Vanessa Desniowynsk: "Good morning Giovanniland! It is time for another Cricket Report with me and my colleague Carlos Nakamura-Edristyn about the latest game played by the Giovannilandiana Equipa, this time against our fellow Auran nation of Saint Mark. As speculated after the last game, there were some changes in the lineup: Vanda Opheryk Marques replaced Ivone Shang-Quardyn as one of the all-rounders, while Frederico Vidal-Arveredo replaced Zulmira Frambersa as one of the bowlers. Just like the previous game against Fhaengshia, our team fielded first and today they scored 144 points in 20 overs, losing only 6 wickets. This was marginally higher than our amount of points in the first game, however it was not enough to win as the Saint Markian team scored four more points than us while losing the same amount of wickets. Furthermore, they were able to do it in just 16 and two thirds of overs, thus automatically ending the game as a win for them and a loss for us. This unfortunate result makes a Giovannilandian advancement to the Super Eight impossible, and in the review of our entire group, Carlos will explain why."

Carlos Nakamura-Edristyn: "After another defeat, now giving us a score of 0 wins, 0 draws and 2 losses resulting in no points as well, Giovanniland is sadly eliminated from the tournament. In the other game of Group C, the Andolian nation of Fhaengshia was able to defeat another opponent, this time Dilber, which will be our opponent in the last round. Therefore, the current state of the group has Fhaengshia with 4 points at the top, Saint Mark with 3 points, Dilber with one point, and ourselves with none. This makes impossible that we advance to the Super Eight, since a win only awards two points and, even winning against Dilber, we would not reach the 3 points held by the 2nd place nation. That way, the results our last game against Dilber will not matter much for us, although it's expected the Dilberians will fight for the win and hope for Saint Mark to lose so that they qualify for the next round. Saint Mark, meanwhile, guarantees a place simply by winning, or even losing to Fhaengshia if Dilber doesn't win against us. Finally, Fhaengshia is already qualified for a spot at the Super Eight, although the last games will see whether they advance in first or second place. Anyways, that is all for today! See you tomorrow for the report on our last match of the T20 World Cup, which will be against Dilber as I've already said before."

"Good show, team! This is what I knew you could do!"

Coach Waterman beamed at his team who were once again assembled in the locker room.

"Your defensive strategy was well-planned and well-executed, Captain. I loved the way everyone attacked each batsman right away and early in the match, before they could get comfortable. It really kept the pressure on. Your long barrier was just what we needed at the moment, Gomez! Nice job! Hunter, you were much more focused today. There was very little that got away from you. Hal, you seemed to be more into your rhythm."

"Offensively, we played well too. It was smart play, not just slapping at anything that comes along. Czarneki, that back foot defense was perfect. Did everyone see how he made sure to get back on his crease and meet the ball on top of its bounce? He maintained control the whole time. Well done!"

"This is the type of play we need to continue to go all the way!"

On the way back to the bus, Tristan caught up with Lucy, but just as he was about to address her, Katie ran up and hugged her.
"We're doing it, Lucky Lucy! We're taking our cricket to the world and showing them what Saint Mark can do!"

Lucy laughed. "We've got a long way to go yet. It's too early to celebrate. Do you want to jinx us?"

"We can't be jinxed with you on our team, Lucy," gushed Tristan, who blushed and turned to climb onto the bus.

Katie and Lucy looked at each other and laughed.

May 12, 1421 9:25 PM IAT; right after the Santos-Dominius captain was interviewed

"Well, what I said after the first game was actually the plan for this game," Albrektsson replied, when asked about their win. "It's always a wonderful feeling getting the whole opposing team all out and not finish their innings," he added, "the focus on bowling and fielding in our last practice really paid for us. But, we want to be the all-around team on our last game for the First Round that would let us advance to the Super Eight."

When asked about the reason Coach Laud held the team up until around 10:30 last time, Albrektsson replied, "It's just the reminders Coach had for the team, and the expectations for this game and the coming ones. We'll surely bring the momentum we had from tonight, roll through it in tomorrow's practice, iron what needs ironing, and continue with it in the next games."

After the players had their showers and changed to their formals to return to their hotel, they were surprised to see Coach Laud already waiting for them in the bus, fast asleep.

May 12th 1421

9.25 PM IAT

"The team performed really well today. I am happy with the team, and how they performed. The batsmen were exceptional today, racking up 187, but most importantly losing only 2 wickets. The bowlers gave away some free runs, but they managed to give an amazing performance in terms of wickets claimed. Jasprit was exceptional, taking 4 wickets, and Trent and Kagiso supported him very well in limiting the Denierians. Rohit and Virat were amazing in the middle, they were really important in reaching to this score. That is all I will say for now," the Coach said as he left to go to the dressing room.

9.45 PM IAT

"Well done guys. Today was amazing. You just have to ensure that we carry on this form against the Santo-Dominians. Their match against us is a do-or-die for them, so expect them to put up a very serious fight. I expect them to be working really hard, and I expect you to work equally hard, if not more, to counter their extra motivation. Get to the hotel and rest up. We get back to training tomorrow," the Coach said in a address to his team.

Kohli added to the coach's speech, "He's right, We should expect a very tough match against the Santo-Dominians, they will be very motivated, but so are we, because we need to win as much as they do. We cannot leave our fate upto the net-run-rate. Trust me, we do not want to go down that road, so let us work hard, and ensure a qualification without all that hassle."

The team rallied around that speech as they left for the hotel, to sleep, and return to training the next day to prepare for a tough Santo-Dominian challenge on the 14th of May.

The screen opens to the team in the changing rooms.

"Hi guys..." Bernard starts, sighing

The team are seated looking frustrated in the background. It feels just a little too dramatic.

The captain goes on to explain the depressing loss against Cambria. How they headed in too confident, and how it came back to bite them.

The stream ended quickly, fans comments of support for the team, with a couple of comments of annoyance mixed in.

The team all look to each other. Bernard cleared his throat.

"We have to win this next match."

Evander nodded in agreement, while the others look at him, unsure of what to do.

"I am thinking, we check out H&J's previous matches tonight, see what they are good at and not so. We should plan to play to our strengths and their weaknesses."

Evander pipes up "I think we should assign bowlers to batters- I'm great at lower throws than Pakand, so I can take on players that don't go defensive?"

Bernard nods, "We can totally do that, and bat to match their fielding style, so we really get the most out of our Inning"

The team cheers

"Okay, lets get started!"

OOC: I would do more but uhhh busy and tired sorry,,

"Hello, everyone! From New Larxia, Larxia, we at Santo-Dominian Cable-Satellite Network Channel 3 bring you live coverage of the 1st T20 World Cup! Our coverage of the 1st T20 World Cup is brought to you by our generous sponsor, Complete Groceries Market! It's the upscale multinational supermarket chain that helps you lie to yourself! I, the absurdly untalented teleprompter fan that is Approctoflecticus Blubberman, will be your mildly frustrating host for the entire duration for the 1st T20 World Cup."

"And let's go over the results of Match Day 2! We've been informed that our Santo-Dominian team has very unfortunately lost to the team from United Adaikes. Meanwhile, our Larxian hosts have continued their small winning streak by vanquishing the team from Denieria! So, to recap in Group A, Larxia is currently undefeated with two wins, while Santos-Dominius and United Adaikes each have one win and one loss. Denieria is in a bad position: they have two losses and no wins at the moment."

"Moving onto Group B! Cambria continues its very strong and formidable performance, winning a match against Blue Bubble and securing a coveted position in the Super Eight! Meanwhile, nowhere land Hertfordshire & Jammbo has won a victory against Teralyon, thus eliminating them and ending their T20 World Cup journey this year! So basically, Cambria will be advancing further in the Cup, while the fate of Hertfordshire & Jammbo, as well as Blue Bubble, remain uncertain for now."

"And now, time for the results from Group C! In one of the matches, former Auran hegemon Saint Mark has won against the team from fellow neighbour Giovanniland. The Giovannilandians are now unfortunately eliminated from the Cup. And in the other match, Fhaengshia from Andolia has triumphed against the probably drugged team from Dilber! Fhaengshia will now advance to the Super Eight as it has secured a slot!"

"Finally, Group D! In one of the matches, sporty Nieubasria continues to show that they're not just spectacularly good at only football! The Nieubasrians have won against the team from war-torn Zoran, scoring them a position in the Super Eight and giving them the ability to advance further in the Cup! Meanwhile, the team from pacifist Fujai has trampled over their counterparts from militant country-equivalent-of-the-minesweeper-game Dalimbar! The Dalimbari are now eliminated from the Cup and will have to spectate rather than play from now on."

"And here we have it - the results for Match Day 2! Some countries are delivering consistently strong performances, while others have a more mixed record. Some have been eliminated from the competition, but most still have a chance to beat their opponents and advance further. The winners will have to stay in prime condition, while the losers will have to work hard to recover and win! I'm Approctoflecticus Blubberman, and this was Match Day 2 of the 1st T20 World Cup. Stay tuned to SDCSN Channel 3 for direct and live coverage of the Cup as well as unfathomably annoying sponsorships, and see you on Match Day 2! Goodbye!"

PUBLIC BULLETTIN RE: VOLUNTARY HEALTH INSURANCE ENROLLMENT DEADLINE

The Hierminister for State of Health and Wellness would like to kindly remind all residents that the deadline to voluntarily enroll in a 'short-term' health insurance plan is tonight, May 14th, at 11:59pm (IAT-4). Every subject and resident must enroll with one of the insurance providers listed here before that deadline to avoid the Assignment Fee, which in some cases can cost you up to 20% more than the voluntary premiums.

Each year, approximately 650,000 Basrians are charged over 157฿ million extra through the Assignment Fee. This is avoidable.

In extreme cases, the Hierministry is able to help some individuals overturn the Assignment Fee but this requires a significant burden of proof that you have been incapacitated since the 1421 Voluntary Enrollment Period began in February. The Hierministry will not advocate for exceptions for any others who do not meet those criteria. Do not rely on the possibility of overturning the Fee, and enroll today with a registered health insurance provider.

The Hierministry warns all subjects that there are no private companies or individuals that are able to appeal the Assignment Fee.
Do not provide payment or your personal information to any entity which claims to be able to do so, it is a scam.

While the rest of the team had been planning on how to defeat Blue Bubble/Glenpavia and secure qualification to the Super 8, Reimu Hadjieva had been working on something she claimed was a matter of great importance.

Th18Reimu.thumb.png.0407584bfb3b545d084572de852cb821.pngReimu Hadjieva: Ah, at last, it's finally complete. Looks like all that hard work finally paid off.

282670.jpg.93daa341e28f6260a612940db982ce18.jpgPatchouli Knalide: Hard work from you? That's a first.

Th18Reimu.thumb.png.0407584bfb3b545d084572de852cb821.pngReimu Hadjieva: You can't talk Patchy.

282670.jpg.93daa341e28f6260a612940db982ce18.jpgPatchouli Knalide: Yeah, I know...

1161978736_Eggp(1).png.f1fa789393bfc1499275823be5a6f027.pngRobert Cherganski: So anyway, what is it?

Th18Reimu.thumb.png.0407584bfb3b545d084572de852cb821.pngReimu Hadjieva: It's a makeshift version of the Hadjieva Shrine! Now I can collect shrine donations here in Larxia during the T20 World Cup!

Th18Reimu.thumb.png.0407584bfb3b545d084572de852cb821.pngReimu Hadjieva: No one visits the shrine back home, so I brought the shrine to them. Genius, huh?

430085050_download(22).jpg.5afa0111371d09abdec3f6630316e7d6.jpgRago Niedra: Clearly the confidence paid off, we crushed them.

maxie.png.8b9c9439400421eec0da83db27df9e96.pngMaxie Mazurenko: Yes, we did crush them, but we also lost 9 wickets. We need to make sure we work on not being dismissed. Twice now we have finished our innings with just 1 wicket to spare.

913207207_richard-hammond(1).jpg.2b5c19b73fa7c53d915816f6522b4706.jpgRichard Hammond: Maxie is right, we might be excellent at batting and fielding, but we need to improve that aspect of our play if we want to make it to the final stage.

Eirin1.png.909fcde9f78d1214188721a341353740.pngEirin Yaneva: Then that is what we shall focus on.

497456238_maxresdefault(10).jpg.e72d91346eb55c8cbe608c88bd24fadb.jpgLisa Lazarenko: Not only that, but talent isn't the only thing we have at our disposal.

Th18Reimu.thumb.png.0407584bfb3b545d084572de852cb821.pngReimu Hadjieva: Very true, we have some of the greatest minds in the entire tournament. Maxie, Patchouli, Lisa, Dynamis, the list carries on. Also, the offertory box is just over there.

Derekp.png.66c72d6fd678b773724fb5a6898efe8d.pngDerek Sokolov: With our individual and team talent, and the brilliant minds at our disposal, we have both the skill and the tactics to advance past our opposition, no matter who they are.

Derekp.png.66c72d6fd678b773724fb5a6898efe8d.pngDerek Sokolov: Well I took your declaration a couple of days ago to heart.

fe86a7681dd06c0583650af5bccc56ed.png.c8679c3eec863674bca4a068756bbe46.pngDynamis Dudka: Glad to know that you see sense now.

497456238_maxresdefault(10).jpg.e72d91346eb55c8cbe608c88bd24fadb.jpgLisa Lazarenko: Sense? You have got to be kidding me.

913207207_richard-hammond(1).jpg.2b5c19b73fa7c53d915816f6522b4706.jpgRichard Hammond: I heard a couple of Blue Runners' players talking about how they didn't believe we were planning for the match.

497456238_maxresdefault(10).jpg.e72d91346eb55c8cbe608c88bd24fadb.jpgLisa Lazarenko: That's a big mistake. Perhaps they will fall victim to their own underestimation of the opponent, in this case us, again.

Some kind of argument over who has the creepiest look has broken out. Faust argues the case for Damian, who is not part of HNDK. This came out of absolutely nowhere. Stranger things have happened.

Eirin1.png.909fcde9f78d1214188721a341353740.pngEirin Yaneva: That's what we plan to do. Also remember, this team is called the Hertfordia Shrine Maidens for the third match in accordance with the T20 team name policy.

Before an argument over beliefs could break out, Prime Minister Clarkov broke out a megaphone and put a halt to it. After departing in the Ecnalubma with Jeremy Clarkson and James May, the members of Hertfordia Shrine Maidens themselves departed for the hotel (ranch) to train further for the big match ahead. The match that would decide their fate in the T20 World Cup.

"Hello, everyone! From New Larxia, Larxia, we at Santo-Dominian Cable-Satellite Network Channel 3 bring you live coverage of the 1st T20 World Cup! Our coverage of the 1st T20 World Cup is brought to you by our generous sponsor, the video conferencing platform Miserable Tech! It's the leading cause of stress-related and anger-related deaths for IT departments, students, politicians and businesspeople alike! I, Approctoflecticus Blubberman, the 87th most popular Santo-Dominian sports television personality with an unfathomably terrible sense of humour, will be your mildly unhinged host for the entire duration for the 1st T20 World Cup."

"And let's go over the results of Match Day 3! We've been informed that our Santo-Dominian team has lost the match to the team from hosting country Larxia! This means that our home country Santos-Dominius is now sadly eliminated from contention in the Super Eight. Meanwhile, United Adaikes has scored a victory against the team from Denieria, which has been badly defeated thrice in a row! Denieria is therefore also eliminated from contention in the Super Eight. So, to recap, Larxia and United Adaikes will advance to the Super Eight, while our Santos-Dominius as well as Denieria have reached the end of our T20 World Cup journeys this year."

"Moving onto Group B! Cambria is still going exceptionally strong, and has won its match against the cricket players from Teralyon! This means that Teralyon will not be able to advance to the Super Eight. In the other match, literal no-man's-land Hertfordshire & Jammbo has won against Auran neighbour Blue Bubble. With this loss, Blue Bubble is eliminated from contention in the Super Eight. So, to recap, Cambria and Hertfordia will be advancing to the Super Eight from Group B, while Teralyon and Blue Bubble are now consigned to the spectator's stands."

"Let's check the results for Group C! In one of the matches, former colonial empire Saint Mark proves its might once again by winning against the team from Fhaengshia. However, unlike previous matches, Fhaengshia is not eliminated. In the other match, Auran neighbour Giovanniland faces off against drug heaven Dilber, and wins! However, this victory is not enough to save Giovanniland, as it and Dilber are both eliminated from contention in the Super Eight. Saint Mark and Fhaengshia, on the other hand, are both advancing to the Super Eight."

"And now, finally, we get to Group D! In one of the matches, war-torn museum of rubble Zoran triumphs over pacifist Fujai! In the other match, sporty Nieubasria delivers an excellent performance and wins against literal armoury Dalimbar! Following these matches, historical enemies Fujai and Dalimbar are both eliminated from contention in the Super Eight, while Nieubasria and Zoran are advancing to the Super Eight! I've just been informed that the Santo-Dominian Cricket Association has directed all of its members and fans to cheer on the Nieubasrian team, whose yellow uniforms bear a resemblance to that of the team from Santos-Dominius, for the rest of the Cup!"

"And there we have it - the results of Match Day 3! Seeing as the Santo-Dominian team is defeated, I can now pack my bags and fly back to Friberne while leaving the camera crew behind! From now on, I will be covering this Cup in the SDCSN Channel 3 studios back in Santos-Dominius, and the coverage and quality will both decrease, given the fact that we will probably have our team's funding cut for the remaining duration of this Cup. That is, if the bosses will even lend us the studios and let us cover this at all. I'm Approctoflecticus Blubberman, and this was Match Day 3 of the 1st T20 World Cup. Stay tuned to SDCSN Channel 3 for indirect and choppy coverage of the Cup as well as utterly frustrating sponsorships, and see you whenever the bosses let us cover this Cup again! Goodbye!"

Tristan and Hunter balanced four pints each as they made their way to where the team was seated. In Saint Mark cricket, it was the traditional task of the youngest player to serve the others during any celebration. With birthdays on the same day, it was their luck to always have help from the other. The coach had declared they'd have their after match meeting in The Golden Dragon to celebrate making it to the Super 8. As they were seated, Coach Waterman stood to face the happy cohort.

"Fantastic! Of course my first praise has to go to Czarneki on his century ... bravo! Maybe you should have shoulder surgery every year! It wasn't all Czarneki, though. This is the most aggressive I've seen this team all season! Evard, that cow-corner hoick was splendid! Katie ... nice back-of-point slice! Tristan, we should start calling you the Road-Runner! Even our bowling was more aggressive. Your Doosra really caught the batsman off guard, Warren! This is where we want to be at this point in the tournament ... on the upswing. It'll get tougher from here, of course, but as long as we stay focused, I have no doubt we can go all the way."

Raising his glass, he continued. "A toast to our win and to advancing to the Super 8!"

The team cheered as they too raised their pints.

Vanessa Desniowynsk: "Hey there viewers from Giovanniland, the West Pacific and Aura! Welcome to another episode of our Cricket Report, and today we will talk about the Giovannilandian game against the Dilberian team. Although we were already eliminated from the next stage at this point, it's still nice to not come back home with nothing! What I mean is that we won against our Auran neighbors in Dilber, and in this report we will tell you about how this game went, as well as the future of the T20 World Cup. Anyways, despite our loss against Saint Mark on the previous game, there were no changes in the lineup, meaning that the same eleven players also played against Dilber. Unlike our two previous games, this time our opponents fielded first. The Dilberian team managed to score a total of 122 points in 20 overs while losing only 6 wickets, a fair amount but not enough to beat our team. Then, after their overs ended, the Giovannilandiana Equipa took the offensive and managed to outdo Dilber in just 15 and 5/6 overs, scoring 125 points at that time. We did lose two more wickets than our opponents, but in the end our score was higher and we won the match."

Carlos Nakamura-Edristyn: "With the win in the match that my colleague Vanessa just described, Giovanniland now sits in third place in Group C, as the group stage ends and the top two nations of each group advance to the Super Eight. In the other match of Group C, our Auran neighbors in Saint Mark were able to defeat the Andolian nation of Fhaengshia, although the latter still qualified in second place as they had two wins in the previous matches. Meanwhile, Dilber—who lost their last match to us—was not able to achieve the slight chance they had of qualifying and is now at the bottom of Group C. The final scores in our group were Saint Mark with five points, Fhaengshia with four, Giovanniland with two, and Dilber with one. Therefore, even though our team didn't qualify, it also didn't completely fail since it was able to win one match. This was predicted by many around the world since cricket is not a popular sport in Giovanniland, but we at the Cricket Report are happy that our country showed up and had some fun playing. Going forward, it's expected that our special reports about the T20 World Cup will not be produced as often as before, given our elimination. But if all goes well, we will do a recap of all Super Eight games, and then of the semifinals, 3rd place match and the grand final. For now, we in Giovanniland cheer for the two Auran nations left in the tournament, Zoran and Saint Mark! Anyways, tomorrow we'll resume to our regularly scheduled programming of covering recent events in various sports around Giovanniland, but stay tuned for the special reports on the later stages of this cup that we will present next week. That is all for today, so goodbye!"

Following the Blues

"Welcome back viewers, to another episode of Following the Blues, where we keep you up to date with the T20 World Cup, and give you a behind the scenes of the Dressing Room."

"Larxia faced Santos-Dominius in the last match of the Group Stage. A win was very important for both the teams, and to our pleasure, Larxia managed to defeat Santos-Dominius in the match by 22 runs, securing a first-place finish in the Group stages."

Larxia v/s Santos Dominius

Kohli lost the toss against the Santo-Dominiun Captain. Santos-Dominius decided that they wanted to bowl first. On being asked how he felt about batting first, Kohli answered, "I am not very happy. I had hoped to bowl first, and maybe strike some wickets in the first 10 overs. But we can manage, If atleast 1 batsman manages to stay in the middle for more than 10 overs, we can post a respectable total."

The match started with Kohli and de Villiers in the middle. It was determined by the team that the in-form Rohit Sharma would be sent a little later on in the game. Kohli and de Villiers started the game with a respectable pace, scoring a total of 48 runs in 6 overs. Kohli was the first to get out, scoring 37 runs, making the score 67 in 8 overs. Sharma came down to the middle. Sharma made his presence felt as soon as he entered the ground. Sharma and de Villiers put on a respectable partnership of 52 runs, when de Villiers got out, scoring 49 runs, making the score 119/2 in 15 overs. Sharma held his ground as the wickets kept flowing from the other end. At one point the score was 149/9 in 18.2 overs. Sharma tried to keep the strike in the last two overs. He went on a rampage, scoring 26 runs in only 7 balls. He made a mistake, and lost his wicket, caught at the boundary, making it 175/10 in 19.4 overs. Most of the batsmen in the middle managed to contribute only 17 runs to the total. Sharma played another important inning, as he scored 69 runs.

There was a 20 minute break between the innings. The supporters were going to different in-stadium kiosks, to buy food, merchandise and memorabilia.

The next inning started as two Santo-Dominiun batsmen took to the middle. They were very clearly motivated for the win, but sometimes, motivation comes with an underlying stress to perform. They started really well, scoring 52 runs in 6 overs, but losing 2 wickets in the process. The bowlers were dominating, as they produced figures of 3-21(Bumrah), 1-18(Boult), 1-28(Jadeja). Surprisingly, Sharma also bowled 2 overs, in which he managed to also claim a wicket, registering figures of 1-16. The bowlers and fielders did really well in restricting the Santo-Dominiuns to a score of 153/6 in 20 overs, which was not enough to beat Larxia.

The losing captain was interviewed, followed by the winning captain. Rohit Sharma, yet again claimed the Man-of-match award, for his 69-run inning, and his unusual wicket today. He was given a little trophy and a cheque for 20,000 dollars.

Larxia won the match by 22 runs, securing first place in Group A, and going ahead to the Super 8 Group A, where Larxia will be pitted against Hertfordia, Saint Mark and Zoran.

Elections and Dissolving Hier

Unlike many other nations there are no statutory “terms” or “sessions” for Hier Delegates and once sitting the Hier may continue to sit indefinitely, though by practice this has become generally a maximum of 4-5 years. When there is a Hier, it may only be ended three ways:

  • dissolved by order of the Prince,
  • dissolved by order of the Estates-Minister of Hier, or
  • by the College Delegates in Guildhall appointing a Conveyor of the Colleges’ Remembrances (“Conveyancer”).

The Conveyancer, traditionally the College Delegate for the Knightly Order of the Abandoned Wreath, is officially tasked with transmitting a written statement of the Colleges outlining the major business undertaken by the Hier in this sitting to Preifat.

Upon the appointment of a Conveyancer -though more specifically the receipt of their Remembrances by the Preifat- the Hier is dissolved, Riding Delegates are dismissed, and the sitting Estates-Minister of Hier is removed.

The Conveyancer is then charged by the Prince to deliver the statement to Dean of the now-dissolved Hier. The Conveyancer also brings a sealed letter from the Prince appointing the previous Dean as the Prince’s Charterer of the Means. The now Charterer, once in receipt of the Rememberances may at any time thereafter make a petition to the Prince to call another Hier and issue writs of election for Riding Delegates. This petition is approved by the Esquire-General in accordance with the Restoration Pact.

The 'Our Hier' Learning Series is jointly produced by the Hierminister of the Business and the Hier Research Services for the purpose of public education. Learn more about this program at ourhier.gov.nb.

Derek Sokolov - The doctor will see you now. That's all we really have to say for the first Hertfordian cricket player to achieve a century. The good doctor has cemented his place both in the medical field and on the cricket field, having almost singlehandedly decimated the Blue Runners run total of 130 all out. We thought surgeons were healers, not hurters. Surgical knife, A.S.A.P.!

Faust Ḩarełeudeiem - It wouldn't be right unless the captain had a decent go at the Blue Runners. The so-called 'Fist of the Pendulum Clock' certainly wasn't actually messing with time and space. That is an absurd assumption to make. But it felt like he was somehow.

Rago Niedra - You can't keep the Black Sun down. Rago likely intended to earn much more runs than he did, but as you might have guessed already Derek decided that he would forcefully place Blue Bubble/Glenpavia on the operating table. Still, at least Rago was not dismissed.

Lisa Lazarenko: They say the most intelligent people are the ones that end up making the most simple mistakes. This person is no different, for most of what this 4 year old ultra-prodigy tries ends up going wrong because of one seemingly insignificant mishap. This time though, the underwhelming performance was not due to her own miscalculations, but rather due to a certain surgeon.

Dynamis Dudka: It seems those people who hold the energy producing spinning tops they call 'Beyblades' are really in it today. Dynamis managed to slot in a couple of runs near the end of the match. He has consistently been a presence on the scoresheet and while he has never really stood out, at least he has the consistency. Looks like the will of the heavens has guided this shrine guardian well.

What can we say except 'that went well'? This game was crucial to our survival in the competition, and we're very glad to say that we put in our best performance yet. Rising to the occasion when it counts is a key skill to have in any sport and cricket is no exception. Even better that Derek earned a century in the process. Think of it this way, this was such an encouraging victory that we really are struggling to give a substantial report on it, so we'll go into something called Spiral Force. The deputy reporter was returning from the shop when he heard some of the players talking about something called Twisted Tempo. It was invented by Ziggurat as an energy source to power this Spiral Force. Spiral Force was an attempt at creating an energy source that had all the benefits of renewable energy with none of the drawbacks. He tried condensing it into raw energy before he was luckily stopped. Scientists back home have figured out that if all the pent up energy that the by-then-collapsing Spiral Core (a reactor that collects and stores the Spiral Force) would rend miles upon miles of land surrounding the Hades City base where it was located and even sent a colossal shockwave across the entirety of the world. Honestly, two of us find that very hard to believe. The other is the editor Damian. Perhaps it is not a coincidence that he too has one of these former energy sources, which are absurdly rare due to the scientific nature of their creation. His one is called Hades Kerbecs BD145DS. Naturally at this point we have to give you all the results while taking jabs at the other nations. We just feel like it.

May 14, 1421 5:45 PM IAT; right after the Denieria captain was interviewed

"We're hoping Larxia would win the next game," Albrekktson replied while smiling, when asked about the future of the Steelbats, "we're not loving our chances if we are going to have a three-team tie. Heck, we made sure to win because we don't like tying with others."

10:00 PM IAT

"We might have already played some games," Coach Laud replied over the phone, when asked about their team's chances in the Super Eight, "but the competition starts at this stage. Top 2 teams from each groups, and for this group, we got 3 Polarii teams. We'll surely give everyone a run for their money in the next days."

The bus ride back to the hotel was quiet. It was not the same quiet of dejection that had accompanied them into the locker room, however, but now one of determination.

H&J had walloped them; in part because of their own excellent play, but also because Saint Mark hadn't played anywhere near their best.
Egleston had taken the team to task when they first left the field, excoriating them for being too sure of themselves.

Waterman had taken a different approach. He understood that the match itself had been all the censure that was required. Now they needed to be re-directed and fortified. He pointed out their errors and where they could have done better, but he also made it clear that these were easily remedied. Their skills were not the problem. The missing ingredient in this match had been concentration. The win can not be taken as granted. They are not out of this. Victory can still be theirs,  if they work for it!

Later, a three-hour strategy session had given them much to consider.

Following the Blues

"Welcome back viewers, to another episode of Following the Blues, where we keep you up to date with the T20 World Cup, and give you a behind the scenes of the Dressing Room."

"Larxia faced Zoran in their first match of the Group A of the Super 8 stage. Both the teams were looking to win and start this stage with a victory. Luckily for us, Larxia managed to beat Zoran by 52 runs. The match saw amazing overall performance by the Larxian players."

Larxia v/s Zoran

Kohli won the toss for Larxia, and chose to bat first. "The pitch looks amazing for batting. I would love to get in on the batting as soon as possible, because it might not be very helpful for the batsmen in the last 5-7 overs of the second innings."

The match started as Kohli and Sharma came down to bat. They started off the game at an astonishing pace, scoring 59 runs in the first 6 overs. They maintained this pace as they contributed 119 runs. Sharma got out at 73 runs, leaving the pitch at 119/1 in 13 overs. de Villiers came in to replace Sharma. In the next two overs, both batsmen took it comparatively easy, but de Villiers got out, contributing 8 runs to the total. The score was now 132/2 in 15 overs. Buttler came in to replace de Villiers in the middle. The next 5 overs, the most crucial in a T20 match, were utilised very well by Kohli and Buttler. They added 36 runs to the total in 4 overs, when Buttler got out, making the score 168/3 in 19 overs. Kohli retained his place at the strikers end in the last over. Kohli went on a rampage in the last over, adding 22 runs in just the last over, taking the average score of 168/3, to a above-par score of 190/3. Kohli was the highest scorer of this match, scoring 86 runs in the innings.

There was a break of 20 minutes for the players to rest. The spectators rushed to the different kiosks to be ready for the second inning.

The second inning started as two Zoranian made their way to the middle. They were motivated to project the Auran dominance on Larxia. They started really well too, as they managed a score of 53/1 in the first 6 overs. For the first time, the Larxian bowlers were looking a little lost on the field, as they reached a score of 87/1 in 10 overs. Unfortunately for the Zoranians, the batsmen started to collapse, as Bumrah bowled out the two set batsmen, registering figures of 2-29, while Rabada took the other wicket, registering figures of 1-27. The two completely new Zoranian batsmen found it really hard to continue forward with the momentum. The pitch started becoming very supportive of the bowlers as the weather shifted a little. The bowlers and the fielders did an amazing job in defending the 190 runs, as they restricted the team from Zoran to 130/3 at the end of the innings.

The losing captain was interviewed first, followed by the winning captain. The winning captain, Kohli, stayed up on the podium to receive the man-of-the-match award. He was given a little trophy and a cheque for 20,000 dollars.

The players seemed to enjoy the fact that they managed to win their first match of the Super 8 stages. They will get back to training tomorrow for their match against Hertfordia the day after. If they manage to win their game against Hertfordia, Larxia will be ensured a place in the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup, and in the other fixture if Zoran manages to best their neighbours, Saint Mark, then Larxia will be ensured as the Group A winners of the Super 8.

Tamaric University of Saint Aiaden, Saint Aiaden

"-and that is why I am proud to be here today at my alma mater to inaugurate the Aarden Biomedical Sciences building in honour of Jens Aarden, the noted researcher, philanthropist, and posthumous Fellow of the Royal Academy of Sciences. This magnificent building was made possible by a generous donation made by his estate, and may it serve as a center of learning and scientific advancement for generations to come!" Cadogan Ayers turns to face the building, a bottle of beer in hand. As per tradition, he tosses the brown glass bottle unopened towards the cornerstone, where it shatters against the dedication plaque and spills its contents about. The small crowd gathered for the dedication ceremony claps politely and Cadogan shakes the hand of the University's President.

The president takes the podium, "You are all invited to remain for refreshments which will be served presently. Thank you all for coming today." He turns to Killian, "Estates-Minister will you do us the honour of joining us for the short reception?"

"Certainly, Mr. Finlay though I am afraid I cannot stay very long - I must be back in Clarendon by this afternoon." Estates-Minister Ayers smiles at the man, ensuring the smile reaches his eyes. A waiter offers a selection of coffee, tea, or champagne to which Cadogan requests coffee with one sugar. His assistant comes forward and Cadogan informs him that they'll only stay about minutes, and to have the jet push back the timeline as necessary.

A few minutes pass as guests make their way through the crowd and making polite conversation with the Estates-Minister. As some guests begin to peel off from the event, an individual with a press pass and a voice recorder approaches unceremoniously. Cadogan's assistant intercepts them, "I am sorry but the Estates-Minister is not taking any questions today."

The reporter's eyes narrow a bit through her glasses, and she clicks a button on the device. Speaking loudly enough that nearly all the remaining guests turn to stare, she asks regardless, "Estates-Minister Ayers, do you have anything to say about the training incident in Cambria the other day? Do you believe TLI is capable of such an attack?" All the guests staring now, some impolitely gawking.

Cadogan's assistant attempts to intervene again while the Estates-Minister sets down his still-full coffee on the nearest tray. "I am sorry, but as I said the Estates-Minister will not be taking questions today. If you would like, please submit your questions to the Public Relations Department of the Estates-Ministry of The Prince's Peace." Seeing Cadogan start setting off, the assistant adds- "The Estates-Minister is very busy today and must be going. Thank you for your time."

The reporter continues despite the warning, "Sir, if its true that LTI can intervene with Cambrian military training, isn't that something the public should know about?" No response, yet she continues- "Sir! It is YOUR job to keep people safe and to know about these things, don't you have a DUTY to say something? The government has not made any real statements about this incident!"

Cadogan stops briefly and steps toward the reporter with a terrifically stern face. "The Estates-Ministry has no further information to release at this time. I am presently on my way to a Preifat meeting, now if you please excuse me, Ms...." he pauses to read her press badge, "Ms. Spence of The Monitor, I must be on my way."

Naho Sotirova - Shortly after the match with Blue Bubble/Glenpavia, Naho finally managed to locate a surprisingly striking man, an expert in the world of the occult and indeed of reporting called Kou 'Kibiki' Karapetrov. If no one heard that talk in public when even the Prime Minister was present, Karapetrov is the mentor in this relationship. She holds a perhaps unhealthy obsession with him (for better or worse), and that was the perfect motivator for this suspiciously Satanic performance.

Rago Niedra - If Naho's performance was Satanic, then Rago's certainly wasn't far behind. Then again, that's what you get when you're the leader of a tiny religion dedicated to bringing about an age of darkness or some nonsense like that. The bad news is the deity he worships is Nemesis, the God of Destruction. The good news is that it is hardly relevant even in Hertfordshire & Jammbo itself. But the Child of the Black Sun will always make himself known wherever he goes.

Ryosuke Tīrelis - If Rago is the Child of the Black Sun, then Ryosuke is the leader of the RedSuns. Or rather, he was. Actually he currently leads Project D, a racing team. The D stands for Dream. Either way, what happens when Black Sun and Red Sun both put on splendid performances? Indeed, the opponent struggles mightily against the onslaught of what seems like two stars crashing down on them. Unlike Rago, Ryosuke does not worship a destruction deity. He worships no deity.

Patrick Manev - Look who finally made his way back to the scoring sheet. The Hand of Asclepius only really came in at the last minute and managed 1 four before being bowled out. Pretty forgetful with just that singular moment at bat to look at. It could be that he was simply saving his energy for later matches, since the battle was as good as won at that point. If so, then that was a smart move. We can't help but call it a little obvious though.

Dynamis Dudka - How he managed to get on the scoresheet right on the very last bat is anyone's guess. He ended up earning the run that levelled HNDK with Saint Mark with our over total at 13.8 (13 overs + 5/6 overs), before Ryosuke ended the match. The players must have been slightly miffed at him after came so close to getting such a convenient 2, which he refrained from due to hesitation about whether he could make it back to the stumps in time. Let us guess, did the 'Will of the Heavens' call for this to happen as well?

In the name of Lake Stour, we can scarcely believe it. We weren't quite expecting that. Just when we thought HNDK couldn't top the victory over underestimation professionals Blue Bubble/Glenpavia, they go along and do this to first round Group C table toppers Saint Mark. As the scoreline blatantly showed, the Hertfordia Heathens had creamed their opposition. Even if this wasn't as large of the victory as the previous, it still stood out as a statement victory. The nation that arguably embodies aristocracy, prestige & pleasantness was sent packing by a nation that for all intents & purposes are the national equivalent of the Village People. If it didn't send shockwaves throughout the tournament we don't know what will. Perhaps a later victory in this will prove to be such a thing, in the case that this victory over the Auran outfit is not meant to be. As for Faust, his domination of the dismissal process/wickets was a show of force to the rest, a reminder that he alone is the captain of HNDK. Keep the optimism up, what hope do we have of coming out of this T20 World Cup as the winners if we don't? Back to the match, this was a show of individual performance. It is dangerous to rely purely on team play. The main strength of our nation's cricket team is the huge variety it holds. Each member has a specific bowling style, and the batting styles aren't too similar by any means. Furthermore, each player is an all-rounder, able to bat and bowl at the highest level. We wouldn't be here at the tournament otherwise. The stars in the sky will freeze over before any opponent truly figures us out. Okay that's completely unrealistic but you chaps reading this get the point, we presume. We even managed to best the Polarii sporting giant Cambria right up until their miracle 19th over comeback. With our shockingly cheerful post-match section out of the way, it is time to show all who watch this the results of Super 8 Matchday 1, which is Matchday 4 overall in the T20 World Cup. Because the roster has been cleaved in two for obvious reasons, this will have less results and therefore it will be easier for us to think of less than savoury names for the nations attending that are not us. Also, we note that apparently, the king of host nation Larxia (King Maddy IV?) has invited all sorts of politicians to watch the grand final which takes place in ~6 days time. King Mečislavs & Prime Minister Clarkov will be in attendance within the stands themselves no matter if the invitation ever reaches them, so they told us earlier today.

May 16, 1921 9:25 PM IAT; ZCA Stadium, Zancoudo; after the Basric captain was interviewed

"We had good batting," Albrekktson replied, when asked about being the last two players left before winning the game, "but, yep, we need to tone down with being risky with our runs. We'll also need to do better in the next games, especially when we're facing the Cambrians next. We're going to watch tapes of some of their games and see what we can get and capitalize with our practice tomorrow and in the game."
