  1. "Good afternoon to the viewers from Giovanniland and elsewhere! We are just starting our Chess Report that happens every three days, in which we cover Matchday 2 of the Giovannilandian Chess Championship. I am your host Vanessa Desniana and together with my colleague Karlo Nakamura-Edrense, we'll present the match results and group standings, as well as some highlights from the weekend. Without further ado, let's start!" Group A Group B Group C GM Gianna Superbo-Legia, 2669 1-0 Amanda Gilvano Valli, 2301 GM Antonio Ambrosio Borba, 2557 1/2-1/2 IM Gratia Frigiva-Lukio, 2483 CM Artorio Flavio Silva, 2421 1-0 Gabriella Ambroso, 2277 GM Sergio Amorante-Aquilano, 2701 1/2-1/2 CM Lorentia Gavione, 2376 GM Gustavo Takeda, 2601 1-0 IM Markia Allamore, 2505 CM Lukia Aquilano-Severino, 2415 1/2-1/2 Vanessa Tiberiano Edrense, 2243 GM Karlo Neurino-Sousa, 2675 1-0 Vittor Urbano-Allamore, 2311 GM Giulietta Quintana-Altada, 2576 1/2-1/2 IM Gioseppa Opiternio, 2479 CM Serena Agrikola, 2393 1/2-1/2 Giordano Feragi, 2178 Group D Group E Group F GM Lavinia Pasquale-Arbone, 2753 1-0 Amando Nevio-Karpo, 2296 GM Guillermo Uryde-Amorino, 2541 1-0 IM Gepelle Gormo-Pasano, 2487 CM Flavia Altokastro, 2391 0-1 Elvidio Violeto Prasino, 2251 GM Giovanni Amdo-Gyasso, 2678 1/2-1/2 CM Tommaso Koliva, 2354 GM Severo Spindola Giordano, 2622 1/2-1/2 IM Filippo Ottaviano, 2494 CM Raffello Volturrio-Suevio, 2400 1/2-1/2 Felige Numeriana-Velio, 2222 GM Raffella Quadrigaro, 2787 1-0 CM Tiberio Serano-Bruttia, 2355 GM Giuliana Flaviano-Emina, 2636 1/2-1/2 IM Aurelio Vindemia Orfeo, 2520 IM Pietro Maldonato-Violeto, 2443 1-0 Sebastiana Glendora, 2255 Vanessa started presenting the results: "Eighteen matches were played yesterday, just like on the first matchday, in which the competitors played two matches between each other in order to even out the results, and then the results added up to earn the final score, two wins or one win and one draw lead to 1-0 for the better player, while two draws or one win for each lead to a 1/2-1/2 points draw. Group A was able to get past its drawish first matchday with two wins and one draw today, going as expected according to chess ratings. In this group, all players still have good chances since the first matchday was solely composed of draws. However, Group B was more interesting, with a big upset in the match between Grandmaster Sergio Amorante-Aquilano and Candidate Master Lorentia Gavione that resulted in a draw. This means that Lorentia and Vanessa Tiberiano Edrense—who drew against Lukia Aquilano-Severino—were able to recover from the previous day's loss. However, Markia Allamore, who lost against the youngest tournament member Gustavo Takeda, is now in jeopardy and must earn good results in the next few matches if they want to have a chance at winning the Championship." She continued: "Group C had two draws and one win, the win happening on the match between Grandmaster Karlo Neurino-Sousa and Vittor Urbano-Allamore for the former. This means that Vittor has lost twice in a row and is not in a good position, but all other members of the group are more or less fine. A similar situation happens in Group D with Flavia Altokastro, who lost another match, in a group that was the only one of the day to not have any draws. Group D also saw the rebounding of the defending champion Lavinia Pasquale-Arbone, who won yesterday after an upset in Matchday 1 that resulted in her drawing her lower-rated opponent. Meanwhile, Group E was similar to Matchday 1's Group A, having all of its three matches resulting in a draw, including two upsets in which Grandmasters Giovanni Amdo-Gyasso and Severo Spindola Giordano drew against their opponents. Finally, Group F featured a match between two of the tournament's under-20 members, Giuliana Flaviano-Emina and Aurelio Vindemia Orfeo, which resulted in a draw. Other matches in that group went as expected, with now twice-defeated Sebastiana Glendora in jeopardy of being eliminated if they don't have good results in the next matches." Now, with two matchdays finished, the bigger picture begins to unfold, and we can already see who is on the route of advancing to the knockout phase, and who could possibly be eliminated. Still, it's too early to tell for sure, there are still three matchdays left. Anyways, the players will now rest for a day and then play their next matches on June 23st and 24nd, which means our Chess Report has ended and the next one will be in three days. Stay tuned for more news about the Giovannilandian Chess Championship!"
