Greenman Daily: Forbidden Religion on the rise?

Citizens in major cities has noticed a rise in the banned religion "Tamanoism". "Tamanoism", also known as "some strange cult" is the belief to the Dark Lord known to believers as "Dark Lord Tamano". The practice of the cult has been banned over 50 years ago due to an incident leading to many dead. New Tamaoist followers claim that they practice a "Tamer" version of Tamanoism. Former followers of Tamanoism has called this new reformed version an "Absolute disgrace to the Dark Lord"

A recent statement held by the Head Commander States the following: "As much as we would like to remember those that harmed us or our loved ones, giving them [serial killers] elegant names like The Twilight Thrasher only motivates them". The Head Commander suggests naming Serial Killers diminishing names such as [Too Explicit For Public Media]. Other methods to prevent cool names is to not name the killer at all, call them by their real name

Vanessa started presenting the results: "Eighteen matches were played yesterday, just like on the first matchday, in which the competitors played two matches between each other in order to even out the results, and then the results added up to earn the final score, two wins or one win and one draw lead to 1-0 for the better player, while two draws or one win for each lead to a 1/2-1/2 points draw. Group A was able to get past its drawish first matchday with two wins and one draw today, going as expected according to chess ratings. In this group, all players still have good chances since the first matchday was solely composed of draws. However, Group B was more interesting, with a big upset in the match between Grandmaster Sergio Amorante-Aquilano and Candidate Master Lorentia Gavione that resulted in a draw. This means that Lorentia and Vanessa Gravanda-Edrense—who drew against Lukia Aquilano-Severino—were able to recover from the previous day's loss. However, Markia Allamore, who lost against the youngest tournament member Gustavo Takeda, is now in jeopardy and must earn good results in the next few matches if they want to have a chance at winning the Championship."
She continued: "Group C had two draws and one win, the win happening on the match between Grandmaster Karlo Neurine-Sousa and Vittore Urbano-Allamore for the former. This means that Vittore has lost twice in a row and is not in a good position, but all other members of the group are more or less fine. A similar situation happens in Group D with Flavia Altokastro, who lost another match, in a group that was the only one of the day to not have any draws. Group D also saw the rebounding of the defending champion Lavinia Pasquale-Arbone, who won yesterday after an upset in Matchday 1 that resulted in her drawing her lower-rated opponent. Meanwhile, Group E was similar to Matchday 1's Group A, having all of its three matches resulting in a draw, including two upsets in which Grandmasters Giovanni Amdo-Gyatso and Severo Spindola Giordano drew against their opponents. Finally, Group F featured a match between two of the tournament's under-20 members, Giuliana Flaviano-Emina and Aurelio Vindemia Orfeo, which resulted in a draw. Other matches in that group went as expected, with now twice-defeated Sebastiana Glendora in jeopardy of being eliminated if they don't have good results in the next matches."

1421 Giovannilandian Chess Championship

The 1421 edition of the Giovannilandian Chess Championship has started today! It's one of the largest and most famous tournaments in the entire country, with thousands of fans coming every year. The tournament is taking place in Sonserina, a city in the Akallia Region that is also the national capital of chess.
In the opening ceremony, Prime Minister Amore Gile-Abrente visited the tournament venue and gave a short statement: "I hope that the 1421 edition of our national Chess Championship can be as successful as the previous ones ever since 1294, when the tournament first started. Good luck to all the players, who have already proved their chess skills in regional competitions, and will certainly show them again in the national championship! May the best chess player win, and may we hopefully see some rising chess talents. For Giovanniland!"
Following the Prime Minister's speech, each player showed up carrying a flag of their region as the crowd cheered for each of them. Finally, in the last major event of the day, the groups for the championship's group stage were announced. The 36 players were drawn into six groups of six, by selecting one player from the six ranked pots, to which players were allocated according to their rankings: 1st-6th best into the first pot, 7th-12th into the second, and so on. The groups are listed in the table below, together with the schedule of matches. The schedule and brackets were also revealed and is shown after the table.

If you travel from Greenman City and head East for 150KM, you will find The Great Aeul Forest, they call it this because the once great and mysterious kingdom of Aeul once resided here, we don't know why they collapse as we're still trying to figure that out. Moving deep in the forest you will find thse 7 meter stone figures, we call these the Stone Guardians. It is said that the Stone Guardians expel any outside dangers that may harm Aeul. We're lucky to find such pristine giants. These places are so unknown even the top local tour guides wouldn't showcase The Great Aeul Forest, that's why we are here to doccument it! These stone guardians would resemble humanoid figures with rough facial features and looking inside, they were mostly hollow, sources say that it was hollow so Aeul soldiers could hide inside for warmth and shelter.

Greenman Daily: Helicopter Crash!

Two hours ago in the Greenman Barracks in Birthright, two helicopters crashed into eachother. It was supposed to be a routine helicopter dogfight training where two teams of four would try to pop balloons attached to the opposing helicopter. Due to a daring mistake, the helicopter nicknamed 'Alpha-1' crashed into the other helicopter, all eight recruits involved died. Their trainer, Grenarch the Elite will be put into questioning for neglecting to teach proper heli-routine.
 
Due to this mistake, all pilots now have a mandatory 30 hours training in a flight simulation.

Greenman Daily: The Bow Festival

As this is being written, no event has occured in the Bow Festival today, people are still setting up the parade. This is a once in a lifetime event that you must attend. The event is happening in Birthright so readers in Green-Land and Narrow Steppe, now is your time to leave home and watch the events fold before they do without you!

The Festival of bow is going to occur in 7/6/1421, tents and stands are currently being prepared, the Temple of Weproforge is opening up for tourists to see the "Grand Offering of Bows"
 
Everyone is allowed to attend and even offer a bow to the Bow Deity, any weapon that is not a bow is prohibited during the event.

Festival of Bow : Greenman Mercenaries Parade

The Festival of Bow has finally begun. Looking around, news agencies such as Greenman Daily, Santo-Dominian Post, Larxian Post and other smaller journalists came to record the events take place. You can clearly hear the reporter for Greenman Daily. 
"-And in 10 minutes, we will see the parade floats that depict the stories of the Bow Deity".

You finally can see the Greenman Mercenaries marching in the streets, it seems that the front has the youngest mercenaries and the back has the oldest, the mercenaries are carrying bows as any other weapon is not allowed during the event, the next set of marching soldiers dressed in the old Greenman Battle Guild bolta uniform (even though the Bolta is a crossbow unit). The first parade float arives in your view and it's a statue depiction of the Bow Deity

Standing in front of the statue is Head Commander Deficit who is wearing the Bow Deity's signiture Skull-Horned Mask. some other floats appear depicting stories like "The Clash of Bow and Axe" and some other battles.

You may already know me as the leader of both the Greenman Mercenaries and Greenman Occupied Territory, but for the ones who don't know me, I am Head Commander Deficit. Today is the day where we switch our praise from the Spear Deity to the Bow Deity, please stay silent as I read page four of the Order of Weproforge: Bow Variant" Everybody goes silent, "When the first week of every third month passes, a new Deity demands attention, which is why I, the Bow Deity will take these next months. By praising me, you will ensure victory and glory in the battlefield. Now can we please have a minute of silence..." Everybody continues the silence for five minutes

The Head Commander continues his speech, "Thank you for your patience and willingness to participate in these moments of silence, now before we get on with the festival, please note that any weapon  that is not a bow, will get you kicked out of the city. The Shooting Tournament begins at 4PM so do not miss it! The guards to your right will help escort you to Birthright Plaza." you and everybody else walk out of the open field and get to experiencing the Bow Festival.

You enter the Birthright Plaza, there's a few stalls and tents setup with loads of food and games, there's even target practice for the Tournament, you decide to practice... You are terrible at archery.
 
4PM Auran Standard Time
 
The Tournament begins and you decide to play in the event despite your skill. To your left looks like a master archer shooting all bullseyes and on your right is none other than Commander Gestalt, she gives you a little wave before firing her arrow. You aim your bow and fire. You managed to gain one point in the whole tournament, that master archer you saw won the tournament. The prize is 15,000 Greenman Credits.

you continue enjoying your day in the carnival, buying food and participating in some archery games, you manage to win a stuffed animal duck for managing to throw a ring a colored glass bottle.

Festival of Bow: Climbing the Weproforge Temple

As you are having a good time, you notice the news agencies climbing up the Temple early, you don't think more of it as you assume they're just getting their cameras ready and besides, Greenman Alcohol is too good to leave on early.
 
6PM Auran Standard Time
People are getting ready to climb up to the Weproforge Temple to offer a bow, you decide to follow suit with the offering so you buy a longbow from one of the stalls and wait in line, people walk in packed groups so nobody gets lost during the climb, you can hear the Greenman Daily newspeaker talking "Good evening everybody, the climb to Weproforge Temple is on now, we have a couple of drones flying so you could see just how massive the line to start climbing is just insane-" their words become meaningless jumble as you walk closer to the entrance.
 
6:23PM Auran Standard Time
You finally make it to the top of the temple, you lay down the longbow on the designated spot and leave. You feel good about what you just done, the priests up on the temple offer you a bottle of water, you take it because that was the most exausting 20 minute walk you've ever taken.

about 900 people were randomly selected to fire an arrow in this event, you weren't one of them but it would still be fun to watch. The children are given a fake bow that flashes a strong flashlight while everybody else fires a longbow with flaming arrows, how nothing was set ablaze you will never know

Everybody was escorted to the open field again to listen to the Head Commander's speech.
"Thank you everybody for attending this special event, it is officially the month of Bow, the festival is over so good night!" you leave for Birthright International Airport, you had a great time at the festival.

You finally can see the Greenman Mercenaries marching in the streets, it seems that the front has the youngest mercenaries and the back has the oldest, the mercenaries are carrying bows as any other weapon is not allowed during the event, the next set of marching soldiers dressed in the old Greenman Battle Guild bolta uniform (even though the Bolta is a crossbow unit). The first parade float arives in your view and it's a statue depiction of the Bow Deity

Standing in front of the statue is Head Commander Deficit who is wearing the Bow Deity's signiture Skull-Horned Mask. some other floats appear depicting stories like "The Clash of Bow and Axe" and some other battles.

As this is being written, no event has occured in the Bow Festival today, people are still setting up the parade. This is a once in a lifetime event that you must attend. The event is happening in Birthright so readers in Green-Land and Narrow Steppe, now is your time to leave home and watch the events fold before they do without you!

The Festival of bow is going to occur in 7/6/1421, tents and stands are currently being prepared, the Temple of Weproforge is opening up for tourists to see the "Grand Offering of Bows"
 
Everyone is allowed to attend and even offer a bow to the Bow Deity, any weapon that is not a bow is prohibited during the event.

Storm Valeria the most destructive storm experienced in Larxia in the last 75 years

New Larxia- Larxia, on 23rd May, witnessed one of the most devastating storms in the last 75 years. Many people had to evacuate their homes, and go inland to get away from the path of destruction. Luckily, the T20 World Cup Final, taking place in New Larxia, did not have to be delayed, because the stadium was in the northern areas of the city, while the storm passed over the southern parts. We would also like to commend the players and coaches, who pledged thousands of dollars to the Valeria Relief Fund.

The Larxian Meteorological Department should be commended for their vigilant nature in identifying, and quickly alerting the authorities about the destructive storm. The LMD was also very accurate in their predictions about the path of the Storm, and the wind-speeds. 
Total loss was estimated to be somewhere around Σ24 billion- Σ12 billion in losses to households, Σ5 billion in losses to commercial businesses, and Σ7 billion in losses to the public sector. Almost 2.4 million people were displaced due to the storm. Total number of confirmed deaths were around 21 thousand, and around 92 thousand people are still missing. The Valeria Relief Fund, with the help of you, the average citizens of Larxia, was able to raise around Σ10 billion, and many people also contributed by letting the displaced people stay at their homes for a few days, feeding the unfortunate masses, and all in all, just demonstrating the humanitarian side of Larxia. The Windlar Castle also saw some damages, which will be fixed.
The Larxian Military has been working day and night to search for the missing people. At the beginning of the Military operations, around 180 thousand people were missing, but in the 12 days of constant searching and saving, the Larxian military managed to rescue almost 90 thousand people, and around 12 thousand animals. The Army is working tirelessly on their search ops, since the past 12 days. The Air Force has been patrolling the skies, with the helicopters, looking for any signs of life on the ground below, while the Navy has been working to reducing the flooding of the storm-hit regions.
The King, in a statement, said, "Dear citizens of Larxia, while it brings me great sorrow that the people have suffered so much, I am proud to announce that our military, working tirelessly since the past few days, have done a remarkable job in their rescue operations. They have managed to rescue almost 90 thousand people, who are being reunited with their families as I give this statement. We have incurred massive losses due to the storm, and this might set back our economy for some time. While we do have a Disaster Fund, this Storm has overshot our Fund by almost Σ8 billion, but the citizens of Larxia raised almost Σ10 billion, and I am proud, that the people of Larxia stood up for each other. While we did manage to cover the Σ8 billion, we still need to rebuild our cities and towns, so our economy might suffer for some time, but I have been assured by the Economic Advisors that the slump will be very short, and we will be back very soon, even stronger than before. We will focus on rebuilding, and re-establishment of the infrastructure, but we will be aiming to rebuild it better than before, with the newest technologies, and the greenest form of energy. I, King James of Larxia, will also be furnishing the Relief Fund with an extra Σ5 billion from my personal wealth. Also, as you may know, the Windlar Castle has endured some damages. Let me assure you, that only the renovations required for basic security reasons will be done to the Castle for now. The people of Larxia will be given the first priority, and the focus will be completely on the repopulating of the storm-hit areas. That is all I have to say for now. Take care of yourselves, and help the affected people in any way you can."
Never thought we would see a King who prioritises the rebuilding of the general populace's home, even before his own home. The Kingdom of Larxia is definitely very lucky to have a monarch like King James. Other notable contributions were from the Larxian National Sports Teams, some of the richest men of Larxia, Elon Dusk, Steve Task, etc.
Larxia is expected to fully heal by this time next year, with major infrastructure contracts being handed out to major players of the market. Economists reckon that after this rebuilding, Larxia will be even more economically sound that before, as they forecast great weather in the NLSE and LSE in the years to come.
