekiya in a promising place in the table, ahead of their game against Peourouin on Saturday Night. 13. Sports Review: Sekiya's current performance in WCFIII Nánwén proudly welcomes Dong Xiaotong, esteemed former captain of the Sekiyan National Team and current coach of Cuìgǎng Solar, currently ranked 4th in the SPL, as our guest writer for this week's sports review. It is an honor to have his insights grace our pages. Introduction Greeting, Sekiya! I am Dong Xiaotong, and firstly I want to congratulate our amazing team on their recent victory in Ryxtylopia! Additionally, I want to give every Sekiyan a huge thank you for the support you have been showing your team the last few days. Why do you think Sekiya lost to United Adaikes? "United Adaikes is a very strong team... however not to say that Sekiya isn’t also. The Sekiyan Defence was superb I must say, I believe this, even by Sekiyan standards, is an extremely defensive team, and I think this is something that will be both a huge asset to the team, however also potentially a hinderance. In this game, I feel Sekiya’s focus on defence was its weakness, as it really prevented Sekiya from being able to make any meaningful attacks." What do you think changed in the match against Giovanniland? "I think Chén Huá is a very smart captain and he was able to identify the issue with Sekiya’s playstyle. In the game against Giovanniland, we see Sekiya taking a lot more risks and playing a lot more forwards than in their game against United Adaikes." What advice to you have for the Sekiyan National Team in the future? "I think it’s important to find the right balance between offense and defence. The Sekiyan style of football is clearly dominated by strong defence, and so obviously a strong defence is what the team should focus on, but I think taking more risks like we saw in the match against Giovanniland will take the team very far in this competition." Once more, Nánwén expresses gratitude to Dong Xiaotong for contributing to this segment. We eagerly anticipate covering tomorrow's game, featuring an exciting matchup as Sekiya faces off against Teralyon! The buses and trains are adorned with the team's colours, creating a vibrant display of team spirit as they travel through the city. It's a creative initiative to connect the local sports scene with everyday life. The transportation authorities hope it not only fosters a sense of community pride but also encourages more people to use public transport." Chen Jie: "That's a clever idea. It's always refreshing to see new innovative ways to bring people together. I can imagine the excitement of fans spotting these specially designed vehicles around Changjing." Li Wei: "Absolutely! It adds a splash of colour to the daily commute and builds a sense of camaraderie among residents. It's a win-win – supporting the local team and enhancing the public transport experience. Now, let's see how this initiative unfolds and whether it becomes a trend in other cities as well." Chen Jie: "Before we move on to our next segment, let's take a quick break. But don't go away because we've got something special for you. Stay tuned!" [Commercial Break] Person One: "Man, it's scorching out here!" Person Two: "Tell me about it. I wish there was something to cool us down." [As they continue walking, they spot a vending machine in the distance.] Person One: "Hey, look over there! Let's see what they have." If it's good enough for our team, it's perfect for us!" [Person One inserts coins into the machine, and two bottles of the orange juice drink drop down.] Person One: "Here you go!" 17. ARCHIVE Archives Hazelhurst Mast to be demolished The Bureau for Cultral Heritage and Tourism has announced that the 574m high radio tower is to be demolished by the end of 1403. From: Bureau for Cultural Heritage and Tourism Published: 17/09/1402 Location: Astana, Sekiya The Bureau for Cultural Heritage and Tourism has recently reached a significant decision regarding the iconic Hazelhurst Mast, Sekiya's tallest structure, standing tall at an imposing height of just over 570 meters just north of the city of Sonnenfeld Dictator Rupert Von Hazelhurst, driven by a fervent sense of nationalism and the desire to broadcast his ideologies across the heartland of Sekiya, embarked on the ambitious project of constructing the mast as a tool for powerful radio propaganda. This engineering marvel was envisioned to be the conduit through which his messages would reverberate, shaping public opinion and solidifying his grip on power. The Hazelhurst Mast, despite its historical significance, has been a subject of intense debate in recent years. The question of its preservation, restoration, or even potential dismantling has been a point of contention among cultural heritage experts, historians, and local communities. Some argue for the mast's preservation as a tangible link to a pivotal period in Sekiya's history, a stark reminder of the lengths to which power can be wielded and the sacrifices made for its attainment. Others, however, point to the tower's association with a dictator known for his oppressive regime and the tragic loss of life that accompanied its construction. Chief of Cultural Heritage and Tourism gave the following speech in front of the senate last Thursday: Following the speech, several parades in Sekora and across Sekiya were held, celebrating the planned removal of the structure that had long continued to taint Sekiyan history. It is expected that several other structures from the Hazelhurst era may meet the same fate, including the infamous 90 meter tall statue of Hazelhurst in Fëschenstad, that has been covered by scaffolding for the past decade.
  18. Confidential - Chancellors Briefing on the situation near Aftokratoria Chancellor Amelia Marcus is briefed by Rear Admiral Mina Graf of the Sekiyan Expeditionary Fleet that was sent to Aftokratoria and Czuleck last month. Also present is Grand Admiral Apsel Wolff and the Chief of Strategic Defence, Radulf Gantzmann. Mina Graf: "Chancellor.. last weeks naval encounter is exactly why we need to send more ships. Operation Teilen is almost complete.. why not bring it forward by a few years?" Gantzmann: "Chancellor I must protest. If we send such a large fleet up north It will leave our shores horribly undefended." Marcus: "I see both of your points... Wolff, what is your opinion?" Wolff: "Well.. I dont think we can bring forward Operation Teilen.. and Gantzmann is right, we can't leave our shores so defended." Mina Graf: "But we have no enemies that could even reach Sekiya, let alone strike at our coast!" Wolff: "Mina... I appreciate your enthusiasm as an Admiral and you have my respect for reaching your position at such a young age and you're an amazing naval commander... however there are things about geopolitics you just don't understand yet." Gantzmann: "Wolff is right.. if we send more ships north, we're broadcasting to the world that Sekiya is ready for war... and frankly, we're not ready for a war if half of our navy is on the other side of the continent." Mina looked defeated Marcus: "Thank you, gentlemen... However, just entertain me. What would our situation look like right now if we put Operation Teilen into affect now..?" Mina looked excited Mina Graf: "Well-" Mina looked defeated, again. Marcus: "I'm asking Gantzmann." Gantzmann: "Well... The first problem is that we don't have a suitable base for the northern fleet. Additionally, we would currently need at least one, if not two more auxiliary ships to support this, however we have identified several nations we could purchase these vessels from." Marcus: "So it would be a logistical nightmare then..?" Gantzmann: "I'm afraid so.. We are still waiting on two more Holz-Class frigates to be laid down, however there have been significant delays in their construction. However, the two Cambric corvettes we ordered are well on the way and should be ready to sail in 5 months, however it's important to note it will take several months to train the crews for both of these vessels." Marcus: "It's a shame... I wish we were three years ahead of where we are now..however we will have to work with what we have. Wolff, Is there any way of sending reinforcements to Aftokratoria..?" Wolff: "I wouldn't recommend it at all.. however the RNS Castle's sister ship, the RNS Fortress could be sent, complimented by the frigate, RNS Enn. However, this leaves us with 1 destroyer, 3 frigates, 5 corvettes and 10 miscellaneous, dated missile craft." Mina Graf: "And the RNS Bastion..?" Wolff: "Realistically, at best the RNS Bastion is going to be out of commission for a year." Marcus: "Mina.. I wish there was more we could do, however I just don't think we have the resources for this...Thank you everyone for the briefing on this matter, I will be following the issue closely. Gantzmann, I will be seeing you later for the briefing on the situation on Campa Simpatica?" Gantzmann: "Yes, Chancellor.. until then." Marcus: "Mina.. stay for a minute, will you?" Gantzmann and Wolff leave. Mina Graf: "Yes.. Chancellor?" Marcus sighs, wishing she could do more for the young Admiral. Marcus: "Just know that.. I fully support your career in the navy, and I think in time, you will be one of the best in Sekiyan naval history.. however this time, there is sadly nothing we can do right now." Mina Graf: "Thank you Chancellor.. I'm sorry I got heated earlier." Marcus: "It's.. okay. Just stay focused on the expeditionary fleet for now, and I wish you safe travels back to the RNS Castle.

From: Office of the Chancellor and Secretary of the Chancellor Published: 09/07/1423 Location: Aftokratoria Earlier this week, Chancellor Amelia Marcus made a state visit to Aftokratoria to meet with recently elected Prime Minister Otto Kracy. Following the Usta Island Oil spill, it was then announced that the Chancellor would also be attending an emergency summit in the Aftokratorian Capital, Evimeronia, with Otty Kracy and a delegation from the People's forum of Czuleck. On the first day, the chancellor flew into the airport of Gatankri, a large city next to Evimeronia. After spending some personal time in Gatankri, the Chancellor then traveled to Evimeronia, where she greeted Otto Kracy and several other officials from the Aftokratorian government. The two then traveled to meet the Czulian delegation for the summit regarding the recent incident involving Fauthur. Following the conclusion of the summit, the chancellor then spent several days in the city of Voreivikost, before returning to Sekiya.
  20. Transcript: You’re joining me, Tom Sock, in the Republic of Sekiya; a relatively unheard-of nation in Southern Nur. The nation had an industrial boom in the 1380s, and the economy has roared into one of the largest on the continent, growing by almost 8 times in 4 decades. However, the economy isn’t the only thing that has been growing – Its buildings have been too. Sekiya has placed heavy restrictions on high-rises to preserve the architecture of its cities, however the eastern province of Roudes tells a different story. Today, we’re going to be taking a closer look at Eisenhaustad, the financial capital in the East, as well as some of the tallest buildings in Sekiya! 1 – Horizont Tower, Eisenhaustad This is the tallest building in the country: The absolutely massive Horizont Tower. This mega structure comes in at a whopping 326 meters tall. The Horizont is a huge tourist attraction in the city, with the viewing platform on the 71st floor giving views of the city. The building is also an important office space, with many corporations basing operations from the tower. The building was constructed as a joint project led by the Sekiyan Direktbank and the Cambrian Alender and Kokk Holding Corp. Despite opening on time in 1419, the building has been under scrutiny following the partial collapse of an underground access road to the tower, leading to massive rebuilding works within the foundations. 2 – Kaiserstahl Platz, Eisenhaustad We’re at the Kaiserstahl Platz now, home to the mining and steel giant, Kaiserstahl. This humongous company was founded in 1305 as a Crown Company, however gained its autonomy in the 1320s. The company has grown with the nation, and has been Sekiya’s largest employer until 1401, when it was overtaken by the supermarket chain, Tescha. The building has a unique, triangular structure with 4 main sections and was completed in 1409. Many notable companies have their main offices here, including SekAir, IT-Strategie and farming giants AKI Leitz. Despite the building being primarily being funded by Kaiserstahl, the building also received significant funding from the Adaikesian International Development Agency (AIDA) and the United Adaikes Agency for International Cooperation (UAAIC), with both entities having regional offices here for Nuran programs, projects, and activities. 3 – Sekiya Financial Centre, Fischendorf Next, we take a long trip to the bustling port city of Fischendorf. The port here is one of the largest in the world, and acts as the primary gateway for goods to enter and leave the country. The Sekiyan Financial Centre acts as the main office for Sekiya’s largest shipping company, Hurtigruten AS, that holds a 5% share of its part of the building, however the building is primarily owned by the Giovannilandian construction company Korporatia Benaventura, with the Sekiyan Kreditbank also having a 40% share. The building overlooks the port and harbour area, and is one of the only buildings outside of Eisenhaustad in Sekiya that is over 150 metres tall. 4 – Himmelsstern, Eisenhaustad Back in Eisenhaustad, we’re looking at Himmelsstern, Sekiya’s newest skyscraper. Completed in 1420, the project was primarily funded by the Cambrian engineering company, JANEK Grupp. The building is home to many corporations, including Logiseikia, who own the remaining share of the building. Himmelsstern has attracted many multinational companies and has regional offices from corporations from all over Esferos, including Triaco Pharma and S.L. International, both from Saranzio. Most impressively about Himmelsstern is its mall. With a total of 7 floors starting from the 2nd basement level, this mall is the largest in Sekiya by both value and size. Shoppers can find fashion, jewelry, tech, and even car showrooms for Silberpfeil and Eckhard-Walter. 5 – Die Turm, Eisenhaustad Die Turm is a 211m-tall skyscraper that stands as the tallest building in the Katzeinsel district of Eisenhaustad. Designed by architect Friedrich Klein and completed in 1422, it features a stunning glass façade that reflects light and changes color depending on the time of day. With 50 floors, Die Turm is a multi-use building with the first 10 floors dedicated to office space, while the rest of the floors offer luxurious apartments. Visitors can also take in the breathtaking view of the city from the observation deck on top of the building. Whether you're a tourist or a resident, Die Turm is a must-see attraction that showcases the best of modern architecture.
