Election Day

October 2, 1421

With the year almost coming to a close, so do the terms for President Huerta, the elected candidate for the Republican Party. Under the constitution, this is his final consecutive term, having run the country back in 1413 with the slogan "Build Progress, Be Progressive" under his first term. Today, the nation's parties are running their candidates to be the next president of the republic. President Huerta has expressed great gratitude to the country's leading figures, and displayed a fair goodbye to the people as the wise and humble 6th president.

Regardless who wins this race for presidency, the parties will also compete over several empty chamber chairs of office. Now onto the chosen candidates of this year's election:

The Republican candidate is none other than Alejandra Cortez, a long time ally and close friend to President Huerta, chosen to be his successor in the party. Focusing on corporate regulations dealing with the fishing industry, textiles and software companies, high speed rail expansion and urban development, and foreign affairs such as the infamous Zoran Civil War currently underway. Producing foreign aid to them and approaching the war in a diplomatic effort.

Daniel Vasquez, Conservative candidate, has a different approach to foreign affairs, dealing with an isolationist policy and focusing on domestic issues like the revitalization of the auto industry as a private sector under corporations. They also seek to increase the welfare of the population, such as healthcare, social security and water distribution, and increase military build up for the navy and army, which was lacking in requirements and recruiting. All that requires a new tax height, or reliable source of income for which the nation has plenty for government spending.

The Patriots' candidate, Nevada Villa Grande, has her own approach to these as well. Daughter to the traditions of a tribal folk, she sought to deal with disputes between the much larger populations of Grascen and foreigners like the Mayans and Podium people and her own tribe and others. Reforming the domestic ministry for tribal disputes and other related issues, encouraging tribal population growth, rebranding the old faith to the general population in a "less devout" nation, and building an alliance with the southern Polaris nations as their own regional power dynamic.

The Unionists have their pick for presidency, Olivia Valentine. Under their name, the "Unions for All" Socialist Party has scored local victories over their protection of labor and blue collar unions for many of the largest city centers and industries that they felt needed to be expanded into federal law. Like with the Republicans, they have a focus on urban development, aiming to "revolutionize it". They wish for the nation to be recognized more greatly in the Rønnøn Forum and display a willingness to share their achievements through democracy, with a new education system.

Unlike with other parties, the Greens and Libertarians have displayed no need to compete with the others in this specific election, however they have interest in the legislative race. Having established their nominees to an agreement with their respective coalitions. That being said, the Libertarians have interest in the economy, and wish to cut federal taxes, provide subsidies to the nation's growing industries and services, and display some vague interest in foreign affairs. Whilst the Greens had planned to draft new laws to expand the nation's green energy industry such as solar panels, and place regulations on the less green areas of the economy, provided that they will open new jobs for the not so green workers.
