Tim Confirmed As Eastern Pacific Police Service Commissioner

Tim looking rather dapper.

Minister Of Immigration Tim has a new hat to wear in The East Pacific, Commissioner. Tim, the delegate's nominee for the position, was confirmed by the Magisterium as the newest Commissioner of the Eastern Pacific Police Service succeeding God-Emperor after his election to Provost prevented him from continuing to serve in the post. Tim was confirmed by the Magisterium unanimously.

Magisterium Record

When the Magisterium wasn't busy confirming Tim's nomination, there was plenty else it was doing. Aside from admitting two more members, Macordie and Severisen, the Magisterium passed a Criminal Code by unanimous consent and in a record amount of time. The vote closed five days early due to all the eligible Magisters casting their vote. One of the provisions of the Criminal Code was the election of a foreperson to maintain it, and the Magisterium elected Viceroy Aelitia as its first foreperson. The Magisterium also passed an amendment of the Concordat regarding receiving titles of nobility from a foreign government, unconstitutional under the current version of the Concordat, and the region only waits for a referendum to be held by Viceroy Aelitia in order to determine the constitutionality of receiving titles of nobility. Finally, the Magisterium unanimously passed the Education Reform Act, which largely turned back the changes of the Second Education Act.

The newest Minister Of Culture And Education, British Grand Pacific

The first Minister Of Culture And Education, Vaculatestar, certainly got the Ministry moving. He established the inaugural People's Choice Awards, announced the nominees, and the votes were being collected. He also establish a movie night and a Cards Against Humanity night. However, before the People's Choice Award winners were announced or the first movie was watched, Vac shook up the ministry by suddenly resigned his post. Delegate Ramaeus appointed University Of The East Pacific Chancellor British Grand Pacific to succeed him, and he is expanding on the wildly successful CAH night by accepting submissions for a TEP Expansion Pack. However, it remains to be seen whether or not citizens of the region will ever be able to accept their People's Choice Awards or mock any B movies in Mystery Science Theater 3000esque style.

@Bhang thanks for reading!

@NewPeople TEP is doing well. We're recovering from the summer slump but it wasn't nearly as bad as it has been in years past. We actually had one of those pirates (Dali) become a citizen a few weeks ago! We have been getting a fair number of new citizens involved, which is always exciting and EPSA detagged some 100+ regions last week. Exciting times in TEP :)

The Cowbell Act
Article F, Section 8 Amendment Referendum

The Cowbell Act
4more_cowbell_grande.jpg?v=1346983943

The Magisterium has found that The East Pacific needs moar more cowbell! In order to address this issue, Magister Tim drafted the Cowbell Act. Provisions of the act require all potential or current public officials to get more cowbell or be entered into a public registry of officials who lack cowbell. At the time of publication, the vote is currently 5-3 in favor of the act with 2/3s of the Magisterium reporting and two days of voting remaining. The non-binding nature of the resolution notwithstanding, eat your heart out The Rejected Realms Times!

Article F, Section 8 Amendment Referendum

In response to an amendment passed by the Magisterium, reported upon in the previous update, Viceroy Aelitia opened a referendum on the amendment. The referendum is currently being approved unanimously by the fourteen citizens who have lodged a vote, the lone abstention coming from the amendments author, Magister Tano. With the vote closing in less than a day, tomorrow may be the first day a citizen of The East Pacific may accept a title of nobility from a foreign government.

When I was Prime Minister of The North Pacific (this is OOC), I tried to craft a law requiring all legislation to include the word "fun" somewhere in it. Sadly, it never got very far because the Speaker was an insufferable sourpuss. Also I had never read the constitution so I didn't know how laws worked there. We had a good administration.
