nalibia__346805t2.pngThe Holy Empire of Nalibia is a multi-ethnic nation unified under a single faith. Over the past thousands of years the people of Nalibia have fought and reunified several times. The first unification referred to as the first founding happened around 2130BF under Akachi the unfaithful; whom also founded the present day state religion. Akachi is still revered by all peoples of Nalibia to this day. More recently the nation was officially reunified in 1015AF under it's present day constitution.

Major Good

  • Religion- The Priesthood of Nalibia is the Theocratic Government Branch of the nation. It is first and foremost dedicated to preserving the Religious integrity of the nation; while preserving both the traditions and culture of the people. It does this through its three religious orders being; The Order of Wisdom- Which is responsible for the Nation's education system. The Order of Understanding- Which is responsible for Disease Control and Prevention, and Medicine through scientific research in natural sciences. It is also in control of regulating the Agriculture sector. And lastly The Order of Knowledge- Which regulate communications by radio, television, wire, satellite, and cable in all the nation's territories.

This in turn means the people of Nalibia are slow to embrace social change of any kind; preserving a sense of ethnic an national pride; causing them to be well educated in many fields of Humanities and Social Sciences. It is said, "If it is done today in Nalibia, it has been done that way the last 1,000 years,"

  • Military- Nalibia has made a commitment to security, and maintains a moderately sized modern armed forces within it's means. The Nalibian military is made up of six major branches which include; the ArmyNavyAir LegionYasherRoyal Guard and Peace Corp. Upon reaching the age of 20; male citizens are conscripted into one of these six branches of their choice. Females may also join the military though they do not serve on the frontline. Males whom do not wish to serve in the military full time will complete 14 weeks of basic training before being sent into their respective branch for further training in a specialty military occupation. After all training is complete these males are treated as reserve forces and allowed to return to civilian life to resume their normal lives. They will report to their respective post monthly; becoming intimately familiar with their terrain, honing their skills and learning guerrilla tactics in case of invasion. Exemptions are given to the handicapped and mentally impaired, however if they wish to serve in the reserve; even they can be accepted to work as clerks, cooks, janitor staff, etc. As males in the reserve become older they are required to appear to their monthly post less.

20-24: Every month for three to six days
25-29: Every two month for three to six days
30-34: Every three month for three to six days
35-39: Every three month for three days
40-45: Every four month for three days
46: Honorably Discharged and No longer required to present to post.

If a non-exempt male refuses to serve before the age of 35, he will be disqualified to vote, unable to own land, and disallowed to hold any government office for two generations (this includes princes holding their title and being allowed to present themselves to the Elder High Priest for "Selection Of Ascension").

Nalibia controls it's own military industrial complex though it does partner and buy equipment from other governments. Despite it's impressive military, historically Nalibia is peaceful (at least to outside nations) and more prone to isolation from "bad actors" than invading its lands. Most conflicts Nalibia have engaged in are civil, or due to defending its allies, or as part of coalitions against "bad actors".

Nalibia believes maintaining a strong military allows them to control their own destiny; thus they stockpile and train as if war may happen tomorrow. However, it is more likely for other nation to see Keepers of the Peace Corp. rendering aid after natural disaster as opposed to Cherubim of the Yasher and bombs from the Air Legion.

Minor good

  • Monarchy- The Monarchy of Nalibia is the Royal Government Branch of the nation; with an Emperor/King of Kings ruling over the nation. Each province is divided into smaller territories ruled by elected Perfects of the people. These Perfects answer to a Hereditary Monarch whom rules over the whole province as king or queen. In turn these kings and queens answer to the Emperor himself; which is also Hereditary, whom as stated before acts as head of State. This means democracy only exist at the local level with the Perfects being the equivalent of mayors.

Due to elections being only local; the people are less caught up in the cults of personality regarding elected officials, nor do they have loyalty to political parties. The people pay very close attention to and almost worship the Monarchy whom are very well loved by the people due to cultural and national pride. However, this love is fickle; as when their lives are disrupted for too long they know exactly where the royal families live; which historically speaking, the mob has claimed the death of a few monarchs of times past.

  • Civil Rights- The Constitution and Eternal Rights are documents which outline the rights of the people of Nalibia. The Supreme Court; which is the Judicial Government Branch of the nation, role is to protect and maintain these rights. As Nalibia is also theocratic in part, so you can imagine some "freedoms/rights" are non-existent, but not to the level you would think. Women are free to own their own businesses. Children are free to pursue careers of their choosing. Political free speech and protest are protected, and everyone has the right to a fair day in court.

Civil Rights are important for a healthy and happy nation, and this is not lost on the people of Nalibia, but simple because one can and wants, does it make it a "right" to do so?

Major Bad

  • Space Exploration- Space is a major area where Nalibia lacks. Even in this age of technology Nalibia does not wish to explore space any further than low-earth orbit. No Nalibians have been to space nor the moon. Through an under-funded national space program the NSA (Nalibian Space Agency) has managed to launch a few communication satellites into orbit for public and military use.

This means those seeking to explore space further have had to migrate to nations with more advanced space programs. In turn the people of Nalibia worry if they are losing their best and brightest to other nations.

  • Social Equity- While it is acknowledged that old remnants and even present day bigotry, economic class, crime and misfortune can stunt ones ability to have access to the proper tools to succeed; When it comes to the economy and society, Nalibia believe in meritocracy. This mean there are no affirmative action quotas to help those seeking to escape the ills of there environment. What the government has done is try to better the schools of low income communities, and build state funded trade schools. As well as crack down on crime and corruption which steal state funds from communities that need it.

Nalibia may appear cold in this regard, but they wish for the world to know, they are not heartless.

Minor bad

  • Eco-Friendliness- While the nation has invested into renewable energy, and sees itself as stewards of it's land; it also has made it clear that it has no intention of ever fully going green. With it's outright ban of personal electric vehicles, refusal to sign any climate treaties, and blatant denial of man-made climate change, Nalibia has made it clear that the environment is not it's main priority. All this said however, Nalibia does have very green cities with flora built into it's architecture, national parks, state run wildlife reserves and conservation efforts. The newly established Nalibian Green Party has managed to take a few seats in parliament, showing that the people of Nalibia maybe becoming more green conscience beyond aesthetics.

Time will tell if Nalibia's anti-green intentions are purely in protecting it's own national sovereignty, or if it truly does not care about the environment. As many still believe, "this whole climate change scare may just be a fad anyway,"

  • Taxes- Nalibia has a flat tax rate that is completely voluntary, and in the event a citizen choses to pay taxes; the citizen choses where 75% of their taxes go. This leaves many sectors of government underfunded. To work around this, each year the sectors of the government that are underfunded are allowed to sell bonds to the public. These bonds are credited toward the citizens' taxes the next year allowing them to owe less or even nothing. This creates a tail chasing affect as some sectors never receives the funding it needs, and previously well funded sectors find themselves selling bonds the following year. Not paying your taxes does come with some draw backs however; as a person whom does not pay taxes can not benefit in some government services such as but not limited to; taking part in any elections, using the courts to bring forth a legal lawsuit nor be part of any class action lawsuits, etc.. But a citizen will also not be summoned or forced to serve on any jury that year.

While this is a problem some experts have argued that having to sell bonds keeps the public informed of the functions each sector provides. Arguably for the better, it has also allowed the private sector to create businesses to compensate underfunded areas; though these private sectors in government function are highly regulated and treated with great skepticism.

Further Summary.

Mouzumbo– Mouzumbo is a stew serve over hot cooked rice that is popular throughout the empire, and is the official national cuisine. Great Mouzumbo starts with roux, a flavorful thickening agent made from equal parts fat and flour. Once the roux is a deep golden color add beef, lamb or goat (sometimes all three), and the "holy trinity" – celery, bell peppers, and onions are added. Lastly a thickener is added; Mouzumbo is often categorized by the type of thickener used, whether okra or filé powder.

Government Spending– Nalibia provides multiple programs such as universal healthcare, welfare, and free college tuition for its citizens. Due to state control of it's natural resources Nalibia has more money to spend on it citizens than some other nations may have. In addition to the previously mentioned programs, the government also provides housing for newlyweds, public school funding, social security, unemployment, workers compensation and public libraries to name a few.

Energy Sector– Nalibia's power is generated primarily by fossil fuels, mostly being natural gas. However, in the past few years Nalibia has begun to explore green options such as solar, wind and hydro electric options. Nalibia's electric grid is maintained by it's state run Energy Council headed by the royal family of each province.

Natural Resources– All non-renewable natural resources in Nalibia are state controlled. Renewable resources such as lumber and fishing are strictly regulated, but allowed to be owned and controlled by the private sector and market. The popular view is that the resources of the land belong to the people, not just one family, nor select investors. To this end all people of the nation benefit from the mining and gathering of the wealth of the land.

Economy Sector– Nalibia has a capitalist economy for the most part, but some sectors fall under state control. Water, electricity, gas and communications fall under State control. Essential foods such as rice, wheat and potatoes are subsidized by the government, and their price to sell is regulated. That said however, the private sector still owns and maintains most of the empire's economic industries such as Manufacturing, Production, Technology, Stocks and Trade, Retail, most of the Agriculture, and Entertainment to name a few.

Taxation– Nalibia has a voluntary flat income tax rate for all citizens. A person who does not pay taxes is not allowed to take part in elections; to vote nor can they run for political office, they are not eligible for government programs, nor can they file claims in courts. It should be stated that citizens whom do not pay taxes are allowed to defend themselves in court and are allowed to report crimes, they are just not allowed to file civil claims or bring petitions before the government. For non-citizen residents however it is non-voluntary, with them paying a slightly higher flat rate.

Provincial Parliament– Each province has its own Parliament sometimes referred to as the Legislative Minor Government Branch; with the power to pass laws to govern its province as long as the laws are not unconstitutional, nor in opposition to the Laws of the faith, nor in opposition to imperial Law. Once a law is created by parliament with a simple majority vote it is than approved or rejected by the Provincial Ruler; needing a 2/3rd majority to be enacted if the ruler rejects the law’s creation. Once a law is created by Parliament it stays in affect for only 50 years; After which it needs to be brought to the floor to be voted on and re-enacted into law again. The Parliament also decides where to allocate taxes of the province, with a small percentage allocated to the Imperial Government. The Provincial Parliament may also hold hearings and inquiries into matters regarding the province of the Parliament, but do not have the power to summon its ruler. The people also elect local judges, prosecutors, sheriffs, treasures and other such offices which there territory may need. Representatives are elected as advisors to the king/queen and Emperor allowing the needs and wants of the people to be heard via their respective.

Lastly the Parliament falls under the power of the Theocratic, Judicial and Royal branches in function, and checks non of the powers of the three main branches of government in turn.

The Priesthood– Nalibia's Priesthood is part of its government. Its role is to check the power of the Royal Rulers and Supreme Court to assure the Laws of the Faith are preserved. It has no power to make new laws, but does have the authority to enforce the Laws of the Faith, and may pass edicts (laws of past rulers). The Main role of the Priesthood is to carry out and teach the tenets of the faith throughout the nation. The Elder High Priest is the head of the Priesthood overseeing all orders of the faith. He has the responsibility of choosing the successor to the various Royal Rulers of Nalibia, and can repeal or nullify any law passed by the Parliament or Royal Rulers that go against the Laws of the Faith.

The Supreme Court– The Supreme Court of Nalibia is one of the three Balances of power; the other two being the Priesthood and the Royal families. Its role is to check the power of the Royal rulers and Priesthood to assure the constitution is upheld. Made up of lawyers and judges the Supreme Court oversees the Judicial branch of the government. It has no power to pass law, but can repeal or nullify any law passed by the Parliament or Royal Rulers deemed to be unconstitutional. There are seven Supreme Judges holding the highest office of the Nalibian Supreme Court called Mishpats. Two are appointed by the Emperor, two are appointed by vote of the other Royals, two more are appointed by the Elder High Priest, and lastly one is appointed by popular vote of the people being the only office of the Three Branches which is elected into power. All Mishpats serve until retirement at the age of 70 unless they resign or are removed from office.

Royal Rulers– The Royal Rulers, rule over the provinces of Nalibia within the limitations of the Supreme Court and Priesthood. Nefalme/Nenala, meaning king/queen is the proper title of the Provincial Rulers of Nalibia. Passing laws, pronouncing judgments, administering resources, and meeting with foreign diplomates and dignitaries are but a few duties of a Royal Ruler. Each sits as a head of state over his or her own province; with the emperor ruling over the entire nation welding Imperial authority over the other provinces, as well as his own province. The Royal Rulers also decides where to allocate profits from the state-run industries of their province, with a small percentage allocated to the Imperial Government. When a Royal Ruler dies, all laws made or enacted by that ruler are enforced for no more than 50 years of the time in which they were first enacted. The succeeding ruler, the Parliament and the Priesthood may enact these newly repealed laws as edicts if they so wish to.

The Emperor- Negumalchei which means King of Kings in the Nalibian language, is the proper title of the Emperor of Nalibia. Still classified as part of the Royal Branch of Government; the Negumalchei acts as Head of State of the empire, Imperial Leader of the Armies during war, and holds exclusive powers not limited to; calling for a vote for war, make treaties with the approval of the other Royal Rulers, implementing Imperial law over the whole of the nation, represent the nation in talks with foreign Heads of State, granting pardons of imperial criminals, and appointing ambassadors. The laws which the Negumalchei pass can be repealed or nullified if deemed unconstitutional by the Supreme Court, or if found to be in contradiction to the Holy Law of the faith. These law stay in effect for 60 years after being enacted, and can be passed as edicts by the succeeding Negumalchei, or by a 2/3 vote of the Royal Rulers. The Imperial House of Melzedek is the current ruling family of the nation, and has been the ruling family since the Constitutional Founding of 1015AF.

Nalibian Holidays, Holy Days and other Celebrations

Every nation has its unique or even shared special occasions unto itself. Nalibia is no different in this regard; 1 holy day is kept once a week and another which is kept once a month. There are 3 holy days that are dedicated to their god EUEI that are kept once a year, and 5 holidays which are unique to its people in form or the way it is held; which are also kept yearly. Lastly there is 1 holiday in the nation that is celebrated ever 7 years. An important note however is that due to Nalibia's location at the equator the seasons of Spring, Summer, Fall and winter don't really translate. The year is simply divided into four quarters of alternating wet and dry seasons, and the Nalibian months are numbered 1st through 12th, starting in their first wet season. Finally a 13th month is added to the calendar every 3 years for the same function that the Markan calendar includes leap years.

Weekly and Monthly Holy Days

  • 7th day rest: Considered one of the most holy observances, every 7th day starting from the New Moon. Work is not done on this day. In observance to their belief of a six day creation, the people of Nalibia do not work on this day. Only first responders and essential jobs still work on these days; for this reason today Nalibia implemented a two day weekend assuring that those whom had to work the official 7th day would be allowed a day off on the following. On the official 7th day all stores and businesses are closed, but they are allowed to reopened the following day. However, non-essential government buildings and banks will not reopen until the 2nd day of the week.

  • The New Moon Festival: The New Moon is a holy day, and is the first day of Nalibia's month. The Priesthood of Nalibia will gather at the Elder High Temple to present to their god EUEI a burnt offering of two young bulls, one ram and seven male lambs of one year in age each, all without defect. Each of the animal sacrifices was to be accompanied by a grain offering and a drink offering. In addition to burnt offerings, a goat is to be sacrificed to EUEI as a sin offering. The New Moon festival mark the consecration to their god each new month through the year. New Moon festivals are treated as a 7th day, and are marked by sacrifices, the blowing of horns over the sacrifices, and social or family feasts. On this day all non-essential government buildings and banks are closed.

  • Visiting Night: This holy day is observed on the 15th day of the 4th month of the year, Nalibinites celebrate the day Akachi was given "Truth". On the 8th day of the month a sacred assembly is held by all citizens regardless of status or ethnicity save for the men whom are uncircumcised (as they have not accepted "Truth"), and another on the 15th day. No work is done at all on these two days; except first responders, military, essential personal and those needed to prepare food for everyone to eat on the 14th night. On these two days all non-essential government building and banks are closed. Fasting begins on the 8th day for all men of Nalibia, and last until the eating of the lamb or goat on the 14th night.

On the tenth day of the fourth month each man is to take a lamb or goat for his family, one for each household. If any household is too small for a whole lamb or goat, they must share one with their nearest neighbor, having taken into account the number of people there are. They are to determine the amount of lambs or goats needed in accordance with what each person will eat. On the 14th day the lamb or goat of 1 year in age without defect is sacrificed at midnight. That same night they are to eat the lamb or goat roasted over the fire with its head and legs all attached, along with bitter herbs, sweet bread baked without yeast, and red wine outside under the stars. The meat is not allowed to be prepared in any other way. None of the meat is to be left till morning, and if some is; then it is buried. No leavened bread is sold, bought or consumed for these 7 days. During the feast the Nalibinite people minister to all about the goodness and blessings of EUEI and how their god came to Akachi to teach him The Holy Law.

  • Meseret: This holy day is observed on the 1st day of the 6th Month. Asmerom Meseret was an acting High Priest over the land of Dedan during the Era of Chaos. It was he who first started the purification rite to mark a persons devotion to EUEI and cleanse them of there past sins. Today Meseret is observed as the day of baptism, when a person of at least 16 years of age accepts the faith. No one before this age is allowed to be baptized as it is considered to be a serious commitment of someone professing their devotion to EUEI. On this day speeches are made by important church figures and the waters of the land are blessed. Participants then are baptized in rivers, streams, lakes, springs and other bodies of water across the nation. Families and communities feast in grand celebration to welcome all new members to the faith.

  • Festival of Lights: Held on the 6th Night of the 7th month of the year, Hero's Day is a holiday dedicated to men and women who have died in service to Nalibia. On this night a lantern is lite and released into the sky, or on paper boats in memory of a love one that was lost at war. Families will typically feast outside on this day and offer a burnt sacrifice of a Dove or Pigeon to their god EUEI. Military Parades and demonstrations are also held on the main street of towns and cities during the day. On this day all non-essential government buildings and banks are closed.

  • Harvest Day: Held on the 21st day of the 8th month of the year. This holiday is held in two ways. If the season brought a good harvest, or your family had a good year then the family holds a feast. But if the family had a poor harvest, or a bad year then it is a day of fasting and reflection. Both families will make a sacrifice of Grain to EUEI and pray, asking for a good following year and giving thanks for what they have as well as think each other for allowing EUEI to work through family and friends to help them through difficult times. On this day all non-essential government buildings and banks are closed.

  • Horfun: Horfun means Parents Giving, and this holiday is observed on the 20th day of the 9th month. This day parents give gifts to their children to teach them about charity, wishing and bringing others joy, being merry and jolly, and making it a year to remember with friends and loved ones. This celebration accompanies a large feast as extended families gather together at their eldest father's home. A dove or pigeon is offered as a Burnt sacrifice to EUEI, and an animal from the flock is typically eaten for the feast. On this day all non-essential government buildings and banks are closed.

  • Day of Atonement: This holy day is observed on the 10th day of the 10th month as the day of atonement for sins. Nalibinites call it the Holy of holy days, and it is treated as a 7th day upon which one must afflict one's soul. Its central themes are atonement and repentance. Nalibinite people traditionally observe this holy day with an approximate 25-hour period of fasting, intensive prayer, giving to charity, and making amends with family, friends and neighbors. Most Nalibinites go to their local temple and sing with the choir as all broadcast stations except local and national news are shut down for the day. On this day there is no eating and drinking, no wearing of leather shoes, only wearing cotton and wool, no bathing or washing, no anointing oneself with perfumes or lotions and no marital relations. Unlike most other Nalibian holy days there is no feast or celebrations as this day is set apart to show humility before EUEI. On this day all non-essential government buildings and banks are closed.

  • The Gathering: This seven-day holiday is held on the 2nd week of the 11th month of the year. Each of the 7 days is dedicated to a Nalibian principle. The whole of communities gather together usually in the center of their town to fellowship with one another. The first day is Faith: To believe with all our hearts in our people, our parents, our teachers, our leaders, and the righteousness and victory of our faith in EUEI. The second day is Unity: To strive for and to maintain unity in the family, community, faith and nation. The third day is Self-Determination: To define and name ourselves, as well as to create and speak for ourselves, and also be an example of the blessings that comes with service and obedience to EUEI. The forth day is Collective Work and Responsibility: To build and maintain our community together and make our brothers' and sisters' problems our problems and to solve them together in observance to the laws of EUEI. The fifth day is Cooperative Economics: To build and maintain our own stores, shops, and other businesses, and to profit from and with them together. The sixth day is Purpose: To make our collective vocation the building and developing of our Nation in order to maintain the greatness of our people, and to be “a light of righteousness to all nations”. The seventh night is on the 7th day, and all the observances of the 7th day are in affect. It's Principle is Creativity: To do always as much as we can, in the way we can, in order to leave our community and Nation more beautiful and beneficial than we inherited it from our fathers. This day ends with a family prayer and marks the end of the gathering. On these days all non-essential government buildings and banks work half the day.

Province Celebrations
Besides the Holy days and Celebrations mentioned above which are kept though out the whole of the Empire, there is also Celebrations that are unique to individual provinces or which are observed at different times.

  • Royal Birthdays: In Nalibia the birthdays of Royals are celebrated as Province Holidays. The celebration begins with a firework display followed by a party attended by high officials, aristocrats and celebrities at the palace of the Ruler at sundown. Before the firework display begins the Elder High priest or High priest will begin with a prayer of praise to EUEI, accompanied by the sacrifice of an ox, lamb, and goat. A benefit concert; open to the public, is held for charity in front of the ruler's Palace; preformed by an A-list talent. Banks and Government buildings are open on these days.
    Untitleddesign.thumb.png.14aca1b7c7a6b131c6df28f39274b23b.png

  • Election Days: Because elections are important to the function of governance; election days are treated as minor holidays. Banks and Government buildings are closed on these days, to assure that all households are able to have their voice and interest heard via the casting of their vote. Private parties are sometimes held in anticipation of election results, but the only true right way to celebrate the election day of your province; is for your household to cast its vote.

  • Greenest Day: This Celebration is held in Geo, the capital of Shay-Riyadh province on the 1st day in the 2nd month of the year. For a time from 1337-1350 AF all drugs were banned in Shay-Riyadh. Like any prohibition this led to organized crime and violence. But on the 1st day of the 2nd month in 1350 AF King Ula abolished the law in grand fashion. He himself before the people apologized for what he called a foolish law, and lite a joint which he shared with his wife and newly released prisoners that were arrested for drug use and possession. The next year the people of Shay-Riyadh threw a celebration commemorating the abolishment of the law and the king's willingness to correct his own law out of his love for his people; by sharing joints with friends and neighbors. It has since turned into a yearly 6-day cultural feast in which thousands of musicians, cooks and craftspeople welcome hundreds of thousands of tourist and visitors from around the world, with music concerts from big name international as well as local performers, rides, games and vendors. The celebration begins with the monarch lighting a joint which is passed to the crowd, and the festival ends with an award winning artist's music performance. On these days government buildings and banks are open.

  • The Festival of Rejoice: Starting on the 1st night of the 3rd week of the 5th month during the first dry season, and ending on the 6th night of the same week. (City and province TBD) becomes the culture hub of Nalibia, and is the biggest tourist attraction of the whole year. The festival is an annual celebration thrown to celebrate Nalibian sovereignty, patriotism, its multi-ethnic heritage and letting the good times roll. Parades are marched in front of the Royal palace as teams of scantily clad dancers use traditional and interpretive dance to commemorate Nalibian history, mythology and culture on grand rolling stages. The spectacle is accompanied with music, public intoxication and parties that last all night. The origins of the Festival is itself a mystery with tales of it being a festival to celebrate the sugarcane burning before harvest, slave rebellions and even others saying it was in celebration of the end of fasting for the "Visiting Night" holy day. Regardless of the reason the Festival has become a holiday unto itself with no one calling for its end in the foreseeable future. Within the city and surrounding towns, all non-essential government buildings are closed, but banks are open for limited hours for this week long celebration.

Nalibian Culture and Pastimes

The entire Empire is religiously homogeneous, but culturally the provinces vary from province to province. Not withstanding Nalibia has a proud Culture base shared across the empire, which many progressive nations sometimes find controversial, but some of these old traditions are seen as exotic and something to celebrate. With thousands of years to culturally develop, Nalibia is unique to say the least. It's people and places are ancient and slow to change, yet sometimes progressive and modern developing on their own terms. A few of these customs are:

moon_12-2011.jpg.2d1b320ed4e96b21c60c792f0ad5fe7f.jpg

Lunar Calender: Nalibia uses a Lunar Calendar. Based on the observational lunar cycle. This calendar has 12 months marked by the New Moon except every three years when it has a 13th month. This maybe confusing for some tourist that use the Markan Calendar when visiting Nalibia is in its 13th month. Nalibia also does not have named months. They are numbered 1st thru 13th and the same goes for their weekdays. Nalibia days also begin at dusk when the sun goes down rather then at midnight or at dawn when the sun is rising.

EUEI: Nalibians credits everything to their god. Almost every aspect of life is centered around worshipping him. Daily sacrifices and prayers at noon are the norm in the Empire. If you ever visit the Empire you will find a strange balance between devotion to EUEI and self pleasure. The name of their god is taken serious in Nalibia, and blasphemy against him even as a foreigner will carry a death sentence. All the The Laws of Akachi are enforced throughout the Empire by the Priesthood, and believed to all have come from their god. Nalibia does not allow the public building of places of worship. Every place of worship is built by the Nalibian Priesthood. Other religions are instead allowed to gather in private homes, but not on any public property, parks, commercial building or any public tv broadcast. As doing so would be seen as a form of idolatry to their god. Some exceptions have been made to other monotheistic faiths that are seen as similar to The Holy Law, but the Priesthood would still be responsible for approving, building and owning such places of worship. Being a member of another faith in itself is not a crime and other religions do call Nalibia home, but they are expected to obey the law, including and more importantly The Holy Law just like everyone else.

Freedom of Speech: Nalibians enjoy political free speech. Nalibia's version of free speech may seems limited and censored. In other nations talking negatively or making fun of the President or Prime Minister is normal and in some cases a symbol of freedom, but in Nalibia doing such things to important Imperial or spiritual leaders can get you in serious trouble. With that said the Empire actually allows the press and individuals to criticize policy and government programs as long as facts are presented to support their claims. It is even legal to talk directly to your local ruler or even the Emperor (granted you go through a process) to bring complaints directly to them. Another difference is Freedom of Speech in other nations extend into Art, entertainment and even celebrity gossip; in Nalibia no such freedom exists. The press has no right to pry into the lives of non-government officials such as singers and actors, and even then, petty gossip of a government official or spiritual leader is limited to what can be proven and seen as relevant to their office. The Priesthood of Nalibia also proudly censors content in music, movies, books, television and other expressions of art and media. There is no penalty for owning a banned book or movie, but distributing it or allowing a public viewing can see you put in Jail for many years and/or fined. Social media is another area where free speech is limited. For example, uploading a fake or false news post can get you a serious fine which can lead to jail time in Nalibia. Again, you are within your right to spread or share your political view or opinion no matter how unorthodox or controversial it may be as long as the examples you give are true and as long as your post does not directly call for violence.

Prayer Towers: In every city of Nalibia a Prayer Tower is built 500ft High on the tallest hill or mountain. If a building is planed to be built within five mile of the tower that will become the Highest in the city, it must be built with a Prayer Tower on top to replace the existing tower. These towers are the highest floor of the city and can not be rented out. For 24hours a day and 7 days a week on the Highest floor a team of thirteen prayer warriors pray over the city in shifts. There is also a praise team which play worship music 24 hours of the day. This team will use instruments to worship and praise EUEI in song and dance in shifts the same as the prayer warriors. No one who is not on shift is allowed on the highest floor, but The second highest floor is open to the public for prayer.

Skin to Skin: In Nalibia best friends and family members hold hands normally. It is seen as a sign of love, caring and shared interest. On the opposite end however, if you are a stranger putting out your hand for a handshake may make a Nalibian think you are lonely as you only touch skin to skin with people who you are close to. Touching skin to skin is believed to exchange spiritual energy between people and thus Nalibians do not touch skin to skin with people they do not know (or dislike). If you are a man you never touch skin to skin with a woman you do not know as it is seen as you making a sexual advance toward her, and if you are a woman never try to touch skin to skin with a man you don't know as it is seen in the same way, but can also be taken as you soliciting him. Public display of affection between couples are common. Holding hands, kissing, long glances and even intercourse between lovers are healthy signs of caring and bonding in Nalibia. Love and affection is something to be displayed between people who care for one another; and is believed to make communities stronger by caring for their fellow human beings.

race.jpeg.a0e56ce3cd622e99c1a67026cae980d1.jpeg

Diversity: Nalibia is rich in ethnic diversity. It's world trade market and its past part in slavery has caused people from all around the world to be represented in Nalibia. It may comfort some to know there is a chance to find people that look like them in this strange land. In its own right Nalibia is a melting pot of people, but don't expect to see much cultural diversity. Nalibians is and has always been Nalibia and they protect their culture identity zealously. With that said what you will not find in the empire is racism. In Nalibia white, yellow or other shades of brown skin do not make you less Nalibian or less entitled to protection and help under the law.

solaria-2br-exterior.thumb.jpg.e9146d67976d131100f167f1bc3b6207.jpg

Housing: Nalibia has a high population, but their population density is low with plenty of unused land. This is because while most all other nations build/spread out, Nalibians stacks up. Most children actually never move out their parent's house, instead when a son reaches around 16 years of age the house is expanded adding a new living quarter with it's own living room, kitchen, greenspace, library, 2-3 master bedrooms, 2-4 bedrooms and 3 1/2 bathrooms. Today these homes resembles a large apartment complex or even a small palaces. Brothers, cousins, fathers, uncles and grandfathers going back 3 or even 4 generations stay in one super structure with their wives and children. This keeps families close and adds a new meaning to marrying into the family. Nalibia as a result have few elderly homes as it is shameful for a family to not take care of their own. Around 648 BF when the  Great Library of Yatham was destroyed in a fire; Nalibians worried about the preservation of it's libraries and it's own history. Due to this event since that time all new houses are required to include a room dedicated as a library room. When a couple gets married the Priesthood will entrust them with 3-5 ancient book copies for them to preserve and pass down to their children. Because of Nalibia's high population in the 1200s the law was amended to include a Greenspace or Aquaponics system, and amended again in 1920 to include fire system. To this day Nalibian homes are built in this same way.

Family Governance: According to law in Nalibia every child is subject to their father regardless of age. This means grandfathers are the family leaders in Nalibia. If a person commits a petty crime where they are required to pay the victim compensation, or if a person is sued they do not carry this penalty alone. Instead it is shared by his whole family tracing up to his oldest living grandfather. This means his father, uncles, adult male cousins and brothers all carry the financial burden. Due to this families typically pool money together with a family treasurer (usually a grandmother) whom gives loans and financing within the family before seeking a loan from a bank. The Government of Nalibia also enables families to handle legal internal disputes, allowing them to sentence family member to provincial prisons or other such penalties of the provincial courts. These family courts only need two lawyers that are non family members to be a witness and a stenographer appointed by the court to keep record; which is sealed to the court and public except upon request of three members of the family. This allows families to handle shameful or embarrassing matters that can arise; without bringing scandal upon the whole family while holding the accused accountable, so the victim's grievance is not covered up. It is important to note that these courts can only be held if both the accuser and accused are members of the same family, and also does not apply to murder and other capital offense crimes. If two families that are married into one another have a dispute, a third family can act as a court on behalf of both families. In addition the verdict of the family court can be appealed to the provincial courts by either the accused or the accuser. Lastly, a family member whom is rebellious or commits a serious crime can be removed from the family, and be forced to take a new last name in order to protect the family’s name and honor. This family member under law is classified as a blood bastard though they still maintain their citizen statues.

History and Journal Keeping: Nalibia since the beginning of their civilization have been keepers of History. Knowing your family and national history in Nalibia is seen as the most important thing a man should know only second to his relationship to EUEI, as it is believed if a man does not know his past he can never know himself or his god. Every house in Nalibia has a library or at least a room set aside to be used as one. At the wedding ceremony it is Nalibian custom to present the husband and bride with a copy of an ancient book to keep in their care. In Nalibia all men keep a journal of their life. Walk into any house and you will see a shelf of books and/or scrolls with the writings of their pass fathers and mothers some in rare cases dating back over 3000 years. There are even laws passed which forbid anyone to read a man or woman's journal before they die, or to use the writings of a person's journal in court while they live. Even the monarchs of Nalibia keep journals, which in turn have preserved firsthand accounts of Nalibian history, and some journals are even best sellers around the world. The Journal of Empress Vivi or also known as Nalibia's Kama Sutra is an example of this. Historical movies in Nalibia are typically the highest grossing of the year, but also can totally bomb if the film is presented as historical and is found to be historically inaccurate.

Healthy Debate: Politics, religion, science, conspiracy all of it is up for debate in Nalibia. As a matter of fact, if you are a native Nalibian and have nothing controversial to talk about then you are seen as foolish as it implies you are not involved in your community. No place is off limits for a healthy debate and young children are taught debating skills starting in 1st grade. Debating is also seen as a healthy way to keep minds sharp and keep people intellectual. Sometimes you can find a person willing to debate you even though they agree with your point just to stay healthy. When in Nalibia if you find someone with time on their hands and have a 3rd party willing to mediate, bring up a topic. They will gladly talk with you till either you or they have to go. And if the topic is interesting enough you can draw a crowd like a school yard fight. What is amazing about Nalibian debates is their ability to not invest emotions into the discussion. This is due most because if you make a personal attack they will formally communicate what you did to give you a chance to apologize. If you do not they will end the debate and your reputation by any on lookers will take a hit, however if the insult was great enough you will be forced to fight. Yes, trail by combat is an acceptable means to settle a debate in Nalibia. The police in most cases are called, but not to break up the fight; rather they are called to insure the fight does not escalate any further. Even if you win the debate or the fight it is customary to share a drink after. As far as Nalibians are concerned words can not hurt them, but mutual respect is an important part of their honor system.

MichaelHarperfrom250Site.jpg.75526007a3c5260033c814271142ccc3.jpg

Scholar of Philosophy: In Nalibia Schools of leaning are built by Philosophers. Even though they are schools of learning one of their biggest attractions is their fighting skills. A philosopher is a man or woman who specialize in a particular trade, profession or field of study. It is a high honor in Nalibia to be recognized as a Philosopher; This will take many years of studying under a Philosopher, then working for many years in your field, then being recognized by other Philosophers with an Understanding of your field of study, while remaining active in that field. A philosopher must also be a master of a Martial Art. Yes, to be recognized as a Philosopher you must fight in a hand to hand ritual open to the public. This ritual was created to keep men from creating fighting styles that do not actually work or have practical use in a real fight. These schools focus on a single or multiple Martial Art style as well as a specialty. The specialty can be any skill such as art (painting, sculpting, dancing and music production/composure are a few examples), vocational trade (such as carpentry, auto mechanics, welding, architecture and engineering) or a field of Science or History. In every town and city market square you will find a circle stage; built about 3ft off the ground. In these rings it is typical to see two or more philosophers debating on most any subject from theology to music and art to even quantum physics. Major debates are held every month, but sometimes you can find two Philosophers in a physical hand to hand exhibition to demonstrate one’s Martial art style above another, or sometimes two philosophers will use the same style and wish to show himself superior over his rival. Think of a Scholar as a pupil or student of a Dojo that is also a trade school, and think of the Philosopher as a College Professor and Dojo Master. Being recognized as a philosopher is important because they are the only non-priest that can teach at the temple university. They are also often called before the monarchs or even the emperor to head up projects and programs.

i_demand_a_trial_by_combat_photo_print-rd59f04a961d64d63a5e90c692f224f0e_a0ib_8byvr_540.jpg.dd47b288688abc23a023c3874b5c2d70.jpg

Trail by Combat: If ever involved in a lawsuit in a case of less then $5000 do not request a trail by combat. The judge is legally required to allow it if your accuser agrees. Once agreed both parties are legally required to fight or face 6 months in jail. A person can also request that someone else fight on their behalf granted that person must be in the courtroom during the time of the challenge. It's not as uncommon as one would believe to take place in Nalibia either. Courthouses are built with standards for fights in the court room, and the fight takes place that day in that room. These fights have never been to the death and are instead fist fights till one person gives up or is no longer able to fight. These fights are even allowed in disputes of traffic tickets where Trail by Combat is most common used due to the fact by law the Government must always accept a Trail by Combat challenge issued to it by a citizen; in such cases which require monetary compensation of $5000 or less, but unless you are extremely confident in your ability this is not recommended. By law only Nalibian citizens have the right of TBC, but some judges will accept your challenge. The police are well aware of this and so are trained in hand to hand combat such as boxing or Judo, and most courts have three designated fighters of the court whom for a living handles challengers of the state, thus they are professional fighters. For a Nalibian this is not as big a deal as most men are Scholars or Philosophers of a school and were brought up learning hand to hand combat, but for a tourist who is not trained it will likely not end well, and you will be responsible for your own medical bills as is the rules of Trial By Combat.

Mutual Combat allows personal disputes to be handled the same way only needing the marshal or a deputy present to sanction the 1v1 fight, and in the case of youths; for their father, uncle, grandfather or older brother to agree. The fight would take place at that moment once the officer allows. These fights consist of two 3-minute rounds, or until one side quits or can't fight any longer. Once the fight is over; the winner is required to buy the other a drink, or in the case where both rounds passed with no clear winner, both parties must buy the other a drink. Only if the drinks are not bought and shared are the person(s) required to do so charged with battery, which carry in this case a penalty of seven days in jail and a court fine.

Nalibian City Planning: Unlike most nations Nalibia has always built up instead of spread out. Their zoning laws also mix commercial and residential areas together actually prioritizing walking over driven even after automobiles were becoming popular. This meant having some retail stores built into resident buildings near town centers and main streets, and putting most markets and stores in walking distance of homes. It is believed that roads are narrow in Nalibia because most major cities are 1000s of years old, and this is partially true; but besides major Highways and Imperial roads (Interstates Roads) the town and city roads are actually designed to be narrow so that cars are forced to move slower in these areas. You will also notice most new Nalibian homes and stores put garages and parking in the back instead of the front. This puts the front doors to the store or home right on the sidewalk of the town centers and markets areas of the town; again prioritizing walking over car use.

Gone Green: Nalibia is one of the greenest developed country on Esferos in spite of it's lack of interest in renewable energy. Its green city architecture has been stated as, "Feeling like never leaving the jungle," Nalibians view their land as a prized garden given to them by their god, so they also view themselves as caretakers of their land. Littering in Nalibia can get you in serious trouble ranging from a fine or public lashing or even jailtime depending on how great the offense. Those who visit the cities of Nalibia find that it is easy to get a snack as fruit barring trees and bushes literally line the streets, parks and buildings. It is perfectly legal to eat from these trees and bushes as long as you personally eat the fruit that day, only gather what you can carry without a small basket, don't break any branches to get the fruit and you leave 10% of the fruit in the tree. The tress all have colored ribbons hanging from its branches with each color representing a month. This is to tell you when the tree is in season to eat from it. If the tree is not in season it is against the law to eat from it. In this way they prolong the life of the trees and ensure future generations will enjoy the treasures of the land of their fathers.

No Plastic: To say Nalibia does not use plastic at all would not be true. Plenty of products depend on plastic and do still use it. But what Nalibia does not do is use plastic for containers and one-use items such as garbage and grocery bags. Instead Nalibians uses glass, metals, paper, wood, protein base, textiles, hemp, ect. By law all containers need to decompose or be 100% recyclable such as glass or tin.

Streets of Gold: The early explorers were not exactly lying when they spoke of the streets of Gold found in Nalibia. The Empire is rich in this natural resource, but the streets of the Imperial district is literally paved with… Brick and asphalt. What the early explorers actually was describing is, if you visit the capital cities of Nalibia, in the Imperial and Royal districts you will find Homes, Buildings and even people trimmed and decorated with gold. Gold is so abundant in Nalibia that silver used to back its currency due to gold inflation, but if you are planning on going get some cheap gold from Nalibia plan again. It is illegal to transport more than §1,000 of gold outside of the Empire in a year, and any amount more than §100 must be declared. Though some exceptions are made for electric produces and other goods which use gold in their manufacturing. Special gold detectors are used to scan all baggage and cargo leaving any port or airport, and being found to be transporting significant amounts out the country can be worse than drug smuggling. Nalibians are gold addicts, so when visiting inside any home you will find it decorated with Gold in some fashion.

Market Bazaars: Are you used to supermarkets where you can find all your food and household needs? Well it's a little different in Nalibia. Think of a Bazaar or farmer's market mixed with a modern grocery store. Usually built adjacent to town/community squares, Vendors sell their goods from fresh produce and meats to electronics and home decor'. Building a relationship with your vendor is key to getting the best prices and sometimes being offered the best in stock. The market Bazaar is built indoors with A/C and laid out somewhat like a modern store with a produce area, meat area, electronics section, clothing department, etc, but rather than dealing with aisle of food and goods on shelves you will find people offering you their goods willing to tell you who made it, where and how it was grown and how it was transported. Every item in the Market Bazaar has a story. Vendors buy space in the store to sell their goods, so each vendor stall is its own business and not mere employees of the Bazaar itself. You will even find a place to sit down and eat for a bit, usually this area is outside or in a courtyard of the Market. The Nalibian Market Bazaars are a busy social place, and a must visit for any tourist. We can promise you will find something worth trying or taking home to remember the trip.

Marriage: In the other nations a woman can symbolizes her marriage status in the form of jewelry, makeup, clothes or even hairstyles. In Nalibia women who are married cover their head by wearing any form of head dress while in public. Usually a married woman will wear a hijab, but she can wear a hat, scarf or any other forms of head wear. In Nalibia single women never cover their head in public except in prayer, so in this way it is clear who is available and who are not. A single woman who is looking for a potential suiter will typically wear a scarf around her neck. If she wants you to talk to her she will raise the scarf to cover her face while making eye contact with you. Culturally most men will not approach a woman without getting this subtle choosing signal first. 63% of Nalibian women will marry before the age of 25 years old, and 94% will have been married at least once before the age of 40. Men in Nalibia wear chain necklaces with a jeweled amulets to symbolize their marriage, though it is mostly worn only at formal or social events. The Amulet is customarily made of a precious metal 1.5 inches in diameter with a large gem in the center to symbolize his wife (the gem is of his wife's choosing) with smaller gems around it for each child she births to him. 70% of men will marry before the age of 30.

As part of the wedding ceremony, The amulet of the bride is presented by her father, and given to his daughter. She than gives the amulet to her husband whom adds it to his chain. The man will have bought the chain himself long before his wedding, and the material of the chain necklace is not strictly prescribed; but are typically forged of gold, rose gold, white gold, argentium silver, palladium, platinum, titanium, or tungsten carbide. Once the amulet is added to the groom's chain; the mother of the groom presents a head dress to her son which he uses to cover the brides head. These head dress are worn once being passed down to either her own daughters or her son's bride. Today women add a small blue tassel to the head dress each time it is passed down from a mother to a daughter (or in-law).

Polygyny: Polygyny is common in Nalibia being seen in their movies, regular TV programs and other forms of Art and media. A man will traditionally add an amulet to his chain in the same fashion as the first for each wife he has. 23% of married men between the ages of 18 and 30 have two or more wives. 52% of married men between the ages of 30 and 50 have at least two wives. Only 10% of all men in Nalibia will have more than three wives at once in their life time, and the empire will only recognize four women being married to one man at a time. It is also looked down upon for a man to have or have had more than four wives. It is stigmatized as him lacking self-control, being driven by lust and is seen as a display of poor leadership. Polygyny is so much a part of Nalibian culture that women will sometimes even find brides for their husband. Usually, it is a longtime friend or a cousin of the wife, but this is not always the case as men have the power to add women of their own choosing. When asked, most Nalibian women say they find wives for their husband because it frees them to be able to pursue a career, or the opposite being it brings in an extra income and allows them to focus more on the family. In Nalibia, polygyny is a system of family and nation building. It is rare you will find two women who stay home, or even rarer a polygynist marriage where both (all) the wives work and the man stays home, or no one at all stays home with the children. Polygyny is used as a tool to economically advance a family while not surrendering family values; such as what Nalibians claim to see in other nations where both parents work and no one is home with the kids, so the children are left to be raised by another family members or home alone. There is actually a social science to finding a woman who complements the wife instead of compete against her, and Nalibia has seemed to have mastered it.

The Nalibian Dowry and Bride price system: In Nalibia like most nations; marriage is a serious endeavor bringing two families together. When a man decides to take a woman for a bride his parents meet with the bride's parents and sets a price for the bride usually with a third-party or priest present to mediate. The bride price is typically 3 months’ salary of the would-be groom plus taking into consideration things such as if she is a virgin, does she have kids, was she married before, etc. which can add to or take away from the bride's value. In most cases a third party or priest mediates between the family to assure a fair price is set for the bride. A percentage of the bride price is used as a dowry by the bride's family. The dowry is given as a gift to the groom or to his parents from the bride's family. The gift can be livestock, a house, cash, Stock, etc.. However, in Nalibia a dowry is more so a marriage insurance plan. A dowry is not required for the marriage, but if one is paid and the couple later divorce the dowry is by law required to be returned to the bride to allow her to start a new life. Sometimes the dowry is sold and its value is split between the now ex-husband and ex-wife, but this only happens if their marriage contract demands it to be so. Also, if a wife abandons her husband or commits adultery the dowry is forfeit, and the husband does not have to pay it back once divorced. In Nalibia a marriage license is less of a document and more of a binding contract and prenuptial agreement. The contract is written up by the bride and groom's parents after the Bride Price has been set. In the contract it is outlined who gets what in the event of a divorce, what are the roles and responsibilities of the husband and the wife during the marriage, etc. If negotiated properly the marriage contract will make both the Husband and the Wife slaves to one another and less likely that the couple will divorce, even if only for economic reasons.

Legal Prostitution: Prostitution is the world's oldest profession, and it is legal in registered brothels which are also heavily regulated by the NWWA (Nalibian Woman's Welfare Agency). The regulations are more so to protect women from human trafficking, the spread of STDs and to assure the women are properly paid for their services. Working ladies are private contractors and are not employed by the brothels themselves. Instead the establishment has rooms set aside which the ladies rent out for a set amount of time and split a percentage of her earnings with the brothel. Due to these regulations the brothels of Nalibia are boasted as being the best found in Esferos. The price can range from $50-$2,000 an hour depending on the service provided and the establishment. Most all Nalibnite brothels are grand in design. Some Brothels are luxury resort casinos, but most are small palace like hotels. Foreign guess describe these palaces as a mix of a Bar and Grill, Hookah Lodge, Strip Club and hotel in one. Brothels are the late-night hangout spots of single Nalibian men; much like bars in some other nations, and are found in red-light districts of a city or a few miles outside of a town zoned for it. The rooms are by law well lite, clean, with finished walls for the safety and comfort of the guest as well as the working women. You could even rent out a room without a prostitute to stay for your visit at varying rates a night; again depending on the establishment and the room. Prostitutes distinguish themselves from other women by wearing an anklet. The wearing of an anklet is well known in Nalibian culture, so if a woman is wearing one it is almost assured she is a prostitute, but even if you know a woman is a prostitute do not approach her inappropriately, especially outside a brothel. Doing so can get you in serious trouble both with law enforcement and with any locals whom maybe in the area. Nalibia has a chivalry enforced code of conduct that is well established. It is legal for a prostitute to solicit you in public, but any services given must be done at a brothel. If you encounter a working lady outside of the Red-Light district, she will cover her face with a scarf or vail and stick out her leg showing that she is wearing an anklet. From there you can feel free to approach her and make arrangements to meet up at the establishment she works from.

Chivalry and Gender Roles: While every aspect is not enforced by law, Nalibia gender roles are clear and enforced socially. Men are expected to be masculine and fit exerting confidence, intelligence and assertiveness. While women are to be feminine and well groomed wielding beauty, smarts and humility becoming inspirational to all around her. All men are raised to treat women as if they were his own mother or sister, and all women are raised to respect men as if they where their grandfather. Thus all male on female offenses are treated more serious than if male on male or female on female regardless of the woman's statues. Women are allowed to work any job they qualify for without discrimination, however there are some positions within government that women can never fill; for example a woman can never be Emperor or a High Priest, and a man can never work as a prostitute. Cross-dressing is illegal in Nalibia meaning there is an expected manner of dress based on gender. Boys are conditioned from birth to be competitive and brave, and likewise girls are taught to be gentle and modest; though within reason some boys are more comfortable in domestics and some girls want to compete in sport, etc.. A person coming from a more progressive nation will notice that even nalibian TV shows and other media usually have traditional gender roles for characters. Though people of other nations find Nalibian culture in this manner to be oppressive and/or old fashioned, nalibians laugh at many of the problems of these nations which they believe are clearly from the breaking down of these barriers. Nalibia is a patriarchal society and are very proactive to keep it that way.

Hookah and Tea/coffee: If you are ever a guess in someone's home in Nalibia for the first time it is custom that first you sit and share a Hookah in a room designated for this purpose of a local Hookah Lodge. Your Host or one of the members of the house will prepare for you their family brew which will be either tea or coffee. Here you will talk for a bit and possibly later be introduced to his family. In Nalibia it is actually not uncommon for a stranger to knock on a door and ask to share a smoke and drink. If the host is not busy, he usually accepts. The Room is separate from the rest of the house, so his family is never in danger. If you are ever at a business meeting in Nalibia it will be done in much the same way. For Nalibians this exchange is a symbol of community, understanding and friendship.

Public Baths/Spas: In Nalibia you can find many public baths and hot springs. These bath houses originate from a time when indoor plumbing and clean running water did not exist, but today these bathhouse exist for comfort and relaxation .They are very social like club houses; some needing you to hold a membership to enter and usually are connected to gyms. They are gender based, separating men bathers from women bathers, and some bath houses cater to only one specific gender with women bath house outnumbering men houses 3/1. However in Sheva it is possible to find co-ed bath houses. Bath house design can be very simple to very grand in design. If ever in Nalibia do not leave until you have visited one of these luxury bath houses. They typically cost §5 or less to visit.

Health and Fitness: Some may call it vanity, but Nalibians call it life. From a young age child of the empire are not merely encouraged but required to work out and compete against their peers in outdoor sports. The gyms and fitness centers have become social hangout spots for adults much like bars are in other nations. With Nalibia's 30-hour work weeks everyone has time to take care of their bodies. Fat shaming is also common place in Nalibia and goes back 1000s of years in its ancient writings, so a need to be fit for both health and social stigma has become a part of its culture. It is no surprise then most of the best paid fitness instructors and nutritionist come from Nalibia, and that Nalibians have created an international market for their services and supplements abroad.

National Parks and wildlife preserves: Maybe you want to escape the noise and hustle of the city and wish to simply enjoy nature. Nalibia has miles of land dedicated as national parks. Hiking, bird watching and camping are also pastimes in Nalibia. Nalibnites are very entuned with nature and love to preserve land as their ancestors enjoyed it. Every Province has square miles set aside for wildlife to thrive, so it would not be hard for you to find your own escape in this beautiful land. Zoos, aquariums and wildlife preserves are also abundant in Nalibia just like in most nations. Here you can enjoy seeing wildlife you would likely never see otherwise.

Hunting, Trapping and Fishing in Nalibia: Nalibians believe that wildlife within and around the Empire are for the benefit of the the Nalibnite People. Thus, a limited number of licenses are given to foreigners every year to hunt wild game or fish in common rivers and lakes. Whatever game a foreigner hunts must be eaten during the visit, and cannot be transported out of the Empire. With the focus truly being on limiting the export of trophy hunting. Nalibia is a land exotic wild life which the people wish to keep around till the end of time. For this reason, trophy hunting is regulated even for the citizens of Nalibia. Citizens of Nalibia do not need licenses to Hunt or fish most animals, but certain animals are monitored and only allowed to be hunted for the purpose of food in rare occasions when controlling wildlife population is nee. The special hunting permits are issued for these animals and if possible, its meat is used for humanitarian aid. It is further illegal to trap or capture an animal for the purpose of export out of the Empire, and only allowed for special zoos partnered with the Nalibian Wildlife Association.

Gridiron and other professional sports: Nalibia's most watched sport is the Gridiron League that started in 1325. Today every Province has two or more Gridiron teams totaling 28 teams that make up the IGL. Athletes in the IGL are paid millions due to the Nalibian fan base of the sport spending money on tickets, merchandise and dedicated viewership. The IGL season starts in the 5th month (August) and ends with an Esferos Bowl in the 11th month (February). There are also other professional sports in Nalibia such as Horse and dog races, Boxing, Golf, MMA, Basketball, Football (Soccer) and even baseball to name a few. Many sports make up Nalibia's national pastime. Athletes are even brought up starting out their dream in little league sports on into their school years and then college where they hope to be picked up by a professional league during or shortly after.

Dog and other animal Sports: One of Nalibia's pastimes is dog and horse racing. These animals are breed for speed and its championship race takes place in the capital of Yatham province, Hammaana. This event is the richest greyhound race in the Esferos, with a staggering money prize of §1,000,000 with the winning horse of the Yatham Derby horse prize being upwards to §3 million. Dog, horse and cat pageants are also held around the Empire with many breeders looking to be named "Best in Show", Nalibians also enjoy the sport of dog fighting. The biggest annually held championship dog fighting competition also takes place in the capital of Yatham province, Hammaana; though at a different arena. Weight classes for dogs are medium, large and Super. Prize fighting dogs can be breed for upwards to §50,000. Dogs are not allowed to be fought to the death and when it happens the owner of the winning dog is fined §5,000 plus the price of the dog that was killed which is paid to the owner of the dead dog. This has been met by the scorn of activist around Esferos to end animal cruelty, but Nalibians true to form continue in what is sees as their ancient way of life.

Gambling and Casinos: With professional sports comes gambling. In Nalibia gambling is mostly illegal, but like any prohibition it cannot be stopped. All Provinces agree on this fact, and try to teach responsible gambling practices, and the dangers of addiction. Instead Casinos are regulated and 50% of what Casinos win from the people must be returned in the form of a tax which goes toward local government agencies, schools, and maintaining infrastructure. Small bets at a bar or through a bookie are legal for up to 1,000 Shenar. Foreigners, members of the Nalibian Royal families, and citizens from territories outside the province of the casino are not allowed to own stock in or open casinos in Nalibia. This money is seen as a resource for the people and must be protected to stay within not only Nalibia, but inside the territory the Casino operates.

Gun Culture: Nalibnites love guns. Nalibia is a major importer of small arms. 87% of homes in Nalibia have at least one gun and many gun collectors. It is part of Nalibian culture that every adult be ready to defend his/her home and nation which date back to the nation's founding. Before firearms Nalibians collected swords, shields and armor and other exotic weapons, and some still do today. In schools’ children are not only taught gun safety and proper use of fire arms, but actually even have fire ranges and courses where children are taught to shot. The students are even allowed to bring firearms to school to use on the fire range, and they are gun completions held between different classrooms and different schools. Thus, Nalibia has less gun control then most other nations, and surprisingly with this Nalibia actually suffers less violent crime per capita then many nations that enforce strict gun control.

Alcohol and Tobacco: Alcohol can be enjoyed at home or at an establishment, but it is illegal to be publicly intoxicated by Alcohol or operate vehicles and heavy machinery. Tobacco use is accepted everywhere except at establishments that say otherwise. Recently vaping has become popular in Nalibia. What foreigners may find strange is the low purchasing age of 14 years old for tobacco and "weak" Alcohols like beer and wine, and the age of 18 for "strong" alcohol. Hearing this you would expect to see an epidemic of teen smoking and drunkenness, but that is not the case. Smoking and drinking are a social event in Nalibia with friends and family, Nalibians believe truth and honest education not fear mongering, as well as controlling the glorification of abuse of drugs go a long way in stopping the abuse of all substances.

Drugs: Nalibia is one of the few nations that have legalized all drug use. Illegal drug dealers are still hunted and prosecuted, but drug users are free to find treatment when they are ready. A person found illegally selling hard drugs as a first offence is public lashing of 10 stripes and a fine of up to §25,000. The second offence is public lashing of 20 stripes, a fine double what they paid the first time up to §50,000 and 7 years hard labor. The third offence is death. A person found smuggling hard drugs into the Empire even if it is a first offence is sentenced to 7 years hard labor, and the second offense is death. For this reason at Nalibia's international Airport and seaports passengers are warned of the sentencing and given the opportunity to freely give up the drugs without prosecution. They will freely be allowed to even enter the country without harassment as long as they cooperate and make a statement. If the smuggler is in danger, the Nalibian officials will even protect the smuggler and get them home safely.

Nalibia has never made marijuana illegal with the exception of Shay-Riyadh province which later reversed the law. The crop has been used for textiles, medicine, construction materials and even food to name a few uses for over 2000 years. It is illegal to smoke it in public, or to be intoxicated in public areas, but you are allowed to smoke at home or on land that you own and certain establishments. Marijuana is sold at specialty shops as a drug the same as liquor stores, and many marijuana users grow their own plants as it is legal to own up to 3 marijuana plants without a license. It is illegal to operate a vehicle or heavy machinery while under the influence of Marijuana the same as with alcohol.

All other drugs can be bought at special clinics as well as other establishments such as nightclubs, and must be done there at the clinic or establishment where you purchased the drugs at. Nightclubs and Dens that sell drugs take on the full responsibility of the drug users while they are under the influence, and only oral or Inhalant drugs are allowed to be sold at non clinic establishments.

The clinics are also rehab centers for those who wise to escape any drug addiction. The area of these clinics that allow drug use are comfortable with most facilities even having private rooms in case you do not wish to use drugs around people. Doctors and nurses are always on standby to help those whom may overdose and even help to administer the drug safely. Some believe this enables users, but doctors disagree as they are always willing to help people kick the habit and offer a safe place to buy and use drugs rather then in a abandoned building or back ally, and most importantly away from children. The fact drugs are legal and controlled also help keep them off the street and away from children as you must be at least 21 to buy drugs and you are not allowed to leave the clinic with the drugs. These clinics are not operated as businesses, so doctors and nurses at the clinics are not paid by the drug money, but instead are on a salary paid by the Government. They are actually the lowest paid of all doctors and nurses, and most are students in the medical field. If you go to a clinic it is illegal for them to tell you what drugs you can get, as they can only give you drugs that you specifically ask for. All money made by the clinics in drug sales are used for further drug treatment, anti drug ads, funding local parks, schools and libraries as well as other government social programs.

Public Executions: In Nalibia those who are found guilty of capital crimes are executed in a public square near the Courthouse. Tourist have witnessed these events on occasion with mixed reactions. Some see it as barbaric while others believe it to be necessary. Nalibians believe it to be a deterrent  of future criminals as well as offer closer to a victim's grieving family as well as the community. Stoning, beheading and hanging are a few types of methods Nalibians execute their criminals depending on the crime they committed. It should be noted that only murders are executed before the public. A criminal once found guilty will be executed within the year typically taking 1 to 3 months before they have run out of appeals. If a crime is considered especially heinous the criminal is executed by the same method they killed the victim.

Modern Slavery: Modern Slavery in Nalibia does still exist, but only as a means to pay debts and/or punishment for a crime as well as spoils of war. It also requires monetary compensation to the freed servant except in the case of being punished for a crime and spoils of war. There are also occasions where a man or woman may sell themselves into slavery for no more than seven years, but today this is rare for citizens. The FTSA (The Fair Treatment of Slaves Administration) is responsible for overseeing all contracts between slaves and owners. Most slaves are indistinguishable from free Nalibians. This is done to keep slaves from being discriminated against and to allow them to live normal lives after being freed. Slaves in Nalibia are also protected under the law and for the most part seen and treated the same under the law. If a master kills his slave; the master will be charged with murder. If he beats his slave; the master will be charged with battery and the slave will be set free. If a master requires his slave to move away from the slave’s family the slave must be given enough days a year to visit his family, and the master must pay for travel. Any abuse of a slave at the hands of his/her master or by his command will be investigated and if found guilty will be prosecuted as a violation against a human not a slave. The fact Nalibia still recognizes slavery has led to it being stigmatized internationally, but Nalibia would argue that slavery still exist across the world under crony capitalism, and that the only difference is that they (Nalibia) simply acknowledge it. However, Nalibia does not allow people to be born into slavery, transported/kidnaped as slaves, the selling or trading of slaves, and most slaves are still paid a minimum wage; the only exception being those whom are being punished for a crime. Most slave of the empire are immigrants from neighboring nations looking for work.

Comic, Cartoons and Video Games: Cartoons and Video Games are primarily for adults in Nalibia, but can range from pre-school education to grown-up action and comedy. Comics, Anime, Manga, Cartoons and animated movies are very popular in Naliba. Cosplay and Gaming events are also common in Nalibia every year. 92% of homes in Nalibia have internet and of that percentage 90% use it for online gaming as well as social media and video streaming. Nalibia has a very large video game market share bringing billions of shenar in revenue a year. Projections of Nalibia's culture show that comics, animated cartoons and video games are becoming just as much a part of Nalibian history and culture as its many other rich cultural aspects.

Theaters: Whether it be a local play or a movie do not leave Nalibia without checking out one of their local productions. So much of their culture and belief is put into their productions it would actually be advised to watch one before visiting to better understand the people. Nalibia's movie and television production center is located in Yerah of Dedan Province. Action, drama, romance, fantasy, sci-fi, horror and the multi-million-dollar budgets can all be found in Nalibia. Movies based on history and war dramas are the most popular in the empire often retelling stories found in diaries, scrolls and history books from around the nation. It may be comforting to know that movies from other nations are also often shown in Nalibian movie theaters as well. The Priesthood's Order of Knowledge strictly enforces what can and can not be depicted in film and video games. None the less Nalibia's films have gone international due to their great story telling and amazing production quality.

The Arts: Without art can a civilization be called civilized? Nalibia is no exception to this rule. Music, paintings, sculptures, poetry, books of fiction and romanticized non-fiction along with dance and performance in a special unique way all can be found in this vast empire. Art is the expression of a culture and Nalibia displays it in full. Nalibia also partakes in the arts of other countries. Art work from around the world along with other forms of expression can all be found in Nalibia from its grand concert theaters to its humble music halls.

Museums and Culture Centers: All civilization must actively preserve its history, progress and culture. To this end monuments and museums can be found in every city of the Empire. Nalibia puts aside billions a year to grow and preserve its Imperial treasures and natural wonders. All the Royal Palaces of Nalibian have dedicated areas open to the public which act as Museums, making it a must stop when visiting the Empire as most find its rich history and culture inspiring and marvelous to behold.

Government Offices and Titles

In 1015AF with the founding of the new unified Empire; Emperor Tadaaki introduced The Mandate of the Eternal Throne which acted as a Constitution of the Empire. Emperor Tadaaki believed that writing and establishing a document that protected and outlines the rights of the common people and limited the role of government over the governed would further culturally establish the role of Kingship in the Empire as a part of national pride, and he was correct. Now with The Mandate of the Eternal Throne written out in a plain document for all people to read; it has become a symbol of national pride. The priesthood today teaches it to students of all ages and the rulers themselves are now a symbol of Nalibia's enduring heritage. As this was written the Eternal Rights of Man was also introduced, which acts as a Bill of Rights for the purpose of protecting the rights and freedoms of the people. The Eternal Rights of Man are loved by the people, and have only brought a stronger sense of Nationalism and trust between the people and its rulers. Written into the The Mandate of the Eternal Throne is a law preventing it from ever being changed or rectified, however The Eternal Rights of Man can add and remove new Common Rights if the new amendment is voted on and passed with a 4/5 majority vote in all Provincial Parliaments. From there the Supreme Court will scrutinize the new Amendment to assure it does not contradict with the Mandate of the Eternal Throne. After the Supreme Court has approved the Amendment, both the Emperor and the Elder High Priest must agree to allow it's passing. New Amendments can be removed in the same way, However, the first eighteen original rights called Pre-Existing Rights (as in these right pre-existed before the Empire from EUEI) can never be changed or removed.

In order to hold government office in the Empire you must belong to and publicly swear an oath to protect and keep The Holy Law. No person whom belongs to any other faith can be elected or appointed to a government position, nor can they hold high rank in the military. This also includes the ability for royal children to present themselves to the Elder High Priest for Ascension.

All royals serve or have served in the military. In order to be a male ruler you have to have served 5 years of active duty in the military. Today most Princes and some Princesses fly in the Airforce, but it is equally common for them to join the Navy, Army, Yasher or other armed forces.

Nalibia has always allowed women to occupy the same careers and opportunities as men, with the only exception being within the Priesthood. Women throughout Nalibian history have been business owners, soldiers, generals, merchants and craftsmen and even Queens over Provinces. When a King or the Emperor was out to war the Wife Queens and Empress would rule in their husbands stead till his return. It can be said that Nalibia accepts the ideology of the men being the head of the household, and in many ways it's still a patriarchy where women are subject to men, but non the less women still are very prosperous in the empire and have been for 1000s of years.

Assemblies of the Empire

Since the founding of the Empire, Nalibia has held assembles with the goal of keeping Unity between it's kings and furthering development of the Empire. At these assemblies government policy is set, marriages are arranged and any problems within the Empire are addressed. These assemblies are usually ended with a feast and sometimes even a wedding. Of course if any serious issues arise before the assemble they are handled at that time, but the assemblies serve as a formal setting to show unity for the people to see and praise the Empire.

Emperor's Assembly (AKA High Council Assembly): Once a year on the 15th day of the first month, all the kings and Queens of the Empire meet in Nalibia's Imperial capital city Chikere, Zalet Province. Here the Emperor addresses any matters his rulers may have and sets goals for each province to meet by the following Year to develop and grow the Empire. Today as in ancient times the Emperor and Elder High Priest addresses the citizens in a public speech. These words are most always encouraging as he shares with the people the goals set for the year. Since 1367 for national security; only 1/3rd of the province rulers are allowed to come each year, and instead send their crowned heirs or trusted advisors on their behalf.

Royal Assembly: Twice a year, on the 15th day of the Second month and the 15th day of the eighth month all the Kings of Nalibia (including the Emperor who is King over his province) call there City Perfects and Town Lords into their respected capital cities and address matters of the province presented by the Perfects and Lords as well as set goals for them to meet which align with the overall goal the Emperor has set for the Province.

General Assembly: Four times a year on the 1st day of first, forth, seventh and tenth months the City Perfects and Town Lords of the province call their various heads into their capital buildings to set goals, check the progress of the cities and towns within their province and address any problems the citizens present.

The Nalibian Empire's Government sectors

There are four sectors of government an Office can fall under. These sector merely tell who officials in a particular sector report to and do not depict any type of rank. The four sectors are:

Local: These sectors of the Empire fall under the authority of Local Principalities within a specific territory of a province.
Royal: These sectors fall under the authority of the Ruler of the Province.
Priesthood: These sectors of the Empire falls under the authority of the Priesthood, and can extend to the whole Empire.
Judicial: These sectors of the Empire are overseen by the courts, and governed by and task with enforcing the constitution.
Imperial: These Sectors answer directly to the Empire and typically govern the whole Empire.

Councils (Priesthood,Local,Royal,Imperial): Councils help to keep the modern government running. Major departments of the Empire are broken down into smaller sectors and controlled by either the Priesthood or are appointed, only then needing to be approved by the High Priest or Rulers. Smaller agencies within a sector answer to Councils. Each Council is lead by an appointed leader or the High Priest of the Order over it; who hold this position for life, unless they are promoted to a higher office, found to be incompetent or till they retire. This allows the Emperor and other rulers to manage the large modern Empire. All Councils break down into smaller committees and manage the bureaucracies which come with large governments.

The Major Councils of Nalibia and who they answer to are:

Education Council (Wisdom Priesthood Order: The Order Priest of Wisdom)
Moral Council (Knowledge Priesthood Order: The Order Priest of Knowledge)
Medicine and Public Services Council (Understanding Priesthood Order: The Order Priest of Understanding)
_
Housing and Urban Development Council (Local Perfect: Chief Architect of Housing and Urban Development)
Transportation Council (Local Perfect: Chief of Transportation < Imperial: Lord of Transportation)
_
Commerce Council (Royal: Chief of Commerce)
Agriculture Council (Royal: Chief of Agriculture < Understanding Priesthood Order: Minister of Agriculture)
Infrastructure Council (Royal: Lord of Engineering)
Resource Council (Royal: Lord of Resource)
Labor Council (Royal: Lord of Labor)
Energy Council (Royal: Lord of Energy)
Province Security Council (Royal: Lord of "province name" security <Imperial: Grand Commander of Imperial security)
_
Veterans Affairs Council (Imperial: Grand Commander of Veterans Affairs)
Imperial Treasury Council (Imperial: Her Royal Highness Princess "insert name" of Treasury)
War and Defense Council (Imperial: Grand Commander of War and Defense)

Pillars of the Empire

The Pillars are rulers and leaders in the top positions in government. They all hold these offices for life unless they are promoted to a higher office, found to be incompetent or till they retire. Every office can be held by a common man based on merit and ability not his family linage; except the role of the King, Queen and Emperor. The pillars are:

Eligible voters (Local): Both men and women of a community have the right to vote. However, only one vote per household is cast in an election. If a woman is married her husband decides the vote of the household. If he is unable to vote than the wife whom he has been married to the longest may vote on his behalf. If an eligible woman is divorced or widowed, she may cast her own vote as long as she lives in her own home, is not a declared dependent, and is not collecting alimony from her ex-husband.

A household is defined as an "independent" man and woman, and all dependents belonging to any of them.
An independent is defined as a person, along with their spouse; whom is responsible for paying at least 33% of the rent/mortgage and at least 25% of all utilities used within the house they dwell.

To be eligible to vote a man or woman must live in the limits of the community where the election is taking place, and be two of the following;

1) Be age 30 or above
2) Served as a civil servant or active Military Service for 4+ years with honorable discharge
3) If they or a spouse, Own or is currently paying mortgage for at least 8,000 square feet of land.
4) Raising or have raised his/her own biological children of any age.
5) Own or be a board member of a profitable business with at least 15 employees.

Elder Council (Local): This panel of Elders is made up of men and women who are over the age of 50 but under the age of 75, from their local community. Any man or woman whom is over the age of 50 and are citizens can run for the open seat of the Elder Council. The eligible men and women of the community then vote from among the candidates who will take the unoccupied seat(s). The Number of men and women on the Council vary based on the population size of the community. They meet at least once a week to discuss and resolve matters regarding their community. Elder Councils are also over their local police departments overseeing the Marshal (Sheriff) to keep corruption out of the department. If a community is facing difficulty it is usually the Elder Council who meet with the City Perfect or Town Lord, and sometimes are sent by perfects to speak to rulers on their behalf. Elder Council members can be removed from power by a vote of their fellow members or by order of the Elder Priest. If this takes place the member is not removed, but instead will rerun for his/her chair and be re-elected or replaced by a vote of the people the same as before. During this time the member's chair is considered unoccupied and he/she has no power in the council. If the elder council member is reelected he cannot face another challenge for his chair again until 4 years.

Marshal (Local): The Marshal can be male or female. They are in charged of the police department belonging to his or her community. The Marshal is employed by the Elder Council and is only responsible for law enforcement of that community unless asked by the Elder Council of another Community or by the Elder Priest to oversee an investigation. A Marshal's officers carry out most of the law enforcement duties while the Marshal manages their activities and training as well as set policy and protocol. Marshals are nominated by the Elder Council from among active officers and lawyers whom both work and live in their community. They are then elected into office by the eligible men and women of the community. It is also important to note that unlike the other Pillars, a Marshal does not hold their position for life. They instead will face elections every 4 years.

Judges (Local/Priesthood/Judicial): Judges can be male or female and are nominated by the elder council from among the Chef Prosecutors and Defenders, and approved by the High Priest of the province and finally elected into office by the eligible men and women of the community. They can be male or female and a territory may have as many as are deemed necessary by the Elder Council. They deal in all civil cases meaning they have the power to sentence a person to servitude, hard time or monetary compensation, but also it is the Judge who will decide if a case is a capital offence before being brought before the Perfect. If the case is a capital offence warranting death the judge does not rule on such cases, but merely brings the case before the Chef Prosecutor to take before the Perfect. In all cases except a capital punishment case their ruling is final and can only be appealed by the Perfect in extreme cases.

Royal Judge (Local/Royal/Priesthood/Imperial/Judicial): Royal Judges can be male or female, and are requested by the authority they represent from among the judges of their Province. Perfects, Kings, Queens and the Emperor do not always have time to process the 100s of cases brought before them each day. Royal Judges act on their ruler's behalf and the verdicts are treated as the words of the authority they represent. So if you stand before the Royal Judge; the verdict is treated as if the monarch themselves judged you, and can be appealed in the same way. Their power in government does not go beyond passing judgement and sentences of cases. All verdicts can be overturned by the Rulers the Royal Judge represent, but this is very rare. A ruler may have as many Royal Judges as they deem necessary, but if a Royal judge is released from his/her duty they must receive a 2 year severance.

Perfect (Local): A Perfect is an elected public official who serves as the Lord or Lady of a city or town. The position of a Perfect is vital as they act as the head of the local government, playing a key role in the decision-making process and providing leadership to the community. Perfects are approved by the High Priest based on nominees whom are at least 30 years in age, but less than 50; from local eligible men and women of the community by the local Elder Councils. Each Elder Council from the districts of the city or towns will send their nominee before the High Priest who will then select five to be sent before the Monarch. From these five the Monarch will select three to run for the position of the city or towns perfect. The eligible men and women of the community then vote from among the candidate who will become the Perfect. They cannot make laws, but can enact edicts that do not go against the laws of their monarch or the emperor. A Perfect's duties and responsibilities may be to appoint and oversee municipal managers and employees, provide basic governmental services to constituents, and execute the laws and ordinances passed by Parliament and the Monarch. Perfects are also judge of their city dealing with Cases that warrant Capital punishment. The ruling of such cases can be appealed to the Monarch. Once a perfect is selected he/she can only be deposed after a hearing before the High Priest of the Province or in extreme cases the Emperor. The Perfect faces reelection every 10 years, otherwise they hold the position for life or till the age of 65. When a Perfect leaves office any edict they enacted are enforced for the next 40 years.

Provincial Parliament (Local): The Provincial Parliament is made up of men and women who live in the territory of the Parliament. The number of seats which make up the Parliament is determined by a percentage of the number of seats of each Elder Council community within the territory. The Parliament is made up by nominees whom are at least 40 years in age, but less than 60 years of age from the Elder Council’s Community’s local eligible men and women. Every 8 years these candidates are then elected by a simple majority vote from the eligible men and women of the community. At least two or more candidates must be presented for each available chair. One whom the Elder Council has approved and one whom the Elder Council has not; if no one runs against the Elder Councils nominee than the Elder Council must select a second candidate to run against the other nominee. Note that more than one candidate may run against the Elder Council’s nominee. A parliament chair member may rerun for his/her seat even without the approval of their Elder Council, and the Elder Council may vote weather to put up a new candidate to run against the already occupied chair. If someone whom the Elder Council did not nominate chooses to run against occupied chair, and the Elder Council does not put forth a new Nominee; the sitting chair member is treated as the Elder Council’s nominee. If no one runs against the occupied seat the Chair member automatically holds their chair until the next election. A parliament chair may rerun for their seat until they are 65 years in age. If a chair member is over the age of 65, the next election he/she must vacate the seat. The Provincial Parliament makes laws over the territory which are then approved or rejected by the Royal of the Province. If the law is approved, it will then go before The Provincial Supreme Court to scrutinize its constitutional legality. If the law is deemed to fall within the limits of the constitution it will only be enacted for 50 years before needing to be voted on in parliament again and reapproved by the Royal. If the Royal of the Province rejects a law presented by parliament the law is then represented to the Parliament where it is voted on. If the vote is passed with a 2/3 majority the law goes into effect, but if the law does not meet the 2/3 majority it is removed. The Provincial Parliament may also hold hearings and inquiries into matters regarding the territory of the Parliament. However this does not include hearings or inquires regarding their provincial Royal ruler; which are overseen by the Priesthood. Ruling of the Parliament can only be overturn by the Provincial Supreme Court (if deemed unconstitutional) or the ruler of the province.

Empress (Imperial): The Empress is the first wife of the Emperor. Her role in Government during ancient times was to rule when the King was at war or when/if he left the country. Since the invention of the simi-automatic Rifle the Emperor no longer goes to war and with the invention of modern communications the Empress is no longer needed for such roles. Today the Empress is the principal adviser on Nalibia's foreign policy; Conducts negotiations relating to Nalibia's foreign affairs; Advises the Emperor on the appointment of Nalibian ambassadors, ministers, consuls, and other diplomatic representatives; Advises the Emperor regarding the acceptance, recall, and dismissal of the representatives of foreign governments; Personally participates in or directs Nalibia's representatives to international conferences, organizations, and agencies; Ensures the protection of the empire to Nalibian citizens, property, and interests in foreign countries; Supervises the administration of Nalibia's immigration laws abroad; Provides information to Nalibian citizens regarding the political, economic, social, cultural, and humanitarian conditions in foreign countries; Informs the Nalibian rulers and citizens on the conduct of Nalibia's foreign relations; Promotes beneficial economic intercourse between Nalibia and other countries; Supervises the Foreign Service of Nalibia. When the Emperor dies she will rule until the new Emperor is crowned. She is also a close personal advisor to the Emperor, her throne is to the right of the Emperor's throne, and is slightly smaller then the Emperor's. When the new emperor ascends the Ivory throne his first wife will assume the position of Empress. For the rest of the days she lives after the crowning of the new Emperor she is given the title of Imperial Mother, but weld no power in the court.

Provincial Supreme Court (Judicial): The Provincial Supreme Court oversees and reviews all court rulings to assure that the constitution is upheld within a given Province. If a defendant’s rights have been abused or neglected the court has the power to overturn any ruling including the ruling of a Royal. The Provincial Supreme Court also oversees the passing and making of laws to assure they fall within the limits of the powers given by the constitution.

King/Queen (Royal): The King/Queen rule over a specific province. They may make laws over the province as long as they do not go against The Holy Law, the constitution or any imperial laws the Emperor has made. The power of a monarch over a province is only limited by the constitution, and when he/she dies their laws die with them only lasting 50 years from which they are passed. If the monarch steps down before they die, then for the rest of the days they live after the crowning of the new King/Queen they are given the title Royal Father/Royal Mother, but weld no power in the court. Kings/Queens are also judges of their province dealing with Cases that warrant Capital punishment. Once a King or Queen is selected by the High Priest to ascend to the throne, they can only be deposited after a hearing before the Elder High Priest. For the first year the Elder High Priest have the power to challenge the crowning. If this is done The Elder High Priest will arrive to the Palace with The Yasher and remove the crown from the head of the King or Queen. If the King/Queen fights and forces the Elder High Priest to lay siege to the royal palace upon successfully entering the palace the King/Queen must be beheaded. If he/she gives up the crown peacefully they must be exiled to another province and compensated for every month they occupied the throne. The Elder High Priest will then reselect the King or Queen from among those who was previously not selected. For the rest of the days the deposed King/Queen live after the crowning of the new King/Queen they are given the title Royal Exile, and weld no power.

When a monarch dies or if the monarch is no longer able to rule, all their children regardless of maternal birth, both sons and daughters above the age or 13, gathered together before the High Priest presenting offerings to EUEI. The High Priest will then fast and pray for EUEI to select a new ruler of the Province. This can take up to a week. Once the High Priest selects the new King or Queen they must take the oath of Kings to keep and protect The Holy Laws, to uphold and protect the constitution and to obey and pledge loyalty to the sitting emperor and whom so ever ascend the Ivory Throne. They are then paraded in the streets of their capital. The High Priest rides in front with other priest burning incents and playing music saying, "Behold your new ruler chosen by EUEI. They you must obey or be cut of from the people," the heir is escorted by the royal guard, and followed by all the men and women of the court.

Imperial Supreme Court (Judicial): The Imperial Supreme Court oversees and reviews all court rulings to assure that the constitution is upheld within the Empire. If a defendant’s rights have been abused or neglected the court has the power to overturn any ruling including the ruling of the emperor. The Imperial Supreme Court also oversees the passing and making of laws to assure they fall within the limits of the powers given by the constitution. Due to its power of judicial review, it plays an essential role in ensuring that each branch of government recognizes the limits of its own power, and it protects civil rights and liberties by striking down laws that violate the Constitution. It is important to note that if the court itself passes a verdict which is unconstitutional the Order Priest of Knowledge has the power to overturn the Supreme Court’s ruling but only on the grounds of its constitutionality.

Elder High Priest (Priesthood): The Elder High Priest is the Spiritual leader of the entire Empire. His power is mostly separate but above the Kings and Queens of Nalibia, and below the Empire himself. The Role of the Elder High Priest is firstly to protect and teach the faith to the people of Nalibia and oversee the running of the priesthood, but the secondary role of the Elder High Priest is to Judge any corruption of the royal families. He will also select and crown the new Emperor from among the sons of the previous empire. He acts as Judge in cases dealing with the priesthood, heretics and the royal families. He has the power to condemn them even to death which is then finalized by the emperor himself. All his rulings are absolute within the priesthood's governance, and his ruling dealing with cases outside the priesthood can only be overturned by the Emperor.

When the Elder High Priest dies all the High Priest from the other provinces gather at the Elder High Temple in Chikere, Zalet Province the capital city. They all fast for 14 days and on the 15th day they cast sacred lots. From these lots the new Elder High Priest is chosen from among them. Once the new Elder High priest is chosen he is brought before the public, his clothes (except his lower garments) are torn off him and holy olive oil from a sacred tree is brought out and poured onto his head. The other High Priest slaughter a lamb from the temple flock and sacrifice it on the alter as a burnt offering. The ashes of the sacrifice are then put into a cup while the animal burns and fresh baked unleavened bread with honey is dipped into the ashes which the newly selected Elder High Priest eats. Once it is eaten new robes are given to him which he puts on. The oldest of the High Priest will then say before the people, "Behold, EUEI has chosen him to be his voice before our rulers," The other High Priest will then say, "So it is done in our sight as a testament that EUEI has not forsaken us," Then all the priest together will smash clay pots filled with water (which is the word of EUEI) and grain (which is Life)  in front of themselves at the base of the alter and cheer. They then feast before the burnt sacrifice. He then will address the people and begins his office as Elder High Priest.

Emperor (Imperial): The Emperor is ruler and head of state over the whole nation of Nalibia. As Emperor he has the power to make laws that govern all other Provinces, overturn rulings, laws and judgements of kings and the Elder High Priest, and only the Emperor has the power to declare war on other nations. The Emperor's power over the nation is only limited by the Constitution. However when he dies his laws die with him only staying enacted for 60 years after it's initial passing. If the Emperor steps down from power and allows his son to become the new Emperor, then for the rest of the days he live after the crowning of the new Emperor he is given the title Imperial Father, but weld no power in the court. The Emperor is the Highest judge of the empire dealing with Cases that warrant Capital punishment.

When the Emperor dies or if he is no longer able to rule; all of his sons over the age of 20 (no matter who their mother is) gather before the Elder High Priest with his family and brings one sheep, goat or ox to The Priesthood Temple. The Elder High Priest will then fast and pray for EUEI to select a new Emperor. This process can also take up to but no more than one week. When the Elder High Priest selects a new Emperor; the new Emperor must publicly takes the Oath of the Ivory Throne swearing to obey and keep The Holy Law and to protect and uphold the constitution. He is then paraded in the streets of the capital. The Elder High Priest rides in front with other priest burning incents and playing music saying, "Behold your new Emperor chosen by EUEI, he you must obey or be cut off from the people. May his steps be pleasing to EUEI, and may his judgment be pleasing to EUEI" the new Emperor is escorted by the royal guard, and followed by all the man and women of the court. Once the Elder High Priest selects a new Emperor no one has the authority to challenge his rulership.

Formal Office

Formal offices of the Empire hold no real power in the Empire, but are symbolic of the power and influence of the Empire. Due to cult of personality many family members of the royal families find themselves becoming local, national or even international celebrities.

Royal Children: Young royal child have no role in government. Being born into the royal family is the dream of most, but it comes with drawbacks. First being that if your are a prince in order to be eligible to succeed your father or mother you must serve in the military as active duty for four years. For this reason young princes will start to attend a prestigious military school around the age of 14. Princesses are also sometimes married off to Nalibian crowned princes through arranged marriages; though this does not happen all the time it is still apart of the custom. It is done to keep all the royal families connected, but to avoid incest a royal family can not marry into the same house two generations in a row or marry within itself. Princesses born to the Emperor around the age of 14 will be schooled in economics to prepare her for the role she maybe called to fill over the treasury. Also in order to ascend to their parent's throne the prince or princess has to have lived in Nalibia for 3/4 of their life (unless he or she is the only living Royal Child eligible to ascend to their parent's throne). If a sibling is crowned all other princes and princesses are exiled from their home province. They still receive an inheritance and the oldest male still receives his double inheritance, but they are never allowed to stay. They may live freely in any other province or nation they chose, and are allowed to return if invited for a holiday or celebration, but must leave shortly after.

Prince Consort /Consort Queen: The Consort is the first wife of the King or the husband of the Queen of a province. The Consort Queen's role in Government in ancient times was to rule when the King was at war or when the king left the country. The Prince Consort's role in ancient times was to go to war for his Queen. The Consort would also rule in their spouse's stead if they left the province. But since the invention of the simi-automatic Rifle they no longer go to war and with the invention of modern communications the spouse of the monarch is no longer needed for such roles. Today the role of the Consort in the Government is mostly ceremonial, but they may be appointed to a Council of the local or Royal level of government except in the Province Security Council. This is not to say they weld no power at all since their spouse is the King or Queen after all. The Consort is also often a close personal advisor of their spouse. He/She also primarily welcomes foreign ambassadors and diplomats into their province as well as host fund raisers. When the ruling Monarch dies the Consort will rule until the new King/Queen is crowned. For the rest of the days they live after the crowning of the new King or Queen they are given the title King Father/Queen Mother, but weld no power in the court.

Imperial Queen: When an Emperor is crowned and ascend to the Ivory Throne he as required by law will take a second wife. The second wife of the Emperor is called the Imperial Queen. For the last 400 years it has been law for the Emperor to have at least two wives; an Empress and a Imperial Queen. Today her role is to welcome foreign ambassadors and diplomats into her province as well as host and attend fund raisers. Her primary responsibility is to act as spokesperson for the Emperor. The Imperial Queen is responsible for collecting information about actions and events within the Emperor's Court and issues the Court's reactions to developments around the world. The Imperial Queen interacts with the media, and deals with the Imperial Court's press assembly on a daily basis, generally in a daily press briefing. The Imperial Queen serves by the pleasure of the Emperor, and it is usually the Imperial Queen who becomes the face of the Imperial Family because she is the one to regularly attend public functions and speak to the press. The Imperial Queen is also a close personal advisor to the Emperor. Her throne sits to the left of the Emperor's throne, and is slightly smaller then the Empress'. For the rest of the days she lives after the crowning of the new Emperor she is given the title Royal Mother, but weld no power in the court.

Parents of the Monarchs: After the age of 70 most monarchs including the emperor are required to abdicate the throne. When this happens the spouse of the monarch are also removed from their role in government even if only ceremonial. When this happens they take on various new titles depending on their role before, but regardless of the title it means they are affectively retired from government politics and weld no power, except as an advisor.

The Holy Law
The Official Faith of Nalibia

The Official Faith of Nalibia is called The Holy Law. It was founded by Nalibia's greatest father Akachi over 3,000 years ago and is the bedrock of the nation's unification to this very day. Around 40AF the faith went through a religious reformation leaded by Asmerom Meseret who reaffirmed the faith and created the Priesthood Orders that exist to this present day. The Holy Law is believed to be the laws of Magdic (heaven), or the laws which their god EUEI have placed to govern the people and even the governments of Esferos. It is believed that knowing the law and not keeping it separates you from EUEI, both here on earth and in the afterlife; as if you will not keep his laws while on earth why would you keep them after. Thus, it is also believed that after death a person will either be welcomed into the kingdom of EUEI after death, or forever separated from him in a place for rebels and murders. Today the people of Nalibia still keep the Holy Law just as their ancestors had; making it a very important part of their ethnic heritage and culture. The Holy Law faith has influenced the language, governance, art, cuisine, fashion, education, architecture, music and literally every cultural, philosophical and political aspect of the nation of Nalibia.

Key ideals of the faith are:

The Uzuyi- The teachings and tenets of the faith are found in the Uyuzi. The Uzuyi is not a single writing, but a collection of scrolls which contain the faith's teachings, ancient history, poetry and prophecy. The Uzuyi was first put together under Asmerom Meseret in 43AF; who chose 73 scrolls to be included into one book. The original scrolls are kept in a vaulted library at the Priesthood Temple only open to certain Priest and Scholars. Besides its religious significance, it is widely regarded as the finest work in Amheba literature, and has significantly influenced the Amheba language. It is also the object of a modern field of academic research known as Uzuyian studies. Believers in the Uzuyi generally consider it to be a product of divine inspiration and revelation from EUEI, and only teachings found within or inferred by the scriptures of the Uzuyi are considered truthful. The Uzuyi is believed by followers of the Holy Law to be God's own divine speech providing a complete code of conduct across all facets of life. Though the Uzuyi has many variant translations into other languages and styles, a standard version now known as the Asmerom codex, is generally considered the archetype of the Uzuyi today. A passage of the Uzuyi is read every morning on the second (Monday), fifth (Thursday), and seventh weekday (Saturday) at a Sahid, but only if there are ten males above the age of thirteen present. Reading the Uzuyi publicly is one of the bases of Nalibian communal life.

The Uzuyi starts with EUEI creating the world, then describes the early history of man, followed by the life of Akachi till his death; along with the laws which were given to him. From there the Uzuyi goes into scrolls of Nalibian history from the First Founding after Akachi's death, than writings from the early prophets, holy men and women, and others that lived between 2000BF to 379BF, until the last books of the Uzuyi describe the reformation of the faith under Asmerom Meseret.

Clean and Unclean: The faith identifies somethings as being clean which are things that can be done and welcomed by the community after or things that are pleasing to EUEI. Some examples of clean things are, regular bathing, staying away from unclean things, giving to the poor, teaching the youth and keeping the Holy Law. While other things are unclean meaning a person must set themselves apart from the community for a time to not risk becoming or spreading illness to the community, but are not necessarily things that displease EUEI. Some examples of unclean things are, burying or coming into contact with the dead before ritual cleaning of the body, women during their menstruation or after childbirth, certain infectious illnesses and eating animals not meant for food.

burner.thumb.png.c21cb8073a86c4e9cf5a94cc2a186690.png

Set Apart: Somethings of the faith are set apart as holy being only for EUEI, and for those performing duties unto EUEI. Some examples are, sacrifices are only for EUEI not for the dead nor other gods, the organs of a sacrifice are not to be eaten as they are for EUEI, the burning of some types of incense are only for the temple, the first born son of both man and animal are dedicated to EUEI, the first fruit of trees and bushes are dedicated to EUEI and the priesthood is set apart for EUEI. Thus, those whom harm them will be punish either in life or double in the after.

food.thumb.png.6497c348471a9b13f3841d466e3dd4cb.png

Dietary Restrictions: All plants, fruits, berries and nuts that can be eaten are clean. Thus, clean and unclean food has mostly to do with meat and how some foods are prepared. All insects are unclean except flying insects that have jointed legs for hopping on the ground, so only locust, katydid, cricket and grasshopper are allowed to be eaten. Clean land animals must have split hooves and chew cud, and they must do both not only one or the other, so some examples are bison, cattle, deer, antelope, sheep and goat are clean. The Holy Law only regulate fish and animals found near the surface in regards to marine life; being they must have both fins and scales, so shark, fugu, whale, dolphin and catfish to name a few are all unclean. But it allows creatures that crawl or sit on the bottom that have shells to be eaten such as crab, shrimp, crawfish, clam and oyster. Lastly the law which regulate winged animals is if it flies without feathers it is unclean, if it flies and has talons to hold large prey it is unclean, if it flies and eats mostly dead things it is unclean, if it flies and has a hooked beak it is unclean, if it has long legs or a long pointed beak it is unclean. The meat, the eggs, the milk, the hide and all things that come from an animal which is unclean is not to be eaten.

The Priesthood: The priesthood live under sperate laws than the public which are more strict. These laws include manner of dress, obligated times of fasting and/or prayer, whom they can marry, and other such laws required for their duties. Only the priesthood are allowed to build temples and places of worship; by law temples must be miles apart from one another limiting each province to having only one temple. A Sahid is a place of worship where members of the faith gather or organize. Sahids are more numerous as they serve communities and are built where ever they are needed. The difference between a Temple and a Sahid is that sacrifices are only performed at the temples while sermons are taught at Sahids.

Holy Sites

The Holy City of Chikere: Chikere is the birthplace of Akachi and the city which he ruled from. Millions of faithful make pilgrimage to the city every year to visit his tomb and offer prayers to EUEI.

The Temple of the Priesthood: The Temple of the Priesthood is also located in Chikere. Being the first and oldest of the four temples give it a very special place in the faith. For thousands of years it was the only place to offer sacrifice and it is believed that a prayer within its walls are worth 1,000 anywhere else. It is further mandated that every male of the faith make pilgrimage to the temple to offer a sacrifice at least once in his lifetime.

The Burial mound of Adelaya: Located south of Oluwakemi in Mamon province. The large tomb is said to house the bones of Akachi's dragon, Adelaya. The site is considered holy and many come to pay their respects to the once fierce dragon. Located atop a small mountain many families come for picnics and to enjoy the scenery.

Asmerom's Pool: This natural large hot spring is the very site where many faithful believe Asmerom ascended into Magdic (heaven). It is believed that the waters hold divine medicinal properties, thus millions come every year to bath in its waters. The spring is open to the public all year and the faithful swear to have been healed by its warm salty waters. Scientist have identified a high concentration of copper, silica, sulphur and other therapeutic minerals which may add vitality to the medicinal properties of this famous hot spring.

Priesthood Orders

The Priesthood of Nalibia has three Orders. Each Order has an Order Priest who is responsible for keeping his order vigilant in their role. The duty of all priest is to teach the people the ways of EUEI, but the Order of the Priest determines his specific field.

The Priesthood Order of Wisdom is responsible for the Nation's education system. This order is made up of mostly Green and Seeker priest being teachers and professors. They are also the pastors that teach the weekly sermons at the local sahids. Prophets also belong to this order giving the word's and will of EUEI directly to the people and sometimes even to its rulers.

The priesthood Order of Understanding is responsible for Disease Control and Prevention. The Yellow Priest belongs to this Order. They are Scientist and doctors and are found in labs and hospitals around the Empire. The Order of Understanding is also responsible for regulating what is okay to be served as food and given as medicine in Nalibia. This Order is also over Nalibia's Food and Agriculture.

The priesthood Order of Knowledge responsibility is to regulate communications by radio, television, wire, satellite, and cable in all provinces of the empire. These priest monitor what is aired on TV, Radio, Movies and all other media entertainment. Pure Priest make up this order keeping out the occult, paganism and other religions of the world, and overall care of the morality of the empire. Civil priest also make up the Order of Knowledge as their job is to keep out and discipline corruption in the nation.

Rank and Duties of Priest

The Priesthood and the Empire are not separate. Instead, the Priesthood is involved in many aspects of the Nalibian government, from the Justice Department to the Health and welfare programs. The Elder High Priest is the second most powerful man in the Empire only second to the Emperor, and in the event of the death of the Emperor and his Empress and if the Heir is too young to rule or if no heir has been chosen the Elder High Priest will occupy the Ivory throne until the chosen Child is 21. This has happened a few times in Nalibian history and each time the Elder High Priest peacefully gave up the Ivory throne to his rightful Emperor. The Priesthood lives strictly by The Holy Laws commanded in the Uyuzi (The holy scriptures of the faith) including the dietary laws and dress code as well as being subject to laws of the Emperor. The Priesthood has no power to create laws, but have the full authority to enforce them. All provinces of Nalibia have a temple, but there are only 4 major Nalibian temples being The Temple of The Priesthood, The Temple of Knowledge, The Temple of Wisdom and The Temple of Understanding. The Priesthood Faith is also found outside of the Empire, and these priest also answer to the Elder High Priest.

To become a priest a person must attend Priesthood School. The schooling last 4 years and can be started any time after the person has completed 8 years of schooling. Any person can attend Priesthood School, but to actually become a priest some requirements may apply.

P0-Honorary Red: During feast days the normal sacrificial duties of the Red Priest can become overwhelmed in their duty. During these times Honorary Reds will help perform the rituals of the sacrifice. At the end of the feast the Honorary Reds lose their privileges until the next feast or Holy day. Only first born Nalibian males over the age of 30 can be honorary Priest. They must pass a test to show their general knowledge of the faith and they must profess their devotion to EUEI. They are absolved of their sin with a burnt offering of a dove on the temple alter and ordained a week before the feast day.

P0-Temple Guard: Though by law the priesthood does not have its own military; the temple guard are the temple security and body guards of the Priest. They are the internal police of the priesthood whose main role is to protect persons and property of the priesthood. They have no power to enforce civil laws over everyday citizens without a warrant from a Civil Priest, High Priest or Elder High Priest, as well as needing the authorization of the local marshal to pursue the warrant. However, they do have the power to detain or arrest someone whom is in the act of a crime while on priesthood property. Any citizen can be a Temple Guard by application after completing a special 1-year course at the Priesthood school. They are trained for 6 months for their duties and are expected to be upright in character. The Temple Guard have its own rank system, in the same way as any police force.

P1-Seeker Priest: These priests are the historians of Nalibia. Their duties are to seek out knowledge and study the culture and people of foreign lands as well as their own. They bring back books from nations around the world and document much of what they seen and experienced in their travels. The role of the Seeker is not to bring back the ways of these nations, but to mostly preserve history. A seeker priest will live in a foreign nation and even work a trade for many years and bring back an unbiased observation of what was seen in the land he resided in. For their writings the seeker priest uses a 2,000 year old dictionary edition because words and meaning change over time, so in these dictionaries new words are added but once they are, the meaning is never changed. By using this special dictionary, the historical writings of the seeker priest are easy to understand no matter how many years pass between the writer and the reader. Today there is no less than 2 Seekers in any given nation of the world. These men and women are not spies and present themselves to the proper authorities when they arrive to let them know how long they plan to stay and what they hope to seek out in the nation. Any citizen can become a Seeker Priest after completing Priesthood School.

⦁    Grain offering is an offering of fine flour or unleavened baked goods, mixed with oil. A handful of the offering was burned (with incense) in the altar fire. The rest went to the priests.

⦁    Sacrifice of well-being/fellowship offering could be a herd or flock animal. Innards (fat, kidneys, and part of the liver) were burned in the altar fire. Most of the animal was eaten, divided between the priests and the offeror. This sacrifice was associated with feasting and well-being.

⦁    Sin/purification offering dealt with disruption in the relationship between human beings and EUEI. The offering depended on the identity and status of the person required to make it. The chief priest, for example, had to bring a bull, whereas ordinary Nalibians brought a female goat or lamb. Those who were too poor to afford a goat or sheep could offer birds, and an offering of grain flour was acceptable from the very poor.

⦁    Guilt offering dealt with distinct categories of wrongdoing that disrupted the divine-human relationship, such as unintentional desecration of sacred things. The Elder High Priest will then reselect the monarch from among those who was previously not selected.

Divine Judgment and the Afterlife

Kish- When a person dies, those whom are deemed wicked are separated from the presence of EUEI and are sent to Kish. Kish in the faith was not created as a place of torment by EUEI, but a place where those whom hate him or rebel against him would be seperated from him. It is a place absent of light and warmth except from the one gift EUEI gave the realm, an eternal fire. Barren of life and filled with the souls of the damned. Demons lord over the realm, and evil spirits and spiritual living being that rejected EUEI; search for pleaser in the suffering of others. It is the demons which torment the damned in ways unimaginable. True to the warped nature of the fallen; eternal fire, the only gift that EUEI gave, is most used to torment the damned. Might makes right in Kish and no one including the demons are at peace. Hunger, thirst and want are the staple of this realm. As you eat you own flesh it turns into vaper in your throat. As you drink your own blood it dries in your mouth, and as you seek for fulfillment it remains fleeting.

Aether- Those whom are granted entry into the Realm of EUEI do not escape judgment. Everyone you have ever wrong and every sin you have committed must be atoned for. How much you have wronged each person dictates how great your atonement must be to them, as justice demands satisfaction. If those you have wronged, find themselves in Kish you must go there to make atonement to them there. It is only after full atonement is made that one may enter the gate into Magdic. The Aether is here in our world, co-existing yet separate from the living. The Aether is the realm between the living and the dead, the body and the soul. It is the place angels and demons clash in a war for the souls of men. It is the place of atonement for those who escaped damnation and where most spirits reside. The Aether is the medium which prays pass through and the realm from which our ancestors and the angels guide us. A place of constant flux due to the sins of mankind. An unwaxed soul will face trails of the heart here to test their readiness to be granted entry into Magdic.

Magdic- It is The Kingdom of EUEI, a place of peace and unimaginable beauty. Here the angels and living beings of Magdic minister to one another and serve EUEI. A place where sadness is forgotten and all ailments of the body and heart are healed. Those whom serve EUEI find a special home for themselves; where they live in want of nothing. All the secrets of the universe are found here, and EUEI himself rules over the realm from a palace of gemstones. Here we meet our ancestors that we never knew, and reunite with past love ones that we lost. We become like the angels, assigned a task that our experiences in life made us perfect for. Those whom delight in fighting for the weak are sent to the Aether to fight and even capture demons and even spirits to await divine judgment. Those whom care for others will become guardians to guide mankind and regulate nature. And those who love to raise children will teach and guide the stillborn. These are but only a few task which some will be assigned, as some will stand as judges over even the angels. We will all be allowed to stand before EUEI in private to speak candidly about anything our hearts desires to speak, and we will be made whole before him that our desire to sin, melts away like wax before a flame. No sickness, nor sadness, nor malice exist here. One whom enters the Kingdom of EUEI only knows peace, love and joy.

In spite of all the businesses and industries that are headquartered in Tucmesa, the city's 24hr mass transit allows for it's roads to stay mostly free of major traffic even during peek hours. And due to it's lower cost of living in comparison to Chikere, citizens often chose to make Tucmesa its place of residence, and commute to the capital via the Imperial bullet trains.

Black Maned Dragon

Untitleddesign(1).thumb.png.ae90a3b7e7e2a67a4dba6430822be770.png
(Artist rendition of the Black Maned Dragon)

No Black Maned Dragons exist today, with the official stance of both the Priesthood and Nalibian government being that the creature is extinct. Some insist that the creature never existed at all, and that its tales are nothing more than myth and legend. Ancient writings as well as noted historian sources up till the 3rd century AF have described the Black Maned Dragon as being as big as an elephant, winged, four legged, scaled like a crocodile with fur around its head and neck, and its color ranging from jet black to reddish brown with rare instances of albinism making them white with golden brown fur. In addition to this the creature is described as being capable of breathing fire. Many theories exist as to how the creature became extinct from the growing population of mankind pushing it out of it habitat; to the creature being over hunted either to protect livestock, or even for its meat. One such historian Erastus, described the meat as being tender and sweet tasting like a mix of chicken and fish. Akachi's dragon is claimed to be buried under the Monument of Heroes at the Temple of Knowledge in Hammaana, Yatham to this day. Despite pressure from both local organizations, and outside institutions, the Priesthood has refused to desecrate the sacred monument. Alleged sightings of the Black Maned Dragon are common across not only the empire, but the entire continent of Nur. Unfortunately these sighting are unverified along with many video and photographic hoaxes being perpetrated every year.

The Banded Gazelle

Addaheading.thumb.png.26de19932b7fe09745030035dcf6954e.png

The Banded Gazelles are swift animals. Some can run at bursts as high as 100 km/h (60 mph) or run at a sustained speed of 50 km/h (30 mph). Found throughout all of west Nalibia. A nimble and beautiful animal, with a variety of stripes and markings that accentuate their tan buff coats and white rumps. They also boast a impressive, ringed horns which are collected by hunters along with there coat and meat. Like most antelopes, the banded gazelles are nomadic, migratory, or both. All gazelles are gregarious; females and young band together, as do bachelor males. During migration, the sexes associate in mixed herds, but they are segregated by territorial males whenever breeding opportunities arise. The Banded Gazelle is revered as a symbol of beauty, speed, and grace. Its portrayal in traditional dance and folklore often represents vitality, freedom, and harmony between humans and nature.

Mythology and Local Folklore

Ratalu
Addaheading(1).thumb.png.32b727ad3715da7e307696f70cc1e8a5.png
(Illustration of Ratalu from Priesthood 1053 Book of Demonology)

The Ratalu is a legendary creature found throughout Nur, but its tales originate in Gazin of Nalibia; as a creature that preys on young children. The Ratalu carries them away far from their family to gobble them up and steal their soul. The Ratalu also makes the mommy and daddy forget about the child so that if the child escapes, they can never go home again; this way the Ratalu can get them later. Luckily for little boys and girls the Ratalu cannot see, hear or smell very good, so most children go their whole life without ever encountering this terrible monster. However, when a child disobeys their parents; the child creates a scent that only the Ratalu can smell. It is said to smell like cinnamon. The Ratalu loves cinnamon as it is one of the few scents which it can smell, so whenever the Ratalu gets a whiff of it; it instantly heads in the direction of the odor. Even though the Ratalu cannot hear, when a child is up to mischief doing things, they know they ought to not do; the heart of the child starts to vibrate. It's a very soft vibration, so small most children cannot feel it, but it creates a sound which the Ratalu can hear. To the Ratalu it sounds like a child crying or even screaming which is again one of the few things the Ratalu can hear. Which is why children should be quite and not hang with bad kids; because the Ratalu always gets the loudest children first. Lastly even though the Ratalu can't see, when a child gets bad grades in school it makes their eyes glow. People can't see the glow, but the Ratalu can, and knows that a child; his favorite snack must be near because it is the only thing it can see. So to all little boys and all little girls, you should always obey your parents, and take a bath often because children naturally smell like cinnamon to the Ratalu. Don't be too loud, don't cry too much and don't be bad so the Ratalu will not hear you. Try to get good grades in school because the Ratalu can see your glowing eyes, and lastly... some even say the most important thing... If you ever wake up and your parents don't know who you are... Start being very good to make them remember, because that means the Ratalu is close by and only mommies and daddies can defeat a Ratalu.

Cyro is the capital city of Sheva. Museums, galleries, bazaars, gardens, hammams and the royal palace itself all vie for your attention, so we recommend placing yourself in the expert hands of a local guide to make the most of your time here. Opulent architecture, jacaranda-lined avenues and river-side attractions make Cyro one of the most beautiful cities in Nur. Cyro remains relatively off-the-radar for most travelers which means you can enjoy the relaxed eateries or bustling nightlife of Cyro without the traffic and crowds of more popular and larger cities.

The Spotted Hyena

pack-of-spotted-hyenas--crocuta-crocuta--in-okavango--botswana--africa-1308371169-9892decbe5cb49cdb0f711f409e54646.thumb.jpg.c34723b16065d3bdb779bc7e8d66d3ae.jpg

The spotted hyena, also known as the laughing hyena, is a hyena species, currently classed as the sole extant member of the genus Crocuta, and are native to the Nur continent. It has a large head with a long, thick, muscular neck and powerful jaws that give the hyena the strongest bite of any mammal. Its front legs are longer than its back legs, giving the hyena a profile somewhat like that of a wildebeest or bison. The spotted hyena's paws have four toes with non-retractable claws. Spotted hyenas live in large social groups of up to 130 individuals lead by a matriarch. They express complex social behaviors similar to primates and humans and live in societies structured by dominance relationships. As in other social species, social rank has a major influence on the performance and fitness of an individual. In Nalibian tales, spotted hyenas symbolize immorality, dirty habits, the reversal of normal activities, and other negative traits, and are sometimes depicted as bad people who challenge the local animism. However, in some parts of Nalibia, the hyenas is a symbol of royalty and power, associating them with mystical abilities and ancestral spirits.

Mythology and Local Folklore

The Aziza

_3b90ed4c-3daf-4392-8015-6c01a2f6a303.thumb.jpg.8bbbfbdf1c772efcd6740ca42bd26052.jpg
Aziza, also called yumboes, fairy or fey are mythological creatures which some believe can be found throughout the jungles of Nalibia. However, Sheva has fully embraced the mythology of Aziza; with modern and oral folklore, depictions of them in their art and architecture, and even modern day sightings being reported in Sheva more than any other province to this day. According to tradition, the Aziza used to live in close harmony with the people of this region, until foreign explorers became obsessed with trying to capture them. Now the Aziza hide high in the tree tops of the jungles of Sheva only reviling themselves to the pure of heart. They are described as being a beneficent supernatural race of small winged humanoids standing 22 to 30 centimeters (9 to 12 inches). Living in the forest and jungles, they are driven to help people by aiding hunters and helping lost children by providing them with good magic, and are also known to have given practical and spiritual knowledge to people (including knowledge of the use of fire). However, the Aziza are also known to be pranksters; they do this to test people when they wish to revile themselves. If a person shows themselves to be short tempered or get angry over a stunt, the Aziza will take it as a cautious tale to not be seen by that person. Like humans, they live in tribes, eat, drink and have emotions. The priesthood has classified the Aziza as a type of holy djinn, and people are allowed to commune with them (if one is found).

The Ara in Wassouta has a garden dedicated to the Aziza, in honor of the late Queen Iyendu who went to her death bed swearing to have commune with them in the Ara garden since her childhood. She was an animal rights and conservation activist; mostly in an attempt to protect the Aziza. This lead to practical real world wildlife and environmental protections of the law, and she is honored to this day for her contributions.

Capital City: Geo

Ruler: King Cherut Mayrah of house Armoni
Consort: First Queen Consort Clara of the Vlop Clan

King Cherut Mayrah of House Armoni ascended the throne in the summer of 1413. When he named his Genterrien wife, Clara of the Vlop Clan, to be his First Queen Consort, instead of taking a Nalibian second wife, it became a mild scandle. However, the years of their reign have all but buried the rocky start of their rule. Clara has been the face of her husband's many reforms, reforms that have helped hundreds of thousands extend and improve their lives, as well as their quality of life, in the province. The marriage of King Cherut and Queen Clara has created a bridge between Nouveauterra and Nalibia, fostering and improving relations between the two nations. Queen Clara, who was once shunned has become loved by the people, and is now viewed as a benevolent monarch to the people of Shay-Riyadh and even by the people of Nalibia as a whole across the empire.

Poonberry.png.3bf206b1339a35e1965db66e0a215cc8.png
The Poon Tree, also refered to as the tree of life; produces a fruit that is known as the world's most potent aphrodisiac. Though it has been known to Nur for 1,000s of years, the Poonberry only made its way to the west in the 1100s. The Poon Tree can take up to 50 years to mature, and is found only in the tropical hills of western Nalibia; mostly in Shay-Riyadh Province. Every spring its sweet scent fills the air of the towns near its orchards. The fruit grows in clusters like grapes, and are said to taste like a mix of peach and lemon. The consumption of only half of a fruit will give a man, an almost instant erection, which makes it particularly useful to treat men with erectile dysfunction. Women's libido are also heightened from the consumption of the poon tree's fruit, which helps to treat women who suffer from dryness. The fruit also gives a stronger euphoric climax to users, making intercourse more addictive; and is the reason for it being heavily regulated by the NFA. The seeds of the fruit can also be consumed, and are used to treat infertility in men, while the sap of the tree itself can help regulate women's menstrual cycles. Lastly The leaves of the Poon tree have been proven to have anti-aging properties; which not only stop wrinkling of the skin, but actually tightens and repairs it. For this reason, the leaves of the Poon tree have been used to help heal burns and other medical skin ailments for 1000s of years. Today the fruit, roasted seeds, sap and leaves are exported worldwide, making the Poon Tree one of Shay-Riyadh's major exports.

Red Peacock

RedPeacock.thumb.png.074052cdbebb12c3d94a30817d58c08e.png
The red peacock is a shiny red bird who fans out his large colorful iridescent tail feathers, especially when he's flirting with the peahens. A peacock is a male peafowl. A male peacock is more flamboyant than his female counterpart — he's the one with those long brilliant tail feathers marked with eye-like designs. Its elongated upper tail feathers form the 5-foot (1.7-meter) train for which the peacock is famous. These feathers are usually metallic green, and are decorated with iridescent ocelli, or eyespots, ringed with blue and bronze. A male may sport from 100-175 ocelli — the fanned train display is designed to show off every one. The peacock is well known for its bright feathers, which it often shows off in a magnificent courting display. A peafowl's appearance varies slightly depending on the species. The Nalibian Red Peacock has very flashy plumage, with a bright red head and neck, which they use to attract a mate. The peacock has been depicted in art since the ancient times and is seen as a symbol of beauty, rebirth, protection, wealth and masculinity, as well as of sinful pride. Dreams about peacocks are connected to positive renewal and growth. Peacock sightings are good omens that represent self-love and acceptance. The peacock is a symbol of integrity and the beauty we can achieve when we endeavor to show our true colors.
