I must say, detaching the roles of Head of Imperium Government and Delegate isn't an option I'd thought to go down. It's certainly an interesting prospect.

Decadence and depravity is certainly a goal to work toward. Aye, WW, I know the nature of TWP's system makes the nature of theming a Government very tricky. For the purposes of the theme aspects (and the elections too I suppose) I figured we should treat the Imperium as the sole legitimate Government of the The West Pacific, as it is the current and only state to stake that claim. Personally, I do like the title of Imperator. I'd be open to doing something with my own ministry toward involving new players, a Civil Service of sorts. Though personally I'd like a theme in place first. The more Menacing, Decadent and Depraved the better IMHO.

The more astute of you may have noticed a distinct lack of activity in the West Pacific's forums of late. There are many reasons for this, but the highly trained gerbils of the Interior Ministry have decided that its probably due to us having very few active posting members. I had intended to write up a plan of things I'm going to do to get activity started, but I've just decided that sucks so I'm ad libbing this announcement. You'd better get used to that if you don't intend to recall me or something. In my opinion, the activity levels of the forum are chronically poor. I can't speak for the source of the issue, but I think if we don't take action to reverse it fairly soon then we may never fully recover. With that in mind, I think its time that we as a region and a community sit down with one another, take stock and think seriously about where we want to be in two, six, twelve months time. I'd like to keep this discussion largely organic, so for now I'll not let my own agenda taint the discussions too much. But there are two questions I believe we should consider. Firstly, the question of Democracy, which I raise due to the notoriously democratic TNP being the most active feeder. I believe that TAO's Guardian system works excellently, and would not seek to change the way delegates and guardians are appointed to their posts. However, with regards to Ministerial positions I encourage the members of the Concilium to push for elections, whether by challenge or cycle. I'll not say more on that, as its a legislative issue that should probably be dealt with by the Speaker, but I feel it would increase activity and at least wanted to mention it. Secondly, and strictly relating to this Ministry this time, are themes. My reasoning for bringing this up are the staggeringly high activity levels of well-themed regions like Lazarus, Albion and every UK themed region in history (seriously, all of them - what's up with that). Would we as a community be willing to adopt a theme for the Government of the region? If so, what? So, let's discuss! What does the active West Pacific of the future look like to you?

At least my send-off will be a booze up I suppose.

Delegate and Guardians; I, along with at least seven other nations in The West Pacific, have recieved this recruitment telegram from a member of International Northern Union (it's recuitment if you tl;dr): In the meantime I replied with this telegram to the 7 others I know have received it; I'd like to request that the delegate sends a region-wide telegram informing the region of these mistruths, as well as advertising the forum. In addition, I was wondering if the Guardians would consider sanctioning a counter-recruitment strategy, sending West Pacifican recruitment telegrams to every nation that enters International Northern Union. Hello, and welcome to The West Pacific! I've seen you in NSGP sporting the Malice flag in various OFO related threads, nice to finally meet you. There's plenty of things you can do here in West Pacifica. We've got the WPAF for you to enlist in, the Imperium Secret Service for you to apply for (though I'm not sure how active it is - but then, who is? It's a secret) and the Concilium (assembly legislature) for you to join. Also, you have the privilege of joining on a Karaoke Friday. So get on the RMB, post lyrics and stuff. It's a tradition, and not partaking has been known to cause sudden outbreaks of Marsupial related death.
