It's stupid to think that banning AR 15s could have prevented the recent school shooting.
It's stupid to not ban AR 15s, no one can make a coherent argument for a private citizen to own one. But remember it's just symbolism, there are 300,000,000 guns in the USA.
It's ridiculous that the FBI didn't do something about the shooter.
I bet they get 10k of those warnings a month, humans-mistakes are pretty common.
I've never owned a gun legally myself, 35 years ago I illegally owned an Uzi machine pistol with a fully automatic trigger mechanism. I lived in Illinois at the time so they were illegal there. I traded it for a 10 speed bicycle, once I sawed a limb off a sapling with a magazine I couldn't figure out why I'd want to do that again.
Very little if any property crime in my area, everyone owns a gun (except me). You walk in someone's back yard without a compelling reason you're putting your personal safety at risk. More likely from their dog, I doubt Mr and Mrs Average could hit a Suburban with their Glock 17 from further than 10-15 feet. Ricochets on the other hand could be a problem. There is a reason the AT+T guy and the Charter guy where those neon vests and it isn't traffic. It's to make sure Mr/Mrs Suburbia don't light them up.
Cnn is a fucking joke, so is Fox. Chris Cuomo should be flayed, while tied to Shawn Hannity, being flayed at the same time.
Not really but surely neither one is as stupid as the characters they portray on their nightly BS, if they are God help us all.
It's too bad that outright lies and propaganda is peddled as news, Reality TV for ratings rather than facts is all it is.

After mis-thinking this and trying some things, unless someone has another idea that fits the forum mechanics, your options are:
 
1.  The voting forum must have all access removed from non-citizens (completely hidden to all but citizens) to prevent them from being able to vote in polls in that particular forum. (for any forum in which you want to restrict poll access)
2. Remove permission from non-citizens for poll voting. This will effect non-citizens globally, prohibiting voting everywhere on the forum. (This permission is by usergroup, not by forum, so it's a forum-wide permission)
3. Scrap poll voting for 'voice voting'. This is always the most secure voting method on any forum. 
 
I'd avoid option 2. 
This is why we 'voice vote' in Equilism (same forum software).

I don't disagree, but I have yet to find the setting.
 
for now I've disallowed the member mask to create or vote in polls, let's see what all that breaks.

Yes Don I did see the trauma that unfolded with your Father's sudden passing and silently wished you and your family the best as they dealt with the emotional flood all that entails.
Westy I had heard via the grapevine of old NS players that you too were enduring/living that end of life experience with your father.
 
Like you all I have lived that lately, in 2014 with my father and 2015 with my mother, it is the emotional gamut from pride in lives well done to anguish that you never get to discuss the mundane happenings of day to day life with those that gave that wonderful gift to you.
Lessons learned, love multiplied and passed on. I for one feel lucky to have been the recipient of their wisdom and affection.
Life is good, life is sad sometimes, I think I'll call my daughter...

PD, Westwind, and Eli, I'm very sorry for your losses. I lost a very close friend in 2013, and it still hurts every day, though less now than it did before. My mother is also severely disabled and 62 now, and I know we may not have many more years left together, though I hope for as many as I can get. You're so right about enjoying the time we have with our loved ones.
Please know that you have a community here that cares about you, not just TWP but the NationStates community in general, and you're in our thoughts.
