Sensorland
Representatives of Fuentana and Sensorland have met today in the Sensorian capital of Fort Triumph for a summit to sign the Treaty of Fort Triumph, an agreement that formalizes the longstanding Fuentano-Sensorian alliance. The agreement includes, among other things, provisions for free trade and mutual defense between the two countries. The nations have been extremely friendly for over a century of history, stemming back to Sensorian aid for Fuentana in the Island War, and the benefit both nations have experienced from trade with one another across the Strait of the Sun Dragon. The formal declaration of this alliance stands as a testament to the commitment of both countries to furthering their mutual peace and prosperity. Attending the meeting on the Sensorian side are Coordinator Joe Krantor, Secondary Coordinator Harper Huxley, and Juliette Bouchard, Sensorian Delegate of Foreign Affairs. The text of the agreement follows: Quote The Treaty of Fort Triumph Preamble In the interest of lasting peace, mutual prosperity, and a desire to solidify a deep friendship between the people of Fuentana and the people of Sensorland, the representatives of the governments of the aforementioned nations hereby declare the formal existence of a Fuentano-Sensorian Alliance, whose conditions are expressed in the following treaty: Article 1: Recognition The governments of Fuentana and Sensorland, under their respective constitutions, agree to grant full recognition of legitimacy and sovereignty to one another. Each shall respect the other’s territorial integrity, domestic policy, and foreign policy endeavors. Article 2: Trade and Movement The nations of Fuentana and Sensorland shall seek to trade freely and openly, without fear of interference or restriction, and to allow movement of people between them. To that end: The parties to this treaty shall not impose upon one another restrictive tariffs, quotas, or embargoes. Neither party shall endorse, participate in, or otherwise legitimize any trade blockade upon the other. Each party will seek to ensure the safety of the Strait of the Sun Dragon for peaceful trade, commerce, travel, leisure, and scientific activity. Each party shall allow for free movement of citizens of the other party within its borders, so long as citizens come with peaceful intent. Article 3: Mutual Defense Seeking to protect the people on both sides of the Strait of the Sun Dragon from foreign aggression, maintain the safety of commerce and travel, and preserve the freedom of Fuentanans and Sensorians alike, the parties agree: Neither party shall take military action against the other, nor join any coalition that militarily opposes the other. Neither party shall conduct espionage upon the other. Should either party be attacked by a foreign nation without military provocation, or in such a way that threatens its territorial sovereignty, the other party shall aid the first party in military defense. Article 4: Sharing of Culture In recognition that each party to this treaty has a rich culture that is valuable, and that nations ought to engage with the cultures of their friends and allies, the nations of Fuentana and Sensorland shall work to promote enjoyment and study of the other’s culture within their borders. Cultural events and expositions celebrating the art, values, and history of each party are to be held to promote friendship and unity between the peoples of both nations.
