  1. Minister for the Defense Commends Actions Taken by the Defense Intelligence Agency and Cambrian Forces Military Police

    IMMEDIATE RELEASE

    April 16, 1423
As Minister for the Defense of the Kingdom of Cambria, I want to express my gratitude to the Defense Intelligence Agency and Cambrian Forces Military Police for their successful efforts in thwarting an individual who planned to carry out an attack against Seda's power grid. The recent press release from the Ministry of Justice highlights the seriousness of this situation, and the swift action taken by our intelligence and law enforcement agencies has prevented a potential disaster.

The Ministry for the Defense is fully committed to working with the Ministry of Justice to ensure that the individual responsible for the attempted attack receives the Queen's Justice. We pledge our full support and cooperation in this effort.

We must continue to prioritize the protection of the Queen's Peace and the safety and security of our citizens. Any attempt to disrupt this peace through violent means will not be tolerated, and we will take all necessary measures to prevent such incidents from occurring.

As Minister for the Defense, I want to remind all Cambrian service members, Defense civilians, and law enforcement officers that by working together, we can ensure our great kingdom remains safe and secure for all of our citizens.

  2. Treasury Targets Corporatist Financial Facilitator and Sanctions Evaders Around the World
    PRESS STATEMENT

    April 14, 1423

The fight against the Remnant Corporatist regime continues as the Cambrian Ministry of the Treasury’s Commission for the Control of Foreign Assets (CCFA) takes further action to limit their access to the global financial system. This latest move targets the facilitation network of an individual who is already subject to sanctions in multiple jurisdictions, Koowisguwi Dvslago, CFO of the Zoranian Banking Clan, and reinforces existing measures to disrupt the regime's importation of critical technologies.

In total, CCFA has designated five individuals and six entities with touchpoints in two jurisdictions, in an effort to disrupt evasion schemes that support the regime's rebuilding efforts. Concurrently, the Cambrian Ministry of State is designating several entities operating in Orandia's defense sector and additional entities associated with Alchera's State Energy Corporation (Alsec).

Associate Minister of the Treasury for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence, Fiona Lindholm, emphasized the Cambrian government's dedication to implementing the AU commitment to imposing severe costs on third-country actors who support the Remnant Corporatist's war efforts. "As these bad actors seek ways around the expansive multilateral sanctions and export controls, Cambria and our allies and partners will continue to disrupt evasion schemes," Lindholm said.

This latest action by the CCFA highlights the ongoing efforts of Cambria and its partners to combat the Remnant Corporatist regime and disrupt its attempts to rebuild and facilitate future conflicts in Zoran. The Fact Sheet accompanying the State's announcement provides further details on the entities and individuals targeted by the sanctions.

Special thanks to Zoran for his input.

  3. Activists detained on Cambrian whaling vessel - Polar Conservancy
    By Cambrian Public Broadcasting Staff

    April 14, 1423

Evanstad (CPB) - On Friday, a Cambrian frigate detained three environmental activists, including one Badgerian and two Novasamitan citizens, after they boarded a research vessel conducting a cetacean census and culling expedition in the Thulian Ocean. The individuals in question, from the Badgerian-based group Esferos Rescue, were supported by the non-profit Polar Conservancy, which is currently tracking Cambria’s whaling fleet in an effort to prevent the cull. The Novasamita-based Polar Conservancy has been campaigning for some time to stop the cull and confirmed that the three activists, described as "prisoners now detained on a Cambrian warship", were still on board the JARVIS.

Arnold Paulsen, founder of the Polar Conservancy, stated via satellite phone while enroute to the Thulian Ocean that the Cambrian frigate had been dispatched to impede the organization's campaign. Paulsen further noted that the activists' radios appeared to have been seized and that there had been no response from the Cambrian vessel. "They are stalking us," Paulsen stated. "The Jarvis won’t talk to us. They don’t respond to our radio calls." The spokesman for the Crown Institute for Marine Sciences, which coordinates the annual hunt, confirmed that the three men were in Cambrian custody and being questioned, but was unable to comment on whether or not they would be taken to Cambria. According to Colton Nordstrom, the spokesman, the Cambrian research vessel was 1,100 km off the Novasamitan coast at the time of the incident.

Steve Earle, spokesman for Esferos Rescue, stated that the action was intended to protest the Cambrian government's inaction and demand the return of the whalers to Cambria's exclusive economic zone. "We don’t need to kill these beautiful creatures anymore," he told CPB.

Special thanks to Big Bad Badger for his input.

  4. LTI Member Charged with Arson and Possession of a Destructive Device

    For Immediate Release

    April 14, 1423

The Ministry of Justice of the Kingdom of Cambria announces today that a man has been charged with arson and possession of a destructive device following a joint operation between the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) and Cambrian Forces Military Police.

The subject of the charges is a member of the Lord's Territorial Initiative, an extremist group known for their violent tactics and anti-government ideology. The man was caught attempting to deploy a destructive device at the Seda power grid, a critical infrastructure facility in the Kingdom of Cambria. Thanks to the swift and effective response of the DIA and Cambrian Forces Military Police, the device was recovered before it could cause any harm.

If convicted, the suspect faces up to 20 years in prison for the malicious use of explosive materials charge and up to 10 years in prison for the possession of a destructive device charge.

The Kingdom of Cambria condemns any and all attempts to harm its citizens and undermine the Queen's Peace. We will not tolerate any form of terrorism or extremist violence. The swift response by our law enforcement agencies is a testament to the strength and resolve of our security forces in the face of threats to our nation.

We would like to take this opportunity to commend the DIA and Cambrian Forces Military Police for their outstanding efforts in thwarting this attack. Their dedication and professionalism are an inspiration to all Cambrians, and we are proud to have them as part of our kingdom's security forces.

The Ministry of Justice will ensure that the individual responsible for this heinous act is brought to justice and held accountable for their actions. We urge all Cambrians to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities.

We assure our citizens that the Kingdom of Cambria will continue to take all necessary measures to safeguard the Queen's Peace and ensure the security and well-being of our people.

  5. Building Hope and Roads in Ryxtylopia

    PRESS RELEASE

    April 12, 1423

Cambria is pleased to announce the launch of an extensive construction project that will include the establishment of a naval base in Matixarrati Bay, Ryxtylopia. This project is a collaborative effort between Ryxtylopia and close Allies Teralyon and United Adaikes, and its positive impact will be felt across the region.

This construction project is not just about building infrastructure, but it is also about improving the quality of life for the people of Ryxtylopia. By creating new jobs and spurring economic growth, this project will bring much-needed relief to the struggling population.

In addition, the establishment of a naval base will enhance the military presence in the region and enable us to better combat piracy and petty warlords, particularly in the unstable nation of Bilyad. The Cambrian government recognizes the importance of regional stability and security, and we remain committed to collaborating with our international partners to achieve these goals.

We hope that this project will serve as a beacon of progress and cooperation for the entire region. Cambria looks forward to continuing to work closely with our international partners to promote stability and prosperity in Ryxtylopia and beyond.

  6. Briefing on Cambria’s Updated Naval Mine Policy
    SPECIAL BRIEFING

AMBASSADOR EWAN ODHNER, ASSOCIATE MINISTER FOR ARMS CONTROL AND INTERNATIONAL SECURITY

    VIA TELECONFERENCE (excerpt from transcripts)

    APRIL 12, 1423

    ...

MR EKLUND: Thanks for that. Operator, if you wouldn’t mind repeating the instructions to ask a question.

OPERATOR: For any questions or comments, you may queue up by pressing 1 and then 0. That’s 1 and then 0 for any questions or comments.

MR EKLUND: Perfect. We’ll start with the line of Thomas Valen, please.

OPERATOR: One moment. The line is open.

    QUESTION: Thank you.

Could I ask you about another recent event? Zoranian Queen Atsil made public remarks in defense of her nations military-industrial pursuits. What are your thoughts on Queen Atsil's statement? Thanks.

AMBASSADOR ODHNER: Yes, I watched the young Queen's public response regarding her nation's recent arms deal with Kalmach. It placed a rather interesting interpretation of historical peace-time sales on display. However, we must make it clear that the intentional sale of fighter aircraft, or any military platform or weapon of war, for use in an active armed conflict is a grave concern for us and the international community. The consequences of such sales could lead to further instability and loss of lives in the region.

Furthermore, it is disappointing to see the supposed anti-corporate state justifying their actions as beating rival nations to an emerging market. Such a rationale, coupled with the argument that this arms deal is a mere fraction of a percent of GDP, is hypocritical and does not align with the principles of responsible governance.

As members of the international community, we all must prioritize stability and peace over economic gain. Cambria and its AU Allies urge Zoran to reconsider this arms deal and to explore alternative means of pursuing its national interests. Preferably one devoid of Corporatists in Monarchists robes. It is crucial that we work together to ensure a secure and prosperous future for all nations involved.

MR EKLUND: We’ll go to the line of Andrea Hellberg.

OPERATOR: One moment. Your line is open.

QUESTION: Good morning. Thank you for doing this. I just want to be clear whether today’s action prevents sea mine usage under all circumstances, and does this direct the Ministry for the Defense to destruct naval mines in its possession? Thank you.

    ...

  7. Regarding the Zoranian Sale of Fighter Aircraft to Kalmach

    April 10, 1423

We, the government of the Kingdom of Cambria, express our grave concern over the recent reports of Zoran's intent to sell of ZF-2 Stormhawk fighters to Kalmach for use in an armed conflict with Garahun. This act threatens the principles of peace that both our nation holds dear.

It is alarming to note that this decision appears to be a continuation of Corporatist policies that were prevalent in Zoran's previous government. We believe that the sale of military aircraft to Kalmach for use against Garahun is not only a threat to regional stability but also poses a risk to global security.

We urge Zoran to reconsider this decision and instead work towards promoting peace and stability in the region. It is our firm belief that the only way to ensure lasting peace is through dialogue, cooperation, and respect for the common good. We hope that Zoran will join us in this endeavor and take steps to demonstrate its commitment to these principles.

We look forward to engaging in constructive dialogue with Zoran to address this issue and find a mutually agreeable solution that upholds the principles of peace and stability.

  8. Office of Adjudication Issues Update on March 1422 Data Breach
    PRESS RELEASE

    April 9, 1423

The Office of Adjudication within the Ministry of Natural Resources and Cultural Heritage has issued an update on the data breach of its Rulings Database, which was discovered on March 23, 1422. The breach was determined to be the result of a software misconfiguration that allowed a limited number of records related to indigenous probate hearings and Lord's Territorial Initiative prosecutions to be disclosed when searches were conducted on the site.

Following the breach, the Ministry announced steps it had taken to address the issue and launched outreach efforts, including engagement with local leaders and potentially affected individuals. An independent investigation and technical analysis of the breach were also conducted, resulting in the identification of an additional 42 cases with 302 potentially affected individuals who will receive notification letters and an offer of identity protection services at no cost to them.

Significant safeguards have been added to the Rulings Database to protect internal information from being accessed. On October 11, 1422, public access to the database was restored with these safeguards in place.

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Cultural Heritage takes data privacy and security seriously and is committed to ensuring the protection of personal information. The Office of Adjudication will continue to monitor the situation and take any necessary steps to further safeguard the database and the personal information of those who use it.

  9. On the Massacre in Zlato
    PRESS STATEMENT

    APRIL 6, 1423

We strongly condemn the atrocities shown in a recently released video. The video appears to depict unarmed, blindfolded civilians being shot at point-blank range by an Osition regime official before falling into a mass grave in Zlato, Alchera. This took place during the 1415 massacre, which reportedly killed numerous Alcheran civilians. The video provides further evidence of war crimes committed by the Osition regime and highlights the horrors endured by the Alcheran people for over a decade.

We commend and continue to support the courageous individuals who work to bring Osition and his regime to justice, often at great risk to their own lives. This includes the important work of Alcheran civil society organizations in documenting violations of the law of armed conflict, human rights abuses, and violations, as well as advancing transitional justice. Her Majesty's government remains steadfast in its commitment to ensuring accountability for the atrocities inflicted upon Alcherans by the Osition regime. Accountability and justice for the crimes, violations, and abuses committed against Alcherans are crucial to establishing a stable, just, and lasting peace in Alchera and the Dragon Reach.

    April 8, 1423

The people of Zoran continue to inspire the world as they rebuild their country from the cruel civil war instigated by the Corporatist regime. Cambria and its partners stand in solidarity with the people and government of Zoran.

Today, in line with the authority provided by Her Majesty, Queen Sabine III, I am pleased to announce the immediate authorization of ₢100 million for additional security infrastructure assistance for Zoran. This package will include further security assistance to help Zoran address the civil, cyber, and other threats it is facing. Metsalaulup Detainee Transfer Announced
    PRESS STATEMENT

    April 2, 1423

The Ministry of the Defense announced today the repatriation of Nazer Ablaiev from the detention facility at Metsalaulup to the Free State of Dalimbar.

On March 19, 1423, the Detention Review Board (DRB) process determined that continued non-uniform combatant detention of Nazer Ablaiev was no longer necessary to protect against a significant threat to the security of the Kingdom of Cambria and associated territories and dependencies.

Minister August Soots notified The Seventy of his intent to repatriate Nazer Ablaiev to the Free State of Dalimbar, and, in a Three Saints teleconference with his counterpart, Admiral Mihovil Kresco, in the Free State of Dalimbar, completed the requirements for safe and responsible transfer as recommended by the DRB.

The Kingdom of Cambria appreciates the willingness of the Free State of Dalimbar to support ongoing efforts toward a deliberate and thorough peace focused on mutual respect, transparency, and accountability.

Special thanks to Dalimbar for his input.

The requirements established in the Initiative include the following:

    • Autonomous and semi-autonomous weapon systems will be designed to permit operational commanders to maintain appropriate levels of human judgement over the use of force.
    • Individuals who authorize, direct, or initiate the use of force by autonomous and semi-autonomous weapon systems will do so with appropriate care and in accordance with the law of war, applicable treaties, and applicable rules of engagement.
    • The weapon system has demonstrated appropriate responsiveness, capability, effectiveness, and reliability in real world conditions.
    • The design, development, deployment, and use of AI-capable systems is consistent with the Ministry's Principles of Ethics and the Strategy for Responsible Implementation.

Special thanks to Varanius for his input.

Cambric Concern for Integrity of Dilberif Judicial System
    PRESS STATEMENT

    March 26, 1423

The March 24 statement by Dilber’s Postmaster General* announcing the filing of a formal request to lift the immunity of judge Cranston Gopro is a transparent attempt to hamper investigations into corruption and an assault on the integrity of Dilber’s highest courts. Judge Gopro was previously recognized as a 1420 Tamaric University Person of Courage (TUPOC) for their efforts to strengthen judicial integrity and the rule of law in Dilber. The autonomy of judges to review cases, establish guidance, and issue rulings and sentences free from the specter of reprisal or external influence is a cornerstone of the rule of law. Continued targeted action against an independent and internationally recognized jurist degrades the central pillar of Dilber’s free and fair judicial system.

*Why Postmster General? Because they deliver the evidence!

Special thanks to Dilber for his input.

    Sanctioning Corporatist Financiers in Zoran
    PRESS STATEMENT

    March 26, 1423

The Kingdom of Cambria is designating three Corporate-linked financial facilitators and their Zoran-based travel company. We are taking action in solidarity with the Zoranian people, whose security and sovereignty remain threatened by Corporatists' corrupt and destabilizing activities.

Individuals Kunokeski Lagena, Sallali Dvago, and Tooantuh Hetlose, and business Kalvgv Travel were designated under Crown Order 26448, as amended, which targets terrorists, leaders, and officials of terrorist groups, and those who provide support to terrorists or acts of terrorism.

As the Zoranian people suffer an economic crisis of historic proportions, the Corporatocracy continues to engage in illicit activity and amass wealth at the expense of the Zoranian people. The Corporatocracy and its associates are more concerned with advancing their interests than the best interests of the Zoranian people. For more information on today’s action, please see the Treasury Ministry press release.

Special thanks to Zoran for his "input".

  16. Fans' Choice: Top 3 Cambric football superstitions
The sporting world is a whacky place where glorious, unexpected, sensational and bizarre moments can happen in the blink of an eye. With more than fifty million Cambrians watching football regularly, it has proven to be the gold star standard for strange traditions

We asked fans to send us an email describing the crazy details pertaining to the traditions of their favorite players. Below are the three most submitted answers. Let's take a look!

    3. Throwing Celery At Ibarra
Most people throw salt over their shoulder to ward against bad luck. Alesia fans have taken to throwing celery at Nelson Ibarra after every goals he scores. The practice started in 1417 after the star striker was spotted snacking on a stalk prior to the Queen's Cup Final.

    2. Zuparic Sleeping With His Shin Guards
Jaroslaw Zuparic has always been afraid that his shin guards would be misplaced or left behind in a locker or hotel room. To combat this, Zuparic claimed to sleep in his shin guards the night before a game to ensure that they were always ready to go and would not be lost.

    1. The Tournament Beard
The top pick of footballs fans is the national tournament beard. The superstition is simple – you and your fellow fans skip the razor for the duration of a tournament. Famously the Queen once quipped that shunning shaving was "not only for the men." Since then every fan finds a way to let the hair grow for the team.
