  1. He has also (1) issued a dispatch of similar content, and (2) changed the Welcome TG to the following: THIS REGION IS NOW UNDER MILITARY OCCUPATION. ALL MEMBERS OF THE RESISTANCE WILL BE SHOT OR DEPORTED. Don't want to be recognized as a member of the resistance? You have two hours to follow these steps before you're banned. 1. Join the WORLD ASSEMBLY. You will need to provide an email in your Settings. 2. Click on the name of the delegate, United RussoAsia, scroll down to the bottom, and hit the "endorse" button. That's all you gotta do. Welcome to NationStates! - DEN
  2. Hello, Moro, and welcome to our regional forums! I'm sure you'll enjoy it here! P.S. Are you really Fluffy?
  3. My most sincere condolences for your mother, Eli.
  4. PD, thank you for selecting me, I'm deeply honored. My fellow TWPans, I'd like you to know that I'll be doing everything I can for the best of our region. If at any time you deem something to be useful, important or appropriate for me to take under consideration, please do not hesitate to contact me; I'll be open to each and everyone of you — and for everything. It's also great to see esteemed friends being fellow DA's from now on — and I promise to do my best in maintaining meaningful ways of proving myself useful in your endeavors, too. Once again, thank you — and let the exciting DA journey begin!
  5. Nox, is it only my impression that your post-count is stuck at 666, regardless whether you keep posting?
  6. And this is why I was missing your point: I'd been under the impression that they wouldn't be exact duplicates because Internal Affairs (again, in my view) is intended to deal with relationships among members, and lawmaking. However, after having seen what Ele wrote a while ago, I now know that I've been mistaken and you're right. Still, my proposal is to separate the task of helping newer members from the task of running the internal workings of the whole region and the like.
  7. My personal view is that my assigning these tasks to a specific DA we help successful integration of new nations, so that they won't leave as soon as they start getting flooded with recruiTG's, and their transition to a higher level of participation in the RMB and off-site.
  8. I wholeheartedly support this proposal, because it makes perfect sense and is aligned with my own approach for the retention-participation-recruitment triplette. As far as the name is concerned, it could also be 'Game Help Ministry' imho. All in all, kudos Fujai!
  9. I sent my own application via a message to PD; hopefully he'll have a chance to check it out soon.
  10. Drachmaland wants to join The Union of the West Pacific, and its body, The Voice.
  11. Obviously it commemorates their victory in the war against good taste.
  12. I'm including the whole sequence, to help readers follow my path of thinking: I wasn't expressing my own view on the subject; I just took it (from the "valid points" comment) that there was an agreement between the two of you regarding the position, so what I said was "ok, if you just want the duties without the extra layer, then do this". I'm just elaborating why I wrote this, as asked by Ele. Most probably it's meaningless now anyhow to explain my own position on the matter. For the time being I'm watching the latest developments.
  13. If a Vice-Delegate position is intended only for stuff done during justified delegate absence, and most people wouldn't want an extra layer added in leadership because it makes them feel that the only practical outcome is that they're further distanced from the Delegate, then I propose that we just nominate one Guardian position to be a Senior Guardian (in a "first among equals" sense) appointed by the Delegate and assuming said tasks.
  14. I don't get it why so many have focused on Vlagh. Having an efficient & productive modus operandi for the region —whatever its specific type, or its particular workings— is BY FAR more important imho.
  15. You do understand that such an endeavor would require plugging all their orifices, no? Or maybe this is exactly the point here?
  16. One thing that one specific Feeder does is that their WAD sends a TG to any nation leaving their region, in which they attempt to make you reverse your decision, by also opening a communication channel for feedback on anything that might have made you leave (or made you not care about leaving them), regardless whether you wish to consider coming back or not. This "sad to see you leave" TG is customized differently for WA and non-WA nations. I personally regard this as one of the smartest policies in NS. In the aforementioned Feeder again, as soon as a nation gets into the WA, it immediately receives a TG with all available options they now have for gameplay within the region (NS & offsite alike). There is also a similar TG sent to you as soon as you resign from WA, with options (and a plea for your reapplying to WA). Said Feeder also sends Awareness TG's for their offsite. My opinion is that this Feeder maintains by far the best all-around policy for boosting nations' retention and participation. Another Feeder uses also the same approach (i.e. to TG a nation as soon as it joins WA), but with a much inferior (in the non-inspiring sense) way. Another, different, Feeder sends TG's for activities that require WA membership even to nations that are not currently in the WA, probably in hopes to boost WA-membership in their region (and associated capabilities). One Feeder sends their Welcome TG to nations regardless whether they have already received it before, which is neat because it provides the latest and most current info. Some UCR's systematically and methodically follow-up their welcome TG with TG's from the WAD or Officials, presenting ways for a nation to get involved and inviting participation. This tactics is quite effective and productive. NB: Since at least one UCR keeps recruiting based on the 28-day landmark of a nation's age, a very smart tactics imho would be to send two TG's calling for regional activities or other similar stuff on the 27th and on the 29th day of age, so that the sneaky recruiTG gets drown and neutralized. I believe some useful extra functionalities can be gotten via api. The important thing is that the WAD can be sending Departmental TG's on behalf of the respective Departments' Heads, so that no stamps are needed. At least two Feeders follow this approach.
  17. The current welcome telegram (to the best of my knowledge, i.e. from 12 days ago) is the following: My comments and/or proposals: Typo: Apprentices The intro is directed only to nations founded in TWP, but the nations receiving it are also the ones that move over to TWP. Maybe this is not that important now, but it'll surely become important when we'll become active in recruiting nations. The TG layout looks cluttered (and thus confusing for a newbie), too oldie (I'm not saying this in a positive way), and entirely identical to the rest of the heap of TG's this person will be receiving those first hours. The whole TG concept is upside-down: We first tell them what we want from them (we ask them to join the forum, we ask them to join WA and give endorsements, we flood them with titles and ranks), and we then tell them what might most probably be most important to them (i.e. where to find info about what NS is and how to play) — and, even when we point them to there, we add that this info may be a bit "outdated". (If it hasn't been taken care of yet) Hariko needs to be added in the Guardians, references to Reçueçn will have to go, endo caps will have to be updated. My proposal regarding the Welcome TG layout is: thematic arrangement with a new-nation's priorities in mind and with intense use of spoiler tags, so that each receiver sees at first a piece of interesting, concise material that grabs their attention, and afterwards they follow (in a flowchart-like approach) the path they desire or feel they need at the time, while they select to view/read only the stuff they wish to further explore. I offer myself (energy+time), as soon as that TWP government thing gets finalized, to contribute in the following: Designing the layout and writing the texts. Creating the respective dispatches and forum threads that will be needed for landing places from links within the TG.
  18. If you ever decide to move on from Foreign Affairs, then you should also consider a career in hip-hop.
