  1. Drach, Just a short note to say that the Index of Daily Issues is a bit behind with 20 new issues not yet posted. I have placed the last 3 Issues, #474, #475 and #475, on the Nation States **SPOILER ALERT** thread as my most recent offering there Checked back through the index postings and found that I had posted 13 as 'first reported' - didn't think it was that many #474: Mesozoic Park [Asterdan; ed:Sedgistan] #475: Where Have All The Flowers Gone? [Palaiologos II; ed:Lenyo] #476: A Farewell To Raised Arms? [Nation of Quebec; ed:Gnejs]
  2. What, none of you has any English in you! Me, I'm 62.5% English, 25% Irish, and 12.5% French. Hope the math is good
  3. Hope I'm not too late to offer the hand of friendship and trust that you will enjoy your stay here in the madhouse that purports to be The West Pacific
  4. Nice medal, Yy! *breaks out in a big grin*
  5. Hey, Drak, I'm not sure that I follow your list. Maybe you could add an explanation, please?
  6. Again, what is your question? If you post just the wording of the Daily Issue, that helps nobody
  7. It is, indeed, time to lock it, even if we don't turn it into smoldering ashes
  8. From TWP Regional Message Board: a post by Mediobogdum Thanks to all TWP nations that voted in the Regional Poll for the new name for our Regional Newspaper Here are the results of the poll: The West Pacifican 45 votes Ye Olde Snarkee 30 votes The Snarky Times 14 votes The Snarky Sun 4 votes The Weird Pacific Sun 2 votes The West Pacific Snark So, it's now over to Big Bad Badger and Zogradia to get the first issue of The West Pacifican out
  9. Karaoke: suggest you ask Yy if he could write something about its history, the "rules", and embed one or two songs for every edition? How about a series on "How did you become involved in NS" -starting with an interview of the Old Guard and then the New Guard? What about a series done by the Polandball group with sketches/skits of TWP characters? That's 3 different regular topics that should keep somebody busy for a while
  10. You are just what a good salesman wants - a returning customer Welcome back to TWP and hope you decide to stay - Tuna gets a special prize for recruitment; a thanks from the delegate *thanks Tuna profusely*
  11. BBB, You now have RO Communications status and can issue your Advocate tg messages as you wish Hariko has already sent me his proposed tg for the Darkipedia Index which you can then 'top and tail' and send it out! Will send it to you ASAP. Medio
  12. Issue frequency is always a hard one to agree on. I would suggest to start out that bi-monthly would be a good periodicity. Ideas are very often easy to come by for the first few issues but things tend to 'dry up' thereafter and undue pressure is brought to bear upon editors, writers, etc to produce good quality articles, and the staff has a tendency to become disillusioned, and leave. As for content and structure, the Dass Nachrichten team did a great job for the single issue and maybe you should tap into their thoughts and add those to your own. The overall format was good although there was a need for better proof reading of the BBcode because we had a few 'bloopers' One thing that we must include, is pictures. Our last publication, although it had good content and a good banner, lacked visual impact as it was all text.
  13. Maybe you wanted to turn them through 90 degrees? Yes, that looks better now
  14. BTW, should this thread be under the Foreign Affairs Ministry, rather than General Discussion?
  15. BBB, If you could select about 8 names from the assembled company of options/ideas given so far, I would like to make it the subject of the next poll Of course, this will depend on whether any of the other guardians jump in ahead of me with a less meaningful poll! Medio
  16. Thanks Hari, now I understand From your source: "All your base are belong to us" is a broken English phrase found in the opening cut scene of the 1991 video game Zero Wing which became a popular Internet meme. The quote is included in the European version of the game, which features poorly translated English from the original Japanese version. I hope that this subtle motto will not be lost on too many of the 'older' NS players, like me
  17. Malviet, The reference to "all your base" seems a bit obscure, at least to me anyway Perhaps all your "chocolate" might be fun? Medio
  18. Not sure I understand the "All your base belong to us"? Should it say "bases"?
  19. I've asked Hariko if he would carry out an update as it is an IA matter.
