For another year, the FRF is hosting Ryxtylopia's 2 premiere football (or soccer) competitions, the Campionaito Ryxtylopiano di Futibol Série A and the Copa di Ryxtylopia. The first one recently going through a format change last year. As teams and fans from all around Ryxtylopia prepare for this season, it is important to know, only time and the skill of the player's and coaches will let us know who will be the champions! SERÍE A - The Ryxtylopian First Division The Ryxtylopian Seríe A is considered the most important football competition in Ryxtylopia, with the competition being almost a hundred years old, it has gone through many format changes throught the years, however it remains as the ultimate goal for football clubs in Ryxtylopia to achieve. The competition has 22 teams, with each one playing against the other teams home and away once, this means in total the league is spread across 42 matchdays, with victories granting 3 points, draws 1, and losses 0. The top-placing team by the end of the competition is crowned champions of Ryxtylopia, while on the other side of the table, the bottom 4 teams get relegated to Seríe B, with the top 4 teams from Seríe B getting promoted for next year's competition. In case of ties, the criteria of Goal Difference is taken into account to break ties, in case two teams are tied both in points and GD, Goals For is the next Criteria taken for breaking ties, in the case both teams had the same GD and GF then the FRF would get involved to break the tie, the most likely outcome being an extra match to break the tie. Matches happen between Saturdays and Sundays. COPA DI RYXTYLOPIA - The Ryxtylopian Cup The Copa di Ryxtylopia is considered the second most important football competition in Ryxtylopia, being a direct knockout competition featuring all the 22 Seríe A teams, all the 22 Seríe B teams and 20 out of the 48 Seríe C teams, with 64 teams in total. The competition is split into 6 phases, a first stage (Round of 64), a second stage (Round of 32), a Round of 16, the Quarterfinals, the Semifinals and the Final. All teams play eachother home and away once, with teams that had a better finish in their divisions getting to play their home game last, with teams worst placement playing home first. If a tie happens in the aggregate matches go straight to penalties. The team draws may place teams from different divisions against eachother, with Seríe A teams being able to play Seríe B teams, and Seríe B teams being able to play against Seríe C teams and Seríe C teams being able to play against those from Seríe A. Matches may happen between Wednesdays and Fridays, with the exception of the Semifinals and the Final, played on a Sunday. The Teams in the 1425-26 Seríe A season 18 from last season teams will participate in this season plus the 4 promoted sides from the last Seríe B season. Reigning champions Mytapixas seek to keep their title with their currently start-studded squad featuring young striker Ezcaiel Barvas, whom was a key figure in their latest title. Other sides like Rio Priava and Qixas prepare to once again try to land at the top, Mid-Table teams from last season push to improve their attacks or defense and the teams that escaped relegation hope for a better season. The teams are preparing, players training and the fans cheering. Who will lift a trophy this season? Only time will tell! Some champions the last seasons, others relegated, it doesn't matter, a lot can change in one season and this will be another interesting tournament to watch! Will defending champions Tsalapaní achieve another victory, this time maybe not through penalties? Will any other team be able to challange them? League "A" - National 1424 Ryxtylopia's football (or soccer) league is about to commence, with 20 teams participating all with hopes of winning the trophy this year! 1424 won't see any major changes in format, but to the people who don't know how the Ryxtylopian league works we'll briefley explain: Its separated into two stages, a regular league stage and a knockout stage, the best 8 teams make it to the knockouts while the worst 2 teams get relegated to the second divison - games (for the sake of time) happen every 2 days, starting Sunday 21st 1424 5:00-20:00 hrs. (12:00-20:00 hrs on Saturdays and Sundays) Ryxenia time. The games (to maintain the fairness of the tournament) are carried out in two legs, meaning in total each team will play 42 games.
