Mass Traffic Jams in the North

With the creation of the last few state roads, the ongoing traffic problems still aren't resolving. We asked the Minister of Transport on his opinion about this. "As long as people still get to their destination, we don't have to worry about traffic jams. We already poured another 5 billion into building these state roads! What the people need is more Law Enforcement and Defense Fonds!"

As for the Minister believes in it being enough, we here at The New West do too. Eventually it will resolve with time. For example, in the evening, the traffic is dying down due to people returning home. Also, we could incentivise more people riding with bikes! Helps the nature, and our earth.

 

 

Man killed after walking down the street and looking at a police officer 

 

Yesterday afternoon on the 19th of August 1422, a man walked down the Nelgard-Esch street, wielding something that looked like an unbenownst weapon. The man then proceeded to look at the police officer where the police officer described his almost stare as "Full of hatred and contempt".

The man then proceeded to walk towards the officer, seemingly wanting to ask a question. The Police Officer then pulled his gun and shot the suspect 3 times in the head and 4 times into the chest and legs. The "Weapon" later revealed as a pen, wasn't a weapon after all. The Police Department reviewed body cam footage and found the Police Officer at threat.

Government passes new law

24th of August 1422. Ministers and advisors gathered in the "Great Hall" of the Leadership building in West Fauthur to discuss a pressing issue and possibly discuss enacting a new law because of it. Which happened. Many ministers brought forth the issue of the ever increasing number of traffic jams and congestions on the roads of Fauthur. Due to this dilemma, many goods aren't reaching companies on time, emergency services have to take alternate routes that take 20 minutes longer to drive, effectively rendering help void, and many more issues present. After a heated talk with the Leader upon solving or atleast trying to improve upon this situation, the Leader decided, along with the ministers, that 1: The Highways and roads of Fauthur, especially in the east and on the checkpoints should be expanded and some more roads be built and finished in approximately 3 years, and 2: A new law is enacted urging citizens to take public transport, if the commute they are willing to take is longer than 150 kilometers.

 

Agriculture more productive than ever

Studies have shown, that in the last few years the level of agriculture has been improving. There has been a lot more crop yields and a heavy increase in availability of dairy and meat products. This could be due to an increasing amount of farmers and better regulations on how to do certain things. Also, since the incentive on agriculture last year that discounted 20% on a farmers first 10 assets, be it a vehicle, a field or whatever, there has been a lot more activity in and around agriculture.

 

Employee shortage at IT businesses

Dire situations in the east this week. An increasing number of people quit their jobs at multiple IT companies because of a lack of payment or overall bad work environments. To counter this issue, those IT companies, with a little stern talking from the government, have voluntarily decided to more strictly control the work environment and are making sure that payment is delivered on the day it should be. There has also been a pay rise of 5% on the IT front for several jobs so far. So, if you're interested and have the qualifications, why not take a job!

 

District West Fauthur: 3 die in car accident

On the morning of the 25th of August at around 4 am, on the Belhave intersection in the city of West Fauthur, there has been a heavy accident. A couple of cars commuting to their early morning jobs stopped at a red light on Belhave intersection just to hear the ever closening horn of a truck. Said truck then struck 3 vehicles at approximately 90 km/h, rendering all 3 cars with total damage and 3 people dead. Bpth drivers of the last, and second to last vehicle were killed as they were the first to encounter the truck. the first car to be struck also happened to have a second passenger, a child of the driver who was pronounced  deceased at the hospital later.

The truck driver has been sentenced to death on 3 counts of involuntary murder and a hefty sum will be given out to the affected families as a sign of hospitality.

North Fauthur
Mostly calm in the North (Jurisdiction Berklozt, Brae and Hoita) with a couple of strong winds hitting Saugh and the Jurisdiction Brae on the 3rd of September. Otherwise, the weather is going to range all the way from 9°C in the nights, up to 25°C in the afternoon times. Also be sure to take an umbrella with you on the 31st because a thunderstorm from West Fauthur is rolling over the country from east to north west. Jurisdiction Hoita and city Nom included.

East Fauthur

For East Fauthur (Jurisdiction Ghask and Torght) it is going to be a calm week with no rain or storms and mostly a wind calm weather throughout the week. The weather is going to range from 13°C in the nights up to 25°C in the afternoon times. Have a safe commute!

Warning: Possible Field Fires on the northern parts of Jurisdction Torght and Gelcc on the 2nd of September due to dry weather and high temperatures accumulating.

 

South Fauthur

In South Fauthur (Jurisdiction gelcc and gar, and islands Mila and Sur) expect mostly the same weather as in the east with a couple of rainy days on the 30th of August and the 3rd of September. Tmperatures range from 13°C in the night, 8°C on Mila and sur, and up to 25°C with exceptions on the lower parts of Gelcc , Mila and Sur, where the highest temperatures will reach 34°C.

Analytics after Traffic Jam "Resolution" by the Leader

On the 24th of August 1422, the Traffic jam bill was passed in government to help improve upon the traffic jams in Fauthur. We have analysed the data from the first week of the bill passing. The results: 

- A considerate amount of people started using public transport services. The Government monitored a 20% increase in the use of busses, trains, subways and more

- Even without the need to, many people in Fauthur are willing to take their bike instead of cars

- There has been less emissions overall in the country

 

But even after all of these improvements and practically no public outcry regarding the bill yet, a new problem has fallen into the eye of the government: Railways and trains. With the increasing number of commuters taking public transport, the Fauthurian Railway Cooperation has shown, that the country is in dire need to expand upon the transport capacity of trains and a modernisation of railways. 

 

Crime rates in Fauthur hitting all time high

Since the past 5 years, Fauthur has seen a hefty rise in crime. The exact amount is a rise of 30%. This makes Fauthur have a medium of ~1,000,000 crimes per year. Reason for this could be the increasing population, tourists, overall need of workers around the country and non proper raising of children. 

Currently Fauthur is also experiencing a recession in people able to perform jobs. For example: People that are unable to work due to old age and fewer and fewer adults that can take jobs. This problem although should resolve itself within a couple of years as Fauthur is simultaneously experiencing a sort of baby boom one could say. Overall people from ages 3-14 are double as much as people from the ages of 20-48.

 

Underfunded and unequipped fire departments in south Fauthur

As the last week's weather report told us, there was a significant chance of fires happening on many fields in the south Fauthurian regions. In fact, last week reported around 30 field fires from around the region and also 13 from south-east reagions. Police also suspect that a few of these fires were deliberately started and are investigating. This showed that the response time of firefighters to the scenes were many times insufficient to arrive in time and cut off the fires. As a result, entire fields burned down. Oftentimes, the fire departments didn't bring enough water to the scenes, rendering them unable to fight the fire that was blazing on through the fields. Leader now calls for an improvement on the situation and is diverting funds (Although we don't know how many) to fire departments all across the country. also incentivised to build more fire departments to counter long response times and overwhelming amounts of fires at once.

Additional to that, the Flightcard can also be used to get discounts on flights, discounts on different classes and maybe even a couple of free flights at Air Fauthur. To get such a card, simply ask the attending personal at the check out of your next flight, and we'll give you your own Flightcard. To use the Flightcard simply hand it over to the personal at the checkout and they will enter the data of the flight you've just arrived from. You can see the details and track your flight scanning the QR-Code at the back of your card. Don't forget to let the personal at the check-in scan your card to make tracking available for the flight! Dear Readers of The New West

 

It has come to our attention, that many of our readers aren't satisfied with our coverage. Also, in the last few weeks there have only been analogue, and not online versions of The New West. Reason for this is an insufficient amount of people currently working at our headquarters to bring you the online experience. This however should change as we ar currently training new hires and our newspaper should be up and running by sunday again (Many real life issues and stuff to do too. Should be all resolved by sunday)). Now, regarding the coverage problem, we are severely limited in our work by the government, as state controlled media regulations do not allow longer issues. We are sincerely sorry about this, but we will keep at it with our best and take oly the most interesting headlines into account, if possible. New Legislation From The NCC

License Plates Now Unitary?

 

West Fauthur - January 7th, 1423

For several months now, diplomats from across all of Nur were travelling abroad to West Fauthur to be apart and discuss in the NCC (Nuran Cooperation Commission) on how the nations of Nur can achieve, that our continent can be more unified and made less reliant upon other continents such as Polaris for example.

In those several months, diplomats and delegates from all of Nur came to West Fauthur. Indluding but not limited to diplomats of; 

-The Republic of Sekiya

-The Directorial Republic of Rivalfiume

-The Infinite Empire of Aukera

-The United Nations of Kalmach

-The United Republics of Fauthur

Lastly, many proposals have been submitted, such as freedom of movement or a unified space program. One proposal though stood out from the others as the NCC came to an agreement on it. License Plate Standardization. Now, to this agreement there have also been brought forth many designs from all across Nur. The NCC came to an official agreement on one plate, which was chosen from all partaking nations to adopt and use from the start of July 1423. For this, the question of foreign travel came up and all agreed that after a period of 5 years, a red-tagged license plate in the design of the agreed upon shall be adopted.

 

Now, why should Nur adopt a unified proposal for license plates?

A representative of the NCC gave us an answer;

"For one, it is good for identification purposes. A unitary license plate across Nur can be safely identified without searching through tedious paperwork and trying to understand all the different plates. It is also made easier to let cars pass inspection on border checkpoints due to an easier understanding of said plates. It is also good for use for international recognition. For travellers to Nur, it may seem irritating having different license plates across every country and having to learn each one when they are having a vacation in that country. That's why having a unitary system helps. Now Foreigners, Immigrants, Natives and so on can read the Nuran license plates in a heartbeat. It is lastly a lot safer to have a unitary plate as it eliminates cross country smuggling operations by ground....."

 

The proposed plate is supposed to look like this and will be mandatory in newly built cars from July 1423 onwards:

Be wary that the usage of these plates from any member nations are not mandatory and a member nation may choose to keep their current plate, effectively skipping this proposal. It will also be free to use for non-member nations.

The first variant shall be for cars and trucks and the second one for motorbikes and smaller vehicles. 

It is urged that when time comes, the citizens of Fauthur immediately make use of the license plate for as a penalty fee up to 200PT may be issued. Upon further usage after being already warned, you may be at risk of gaining a penalty point to your license or your license may be taken away for up to 6 months.

 

The Fauthurian Head of State of Head of Government have also discussed a permit to use the old license plate if one desires to use it. Although, even with the permit, you are urged to acquire a new standard license plate for the identificaion purposes and have it somehwere ready in your car.

Kerglom Hafth Denounces Aftokratoria being a part of Nur

 

West Fauthur - February 16th, 1423

BREAKING NEWS AT THE WEST WEST FAUTHUR HALLS

At a public speech this afternoon, Head of Government, Kerglom Hafth got into a heated discussion with an audience member at his monthly public speech in the West West Fauthur Halls, where he loudly exclaimed that: "Aftokratoria will not be recognised as a part of the Nuran continent, and never will. It is simply situated too far north of that it would ever be recognised as a Nuran state, and should therefore not particiapte in our politics." This was not well received by the audience, aswell as fellow politicians as this part of the speech was uploaded to social media in just a couple of minutes, sparking a "shitstorm" on the web with several people not being satisfied of Hafth's actions. Furthermore, Hafth openly defended his words, not trying to diffuse the situation. This is seen as a international statement to Aftokratoria which could cause massive backlash upon the government or even the country. A lot of effort is being made as to cover up this incident but it is already too widespread to do anything about it. Hafth already has several scandals behind his back even before the candidacy for Head of Government. For example, Hafth has once been caught spreading lies about the then current government which was not successful. The other time he tried to rig elections in favor of a center right politician who was promptly discharged from his position as a politician and permanently disbarred from participating in any political actions. It is, as honest as we say it, a small wonder Hafth even got to where he is today, stating that he's bettered himself from back in the day, which, as we see today, is not true as he is starting to reveal his true nature once again. 

 

There has not been an official response from the government of Fauthur, nor the government of Aftokratoria on this incident yet. And it doesn't seem as though Hafth will receive any consequences yet, but future will see. The public of course hopes that the Aftokratorian government does indeed not take this seriously but as Hafth said it, this matter may be more pressing and serious than we think, as it is in fact an official statement made by him , the Head of Government.

Majorly Successful Fauthurian Racing Team "Epsylon Fira Racing Team" to compete in the Esferos F1 Championships

 

West Fauthur - May 25th, 1423

It truly has been some past difficult months for E-Fira Racing Team Leader Kentrijk Heifth and his team. Ever since word got out that the Esferos F1 Committee is scouting for suitable racing teams in Nur to take part in the grand Esferos F1 world cup, the team gave it their all and intensified their PR accordingly, pulling hoour after hour of overtime and giving racing and team building a lot of effort. In that time they won 3 major racing leagues. The Fauthurian Rallye Championship, The Fauhturian National High Speed Circuit Grand Prix Tournament, aswell as the RallyX Championship going alongside the normal Rallye Championship. During that time, many of E-Fira's drivers improved especially on high speed head to head races, and time cutting, consistency. Upon the announcement of E-Fira actually being accepted to the Esferos F1 Championship, the HQ in Bolia Verde, Espirtu Santo, must have been bouncing up and down with happiness. Fauthurian social media is also blowing up as we speak. There has never been so much pride and hype for Fauthur in a sporting competition since we were part of the United Nations of Kalmach. All kinds of people singing praises up and down. 

Now, what an insider of TNW (your newspaper truly) found out, is that Head of Government, Kerglom Hafth has shown great interest in the success of the Fauhturian team in the upcoming Championship. He himself has not yet made any statements about this issue and keeps a poker face throughout the whole ordeal. Also seemingly withdrawing from the whole Aftokratorian affair as if it never happened. The Aftokratorian issue is being largely overshadowed by the Esferos f1 Championships currently and seemingly no one is batting an eye on international affairs for now. We hereby want to warn you, dear readers, that there is always a possibility of grave mistakes happening everywhere around you, as well as in the government. We ask you to keep this in mind as international affairs, especially the Championship progresses.

And please do not get rowdy in any foreign states. Always watch your alcohol intake and drive safe. We ourselves are also very proud of the Epsylon Fira Racing Team.

Plans to build Goerg-Esch canal leading through Fauthur rumored to come into action coming November

 

As it was already clear that there is great potential to shorten the sea route around the west of Nur by building a canal leading through Fauthur on the thinnest point on the border to Campa Simpatica, some reports claim that the government wants to start construction of the Georg-Esch canal coming November. The mega project would be dubbed “Proijek Korban” (Project Korban) and would require a yet unknown, but huge sum of money to fund. The process of building the canal will span across several years until completion. Of course, beware it is just rumors but they sound promising. If the plans for the canal are indeed real, upon completion it will be a great help and boost to several economies in Nur and effectively shortening time for vessels.

Suspicious arrival at Fauthurian naval base

At approximately 11 PM on Sunday, anonymous sources witnessed a strange arrival of 2 Fauthurian naval vessels on the Albrecht naval base in Berklozt. Apparently, these vessels were identified as both the UNFC Grafen-Holmer and the UNFC Ventig, which was surprisingly burning amidships. Both ships looked like they were in an engagement prior to arriving back at base. Should we worry about that? What is the government trying to sweep under the rug? There is definetly something going on between our nation and the nation of Aftokratoria, and that may be our prove that there is more than meets the eye already. 

But don’t forget, don’t believe everything you see on the news, we could be wrong afterall but we try our best to give you the most serene and informative articles possible.

Fauthurians and the problem with discrimination

Many times in history and in the modern day, there has always been a huge uproar in politicians making lifes worse for immigrants and tourists from abroad. New studies show, that the majority of the Fauthurian populace is not content with most tourists and immigrants in their near area. 58% of surveyed people claim that they are immediately hostile towards non native Fauthurians and don’t trust them. This is a rise of 3% in contrast to the last 2 years and is only getting worse; especially for individuals of Aftokratorian nature. The recent tensions have caused many incidents involving hostility towards Aftokratorians, even going as far as setting buildings with Aftokratorian residents alight in the night. Multiple affected people across the whole country state that it’s getting unbearable and are considering leaving the country for good before something even more serious happens. One man, who wants to keep anonymous said the following: “We just want to live here in peace. We can not control what happens on the political and international state. We can’t do anything about being Aftokratorian. Why are we getting targeted, insulted and even hit in broad daylight in the middle of the city? This is outrageous and I just can not understand why people do it. Again, I can only say that we want to live in peace and we can not do anything at all about what’s happening. My wife and I are done with this treatment and we want to leave the country soon. It’s a shame really, we liked the landscapes and before the whole political ordeal, people were still nice to us. Our neighbors came over every sunday for some cake and coffee but now they won’t even talk to us and ignore us.”

 

This is very concerning for many people across Esferos and majorly for Aftokratoria. We ask of you to maybe overthink your choices and be nicer to people. Especially those who come from abroad to make everyone have a nice and fun time. We don’t want to be seen as the most hateful people on Nur after all.
