March 6, 1424 8:37 PM Polaris Eastern Time (IAT-2) Laguna Bay University Grand Hall, Port Endshe, Ludsport Ludsport University Athletic Association Rugby Season Awards “The Best Player of the Conference is a hooker,” Ludsport University Athletic Association Rugby Overseer Deanne Abbott started. There was a brief silence when Abbott said that. But when she looked at the crowd and returned to her cue cards, some of the crowd thought about the unintended pun and laughed until a sea of laughs erupted around the Grand Hall. “Not what I meant,” Abbott said in between her laughs when the thought also came to her mind. “Ladies and gentlemen,” Abbott continued, “the Best Player of the Conference is from Oakleaf University-” Before Abbott could end, everyone around Mallory Dale roared, clapped, and hugged her. Dale hasn't had the chance to hear the Rugby Overseer say her name. March 31, 1424 11:33 AM Polaris Eastern Time (IAT-2) Elite Rugby Management Executive Hall, Steskia, Thraproy Dale and co-national team player Kaelea Kimberly of Spring Hill University, along with their parents and lawyers, met with top officials of the sports management firm. They had just seen a video package made by Elite Rugby introducing the two college senior players as the new additions to the professional rugby players the firm has been representing. Dale's Oakleaf University and Kimberly's Spring Hill University are top seeds in the UAAUA Rugby Tournament. "We assure you, Mr. Kimberly, Mr. Dale," Garnet Bernard, the President of Elite Rugby Management, said, addressing the two fathers in the room, that while we will extensively promote your daughters starting tomorrow, once we've signed these contracts, we won't be receiving profit from the promotion of your daughters until their last match for their universities. “From tomorrow up until early August, the College Rugby Kings Tournament championship, your daughters will be receiving all the profits from everything we do for them until the last day they will play for their school,” Bernard clarified. “After that, we will make sure that one of the ten teams from the Adaikes Rugby will employ your daughter to play for them professionally,” he added. Everyone agreed after their lawyers provided legal advice to players and families. Mallory Dale and Kaelea Kimberly will be professional rugby players after they play their last match for their university. May 4, 1424 9:02 PM Polaris Eastern Time (IAT-2) Thraproy Regional Rugby Stadium, Perthdoches, Thraproy First Match of the Rugby Tournament Final Four The 100th UAAUA Rugby Tournament Oakleaf Oracles - 9 Palm Valley Iron Bulls - 3 Dale got up five minutes after the last whistle of the match, which indicated the end of regulation, after she knelt on the ground, bowed, and prayed. It is the first time the Oracles will play in the Tournament Championship since Oakland University accepted Dale to the university. After shaking the hands of every player from Palm Valley University she could see, she went to the Iron Bulls Coach, who is also the National Team Coach, Coach Ferne Huxtable. They hugged when they saw each other. Dale felt tears running out of her eyes from every praise Coach Huxtable said. “Is it okay if you can’t play in the Rugby Kings Tournament this June?” Huxtable asked. Dale was confused. “I’m calling you up for the national team again when we play in Overthinkers in the same month,” Huxtable offered while Dale was nodding, on the verge of crying again. “You’ve been excellent this year,” Huxtable added, patting Dale's head and hugging her again. May 12, 1424 9:10 PM Polaris Eastern Team (IAT-2) National Rugby Stadium, Steskia, Thraproy UAAUA Rugby Tournament Championship The 100th UAAUA Rugby Tournament Oakleaf Oracles - 14 Spring Hill Blitz - 10 “It’s the end of the rivalry of the two best college rugby players in the United Adaikes,” the commentator in the televised championship said. “The best defender who can also score, Mallory Dale, and the best scorer of today’s college rugby, Kaelea Kimberly, two promising rugby players who will take United Adaikes to greater heights in international rugby,” he added, as the screen shows the two players hugging out, crying. “These two seniors will be graduating from their universities with their heads held up high, leaving behind a legacy and glory to their respective universities, while they embark on the next part of their rugby careers, the professional competition,” his partner remarked. Dale was also awarded the Tournament MVP for her excellent display in the UAAUA Rugby Tournament. May 25, 1424 4:53 PM Polaris Eastern Time (IAT-2) National Rugby Team Headquarters, Steskia, Thraproy Office of the Head Coach Coach Huxtable heard two knocks coming from her main door. “You wanted to see me, Coach?” Dale spoke when she entered Coach Huxtable’s office. “After knowing you just arrived, thank you,” Huxtable replied. After ushering Dale to the left seat in front of her table, Huxtable asked, "Have you had the chance to check the rooms of the others when you arrived?" Dale shook her head and pouted, "When Georgetta [Baldwin, the security guard at the entrance of the headquarters] saw me, she said that I need to go directly here to your office once I leave my things in my room." Huxtable nodded throughout her statement. “You will be starting in Overthinkers,” Huxtable blurted. While Dale was grateful, she thought of Peregrine Norman, the starter at Hook from the two previous World Cups, and Gwyneth Zapatero, Norman’s substitute in the national team. “Peregrine is retiring from international competition,” Huxtable continued, seemingly reading Dale’s mind, “and Gwyneth is retiring from playing competitive rugby.” “Gwyneth also wanted to take up coaching,” Huxtable added, “but as to which level, UAAUA, club, or international, she hasn’t decided yet.” Dale has been with the national team since the 3rd edition in Zoran, but she has yet to suit up. She has always been in the team’s formals and sitting behind the bench during the last two World Cups. "I'll bring my A-game in Overthinkers, Coach." Dale stood up, extending her hand gleaming. "I won't let you down," she added. “I know,” Coach Huxtable replied, shook Dale’s hand, and ushered her away from her office, smiling. June 23, 1424* 10:01 PM Over Time (IAT+2) At the rooftop of the United Adaikes rugby team headquarters One of the hotels in Hestmere, Overthinkers *IC date of the 3rd match of the 2nd match day “I know you’ll be here,” Dale looked toward where the voice came from. Kimberly was gasping for air when she arrived at the rooftop, while Dale returned to watching the city nightlights. “Myrtie [Huddleston, Dale’s agent from Elite Rugby] has been calling you,” Kimberly said, in between inhaling and exhaling. Dale took her phone, which was face-down since she arrived at the rooftop. She saw 17 missed calls from Huddleston. “Thanks,” Dale said through gritted teeth. Kimberly thought she was still upset. “I’ll tell her I’ve already told you about the missed calls,” she replied, looking at the fantastic Hestmere nightlights. “Thanks,” Dale repeated, still through gritted teeth. Kimberly hesitated before sighing, taking her phone, and returning the call to Huddleston. “You can now call her,” Dale heard from Kimberly before the door closed. Only a few seconds went by when Dale’s phone rang. “Thank goodness you finally answered,” Huddleston said when Dale picked up the call. “What is it, Myrtie?” Dale asked. “I understand your emotions completely,” Huddleston replied, “especially if you lost by a close one from Teralyon.” Dale sighed. “Okay, that’s on me,” Huddleston tried to cheer Dale up, “I know it’s the internationals, but I want to hear it from you that you want to deal with this one after the World Cup.” “About what?” Dale did not care. “The Navy, the Marines, and the Coast Guard want you to play for them in the coming season,” Huddleston thought about letting the conversation play out but decided to cut to the chase instead. Dale sighed again. She does not want to think about it right now. “I’ll think about it when we get a win here in Overthinkers or when I return to Steskia, whichever comes first,” Dale ended the call hurriedly. She returned to watching the city nightlights.

Teralyon and United Adaikes ships' near-collision during naval exercise... 2 Teralyon jet squadrons leave Ljiviana island airbase heading northeast... Operation Golden Cougar?... Teralyon jet squadrons arrive in United Adaikes... Bilyad Marines' chemical attack on Cambrian ship... Six months later... 2:11 PM Polaris Eastern Team (IAT-2) President's Office, Red Palace Security, Justice, and Peace Cluster Meeting Military Affairs Secretary Carlo Charlton presented the latest on the Mille-mer: "True to everyone's commitments, Task Force 417 has been able to deter illegal activities along our coast. But our current problems, Mr. President, are the influx of prisoners in Mille-mer's corrections, with some prisoners caught in Northeast Mille-mer being ushered to Neojunc's corrections." Adaikesian President Luke Salazar faced Justice Secretary Jeffrey Searle, "Give me a report on the conditions of the mentioned corrections by next week. Can we also request if the Regional Justices of Mille-mer and Thraproy can fast-track these cases in their lower courts so that these Bilyadis are incarcerated in our larger City and Regional Jails?" Searle nodded while responding, "I was able to talk about this with Chief Justice Aucsap a few weeks back before he fell into a stroke. These shenanigans in the Supreme Court just came after, tossing questions about whether the Chief Justice seat is said to be vacated when the sitting Chief Justice suffers an illness that prevents him from accomplishing his role." Salazar replied, "I know that there's nothing in our Constitution that replaces the Chief Justice other than being impeached, dead, or retired. We'll let the Justices take care of their problems in the Supreme Court, but while we're at it, let's talk to the respective Regional Justices that are affected by these current problems of ours in Mille-mer." Searle nodded to the President's statements. Salazar then faced National Security Adviser Marian Proudfoot, “Where are we on Pouria?” "Our agents have confirmed, Mr. President," Proudfoot replied, "that Pouria has not stepped foot in any Auran or Andolian countries that have direct flights from any Polaris nations." “So Pouria may still be in any of the countries in Polaris?” Salazar asked. "That's what our agents have concluded, Mr. President," Proudfoot replied, "but you know as well, Mr. President, that as a member of the AU, we are not allowed to conduct any investigations, may it be for a local issue or an international dispute, or even deploy personnel to any of the member-countries, unless the AU allows it." "That just came from an interpretation of one country, Marian," Salazar reminded. He then faced Foreign Affairs Secretary Anne Duncan, "Did we already have an answer from AU on that matter, Anne?" Duncan shook her head and frowned. Salazar looked back to Proudfoot, "What about the things that I want y'all studied?" pointing his lips at the folder in front of her. "We're still continually looking at the source of the chemicals being used by the Bilyad Marines, Mr. President, if these are being locally manufactured or if countries are providing them resources." Salazar again faced Military Affairs Secretary Charlton and asked, "Have we done something about this to protect our own when they are against the Bilyadis? I don't want to lose Adaikesian lives over this again." "The Military Research Bureau is still looking into the components in the chemical used by the Bilyadis, Mr. President, and they still need to check if we have the necessary resources that we can use to defend our people." Salazar has had it with the Auran nation, "Why don't we just bomb Bilyad so that we won’t have to think about these problems?!" --- The former head of the United Adaikes Sports Commission has already left the country regarding corruption issues... Former United Adaikes Sports Commissioner Pouria Barr's phone rang. His head throbbed again when he saw the name of the contact who was calling him. “It’s been two months, Felice!” Barr hissed. “I told you, Pouria, these things take time,” Barr can hear the voice of the Former Trade Secretary Felice Colbert on the phone. “I’ve been here in Kurabis for three months already, Felice! The travel from Artztokzsia was even harsher.” Barr responded. “Have they been good to you so far, Pouria?” “I’ll give them that, Felice. But as long as I’m being cooped up in damp houses, my desires to return to Gasple are getting stronger.” "You are not a state priority, Pouria," Colbert reminded. "You're the one who wanted to have asylum in the first place. If you're one, you're in a state-of-the-art hotel or will be shipped here right away. Just be grateful that they're treating you with the decency you are being afforded." Three loud bangs were heard from the door of the room where Barr was staying. "And that's the reason for this call, Pouria," Colbert continued. "You're moving again, and I'll call you when I know where you'll be. If it's here in Dalimbar, I'll give you my warmest embrace and the warmest Dalimbari hospitality."

Please do not post in this thread if you are not a participant. Also, no OOC posts, please. Welcome to Rugby World Cup V! This is an international rugby union tournament. If you are a participant, you can start posting about your nation's rugby team (logo, players, kits, and any other related information). You can also post about your team's preparations for this event! Another important thing to include in your roster post is the "role play permissions". If you want to role play while making sure that the other RPer(s) won't do inevitable things you don't want to happen to your team, you can post these below outlining what the other RPers can or cannot do, for example: RP permissions: If my opponent RPs first, they may... Choose my try scorers: Y/N Choose my kicker: Y/N RP injuries: Y/N Godmod scoring events: Y/N Godmod injuries: Y/N Godmod other events: Y/N The last three permissions, godmodding, is the role playing unrealistic or unbelievable things happening. So if you want a more realistic experience for your team (and what we hopefully want in the games for the duration of the tournament), you can ask other RPers not to godmod in your matches. You can also add, leave, or remove any role permissions you want. It's your team, so we will let you dictate the way your team plays (as long as it is realistic). Also, you can include what we call a "style modifier". This is a number between -5 and +5, which indicates if you are a defensive (leaning to negative numbers) or an offensive (leaning to positive numbers) team. If you don't put one, you'll automatically get a neutral modifier (0.00), and that is just fine. There will be 3 attributes that will determine the skill of a team for the scorinator (xkoranate): base skill, RP post bonuses, roster bonus. 30% of the base skill and 70% of the total of the RP post bonuses and roster bonus will be the basis for the skill attribute of a team in the scorinator. The base skill will be from the latest Rugby Rankings being managed by the Free State of Dalimbar. NPCs will have their base skill halved in the scorinator during the whole duration of the tournament. As this is a sports RP event, all RPs made by a participant will be given a bonus. However, we believe in "Quality over quantity". It does not mean that a participant with the most number of RP posts in the tournament will have the highest RP bonus. It should be known that multiple posts of a participant before a specific matchday will only be credited to that incoming matchday alone except for posts about the team roster, as it is also a different RP bonus attribute. For RP posts, the highest score that a participant can receive in a specific matchday is 1 point, with the lowest score being 0.1, based on the quality of the current best RP for that matchday, as determined by the OOC host. On succeeding matchdays, the RP bonus received from the previous matchdays will be accumulated to the total RP post bonus. The roster bonus is about your team (as mentioned above, the logo, players, kits, and any other related information). Participants posting only the starting XV of their team will only receive 0.5 points. Posting 31 or more players will receive 1 point. Anything between 15-30 will have 0.70 points. Roster bonus will be doubled if a participant submits a comprehensive team information (with team logo and kit(s) at the minimum receiving at least a 1.2x multiplier for the roster bonus). With this, may I request that the post regarding your roster shall be posted first and your RP for the first matchday shall be separate. If you have any questions, you can always ask me in Discord. You can DM me or drop your question in #rwc5 of the RP server. You can also ask me in the OOC thread. Note: Reserving posts are only for the IC host (Overthinkers) and OOC host (United Adaikes).

Sign-ups and OOC Welcome to the fifth edition of the most prestigious sporting event of Esferos, Rugby World Cup V! For those who have participated in previous sports roleplay, you know there will be something like this. For those that have not, don't worry! To enter Rugby World Cup V, add a reply to this topic by saying, "I want to sign up for Rugby World Cup V," or anything along the lines there. However, the same rules apply just like our RMB, and double posting is not allowed (except for me posting my intentions in signing up). You can edit your reply many times. Also, this thread is for sign-ups and OOC (out-of-character) posts, like questions about the tournament. If you don't like asking questions here, you can ask them in #rwc5 on our RP Discord server or message me directly there. The IC (in-character) thread where we will be posting our nations' team information (players, kits, logo, anything related to such), roleplay (preparations, match day events), and the posting of results will be separate. The link will be announced in Discord or can be viewed here in our forums starting 6/15/2024. As mentioned earlier, as this is the most prestigious sporting event in Esferos, this is an Official Sporting Event. The World Cup, as with the previous tournaments, is done in two stages: the Group Stage (signed-up teams are put into groups and play with the teams in their group in a round-robin format) and the Knock-outs (top teams in groups will play in a single-elimination bracket to determine the winner of the World Cup). There will also be RP and skill bonuses in this tournament. For RP bonuses, this will come from RP posts and roster bonuses. Roster bonuses include other team information (kits, logos, and anything related to the players and the team). As this is already the 5th edition, all teams signing up will have a base skill bonus based on the Rugby Rankings provided by the Department of Sports of the Free State of Dalimbar. I will provide additional information on RP and skill bonuses in the IC thread. Also, I will be scorinating this tournament, but if you want your country to host the 5th Rugby World Cup IC, signify the same in your reply for signing up (only if you are a Veteran Storyteller, a role provided to you in our Discord server). A little bit of something new from the previous versions of role play: We will be assigning responsibilities to the nation that will host this World Cup. Prepare a short blurb about the bidding nation/city, information about relevant sports venues, and any additional information that makes the bid the most attractive. Additional responsibilities will be given and discussed upon your selection. Bids for hosting should be placed in Google Docs and accepted until 6/13/2024 at midnight ET, while sign-ups will close on 6/15/2024 at midnight ET. Upon the closing of host bids (the last day of sign-ups), the Lorekeepers and Loremasters will choose and select where Rugby World Cup V will take place, with the host nation being informed to the public upon the sign-up closing. That's all for now. Confused about how we will be doing this? New with scorinating? Taking a page from Resu's book, read below. We also have the RP Guidance on Sport that you might want to read: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1z0Ysn1QyDpqA5_4hFB-SxPmSbfxCoCAFKIUqb1swiY8 Nations signed up: (28/28)

The Federal Republic of United Adaikes The Federal Republic of United Adaikes is a nation in the eastern-northeastern part of Polaris, bordering Cambria in the west. The sixth most populous country in the continent with about 16 million Adaikesians, the federal government convenes in its capital, Adaikes Central, in the Adaikes region. Figure 1. The nations in Polaris, with the inclusion of Arifiyyah, Dilber, Haetonia, and Ryxtylopia from Aura The nation is divided administratively into nine (9) regions: Adaikes (the national capital), Ludsport, Marisalia (not in the map below, above Ludsport), Mille-mer (East Mille-mer and West Mille-mer), Ngadabrigg, Saymacrell, Thraproy, and Thurhope. The island regions do not have cities and are managed by the regional government. After an investment by the federal and regional governments a few years ago, they designated Thraproy as the Sports Capital of the United Adaikes. Figure 2. The regions in the United Adaikes Thraproy has five (5) cities: Fort Bloom, Neojunc, Perthdoches, Steskia (the regional capital), and Wrarnerbadshot. Sportstown is found in the greater and central Steskia, and to uphold the name of the Sports Capital in the country, stadiums, courts, and other playing venues of every known sport can be seen around the whole region. Figure 3. The administrative divisions in Thraproy Steskia Sports MICE Complex Located in central Sportstown, Steskia, the 7-story Sports Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, and Exhibits (MICE) Complex is where the United Adaikes Open for darts will take place. Two floors will be used for the tournament. The Main Hall on the third floor will have 17 dart boards, eight (8) boards on each side, and the championship board at the opposite wall from the entrance. Outside the Main Hall are stalls for non-liquor refreshments and food. When a player is currently playing, they are not allowed to leave the Main Hall, especially the board where they are scheduled to play. The designated team lounges are on the second floor, where liquor can only be consumed when inside the MICE Complex. Smoking is not allowed inside the MICE Complex. However, a designated smoking area outside the complex near the car park entrance is provided for smokers. Transportation After arriving at the Steskia International Airport (northeastern Steskia, near the borders of Steskia, Perthdoches, and Wrarnerbadshot) and if someone will fetch you and your delegation, or you just want to take a taxi, you can take the STX-SPT Skyway. This dedicated road network will get you from the Steskia International Airport to Sportstown in central Steskia. Please do not post in this thread if you are not a participant. Also, no OOC posts, please. Welcome to the 1423 United Adaikes Open, a darts competition! This is a ranking tournament hosted by the United Adaikes despite being the first in-canon tournament for darts. This tournament welcomed 45 players from 11 countries. The host country will also be sending their top 19 players. The Doubles event will be a straight single-knockout match where places in the tournament bracket are drawn blindly. The Singles event will start with a 4-player group stage with two (2) players from each group advancing to the Knock-outs stage, where places in the tournament bracket have already been pre-determined depending on which group you played and which place you finished in your group. In canon, this tournament will run for two days, on December 29-30, 1423, with the Doubles event played on the first day and the Singles event starting on the second day. However, results will be scorinated and posted per round, spanning eight (8) days of scorination for this tournament.
