  1. With TWPs tradition of threadjacking, it's going to be difficult to summarize any thread as they tend to wander all over the map.

I completely forgot about that issue.  It might be the Achilles' heel to summarizing.  However, maybe people only summarize the important stuff?

  2. I would consider any thread long if there are more than 30 posts.

And yes, the board is fairly inactive.  I guess that I meant fast relative to that.  However, the overall forum speed is picking up.  It would be nice to have summaries for the newer people, and to get prepared for if this forum actually becomes really active (if there's more people on the forums, it will be harder/more time consuming for individuals to get caught up.

And on an uncalled for side note, I would summarize every page or so, or fewer than that if the comments are lengthy (EX: posts are usually longer than a paragraph).

  3. Threads on this forum are sometimes populated quickly with posts, and large posts at times.  Not everyone is on the forums visits the forums (or at least I assume so) often, or at least don't spend a good amount of time on the forums.  When someone who spends a small amount of time enters a thread populated with sizable posts, it can be quite obnoxious reading through it all.  So, I suggest we have some people going around summarizing larger threads that are still active and/or relevant.  I'm not saying that this should be a task assigned to a few people, but rather anyone just summarizes what's going on in the thread so that everyone that participates in the thread is on the same track.  This can be done by people posting in the thread, a spectator, or just anyone else.

  4. I think we should have an Anti NS Fascism (Nazi) tag if only for the reason of their incessant spamming and links to racist third party web pages.

Part of me thinks that some of these guys are actually "trolling", and this will only "feed" them.

  5. I asked for an embassy exchange with Unknown.  I received a response from Avakael.  He/she stated, "Just have the delegate of TWP actually request the embassy ingame."

And a somewhat unrelated question, when people state ingame, they mean through Nationstates, no?

  6. I've completed posting the Monthly Dispatch for April, and I will probably ask for an exchange of embassies via PM if I can't find the right forum place to do so. (Edit:  I'll just go through technical support to find out how to properly ask the question.)

I'd be willing to take two ambassador jobs.  However, how does the transfer work in the other region's forums?

  7. (I couldn't find the other thread where I was given the mission, so I'll just post it here.  This might also be a more suitable thread to do so as well.)

Well, my mission to establish an embassy with the region Unknown has been a success.  I'll be starting to post updates with them and the monthly dispatch.

Is there anything else specific from the past that you would want me to post?

Also, knowing that it is a new month, do you want me to cancel posting the April Monthly Dispatch?

Also, any other ambassador jobs that I could take up?

  8. You do have to understand that NationStates isn't a true political simulator.  What you though would give you a free capitalist society may just give you the opposite.

And you can thank all of this on the little depth to the actual game.  Every issue gives you a few options, and each option usually increases one part of your government while decreases another.  That's just how it goes.  I would personally love to have a more socialist state with some capitalism, except the options only give me socialism or corporatism (not even "real" capitalism).  The best thing, in my opinion currently as I'm typing this up, would be to only answer the issues that would get you closer to your goals and hope for the best.

Me personally, I just answer almost all issues.  They're quite interesting, and it's also intriguing to see how your actions affect your country.  Maybe sometime down the road I'll actually be a little more serious with my country.  :P
