Kantrias Regional Update

UPDATE II

28th November, 2012

Regional Population: 134

Greeting from Kantrias – The Land of the Sword and the Gavel!

It’s been an active two weeks in Kantrias as the newly elected senate settles into the business of drafting and passing legislation, the ministry of Culture launches a short story competition, and the military forces of Kantrias sweep to victory on multiple fronts. The Region also passed the 125 member mark in a staggeringly short amount of time. So read on, friends, and discover these exciting events, and others, in this exhilarating edition of the Kantrias Regional Update!

Senatorial Shuffling – Elections and Accolades

IMG_2077_550x300.JPG

The senate is in session

The political scene in Kantrias is going from strength to strength, with debate and discussion filling the offices of Senate. Early legislation has focused on defining the boundaries of the three pillars of Kantrian government. The separation of powers has been foremost in the minds of the public, and this was reflected in the spirited debate which gripped the forums. Unfortunately though, this meant Senator Azawd was forced to resign his Senate position to take up a prestigious role as one of the three High Tribunal Justices. Also selected were the redoubtable Christopher Bishop and the mercurial Christian Wright.

The resignation of Azawd opened the door for an exciting by-election which saw the candidates of Xenia Sovetskie and Josh Sebastian, race neck and neck towards the finish line. With only thirty minutes remaining till the close of polls, Josh Sebastian took the lead and became the newest member of the Senate in a contest which is sure to be recorded as one of the tightest in Kantrian history.

Senator Sebastian, who is also the Minister of Foreign Affairs, has stated the aims of his term are to clarify the process for citizens wishing to propose legislation to the senate, pass legislation to bar Senators and Royal Councillors from holding the position of High Tribunal Justices, and to work towards a law governing the role of the World Assembly Delegate.

Congratulations were in order for Minister of the Interior and Royal Councillor Caldemar, who was honoured by the King for his outstanding contributions to the growth of the region. The Minister expressed his desire to continue to serve Kantrias as it continues to grow into an active and powerful region.

Captivating Culture –Roleplaying, Writing and Podcasts! Oh my!

041911_nyan_pop_tart_cat_t.jpg

We're just as perplexed as you are

The forums are abuzz with activity, with discussion ranging from religious belief, all the way to… cats? Books, roleplaying, competitions and podcasts were all on the agenda as the citizens of Kantrias came together to give the region a cultural character all of its own.

The Kantrias book club is well on its way to starting its first book, Steven Erikson’s Gardens of the Moon. Member will soon dive into the exciting world of Malazan and discuss the themes and issues explored in this weighty tome.

The roleplay area is alive to the sounds of hissing steam as an airship expedition departs to new lands and distant horizons in Steam Colonisation. Action is also heating up in Xenia Sovetskie’s Supremacy: Kantrias, as players create the nations they will control in the upcoming drama.

Queen Eliora Lockwood and the Ministry of Culture have launched an exciting new short story contest. Participants are invited to put their own spin of classic fairy tales, creating dark new fables. Entries should be 500-5000 words in length and must be submitted by December the 7th, 2012.

The Kantrian Public News Service also launched its first Skype talk show. Cerian Quilor, Caldemar, Eliora Lockwood and Jimothy Wright treated us to an auditory extravaganza as discussion led from the politics of Kantrias to Pop-tart based feline invasions.

Martial Manoeuvrers – The Royal Kantrian Army marches to battle

viktorm2.jpg

Kantrian forces on Parade

Kantrias is a land that is willing to extend its diplomatic reach by means other than the olive branch. It’s been an active time for the Royal Kantrian Army, as military units move to support allied engagements across a number of regions and the King launches the Royal Kantrian Army Reserve program.

Forces loyal to Kantrias moved to support The Brotherhood of Malice during their conquest of the Roman Empire. Other units swooped in to aid The Black Hawks in their continued occupation of The Islands of Eastern Dharma.

The Army Reserve was established to allow a more casual exploration of military gameplay for those who wanted it, while at the same time enhancing Kantrias’ military capability by supplying a ready and willing band of warriors for when push comes to shove.

And that’s the Kantrias Regional Update – Goodnight and Goodluck!

Note: Kantrian Postmaster is a new policy enacted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Kantrias, to have one account in all regions we have embassies with that exists to deliver the update to our various embassies. You can no doubt tell from IP address that Cerian Quilor is controlling this account for the moment, but who actually delivers the update through this account will not always be me.

Kantrias Regional Update

UPDATE III

12th December, 2012

Regional Population: 188

Greetings from Kantrias – The Land of the Sword and the Gavel!

Election excitement has gripped Kantrias with the determination of a new Senate, a World Assembly Delegate and a winner in the Twisted Fairy-tales short story competition. The region is still experiencing tremendous growth, reaching 188 nations and entering into the Top 50 largest regions for the first time. So read on, friends, and let us elucidate these electrifying events in this exhilarating edition of the Kantrias Regional Update!

Election Extravaganza – The Sensational New Senate

8262723867_0f4629a080.jpg

Results are in!

Elections for the new senate have finished, with a record five senators being selected by the population to serve in the next term. The election saw the return of experienced senators Jimothy Wright and Ice, as well as newcomers to the role, Caldemar Leutria and Eliora Lockwood. The final seat came down to thrilling contest between Roman Pierce and Christian Wright, with Roman Pierce winning the by-election after a close tussle.

Despite the excitement of the election, the day to day business of Senate was still under-way, with the passing of two important pieces of legislation. The World Assembly Bill codified the process for becoming World Assembly delegate. The resultant election was won unopposed by Interior Minister Caldemar Leutria. Security was also on the agenda with the passing of the Information Act in order to safeguard critical state secrets.

The King instituted a peerage system to reward those who have performed services to the realm with titles of nobility. The system awards those who have contributed to the region in the fields of Military endeavour, legislative and judicial service, and civilian executive functions. The first to receive this honour was Minister Caldemar who was raised to the rank of Viscount for his sterling work in building the region.

In other news, experienced NationStates player, Rix Cremieux, has been elevated to the Royal Council. Although a relatively recent arrival, he has already articulated several ideas for the betterment of the region, one of which is currently being implemented, and delivered a number of thought provoking lectures at the Royal Kantrian Academy of the Arts and Sciences.

Continuous Culture – Wonders of the Written Word!

Newspapers-500x308.jpg

Read all about it!

There has been a lot of creativity on display in the region, with the publication of three newspapers, a successful short story competition, a project charting the history of Kantrias, and a new instalment of the Kantrian Talk show!

In great news for subway commuters and lovers of relaxing breakfasts, the streets of Kantrias have been humming to the sounds of printing presses, as three of the region’s newspapers publish captivating new editions. Jimothy Wright’s Reactionary Watchman has kicked in to gear, settling into a regular weekly release which examines the political and cultural life of Kantrias from a conservative perspective. The Insanity Parties’ Asylum News delved cheerfully into regional events, with the usual dose of Poptart Cats. Finally, The Kantrian Monitor published an in-depth interview with Senator Ice, which discussed his previous term in the senate and his hopes for the future.

It was a tale of tension and excitement – and that was just the vote! After an incredibly close race, the Ministry of Culture’s first short story competition, Twisted Fairy-Tales, has ended with a win by Roman Pierce’s story, Deep Sea Diving. This clever twist on The Little Mermaid raced neck and neck to the finish line with MagentaFairy’s A Lone Soul. After the first vote ended in a tie, it seemed that the second vote would also end the same way, until Deep Sea Divingeventually took the lead. The close nature of the race is testament to the two competitor’s excellent writing skills, but by the narrowest margin, it was determined by the public that Mr Pierce had best expressed the theme of the competition. Other entries included Lucy Delacroix’s The Piper, and Gorilla Black’s The Emperor is not silly! The quality of all entries involved marked this as a very successful end to the Ministry of Culture’s first competition and will hopefully serve as a taste of things to come.

A fascinating project is underway as King Cerian Quilor launches A Complete and Running History of Kantrias. This first instalment, entitled The Foundation, charted the establishment and initial growth of the region. The Second, Forward to a Constitution, illuminated the founding of the first political parties and early forays into foreign affairs. This continuing narrative looks like it will prove to be both an enthralling and insightful chronicle, and an invaluable resource.

The hills were alive with the sound of … music? No! Chat! Yes, that’s right, it’s the latest episode the Kantrian Public News Services Skype talk show! This wide-ranging discussion covered foreign affairs, different aspects of military gameplay, and the nature of colonies and protectorates in the NationStates world. Once again it was edited wonderfully by our very own Queen Eliora.

Military Manoeuvres – The Royal Kantrian Army sweeps to victory

viktorm5.jpg

Victory to Kantrias!

With their trademark precision and perfect drill, Kantrian forces have raised the banner of the Sword and Gavel over captured several regions and aided allied troops in the occupation of others.

Under the leadership of King Cerian Quilor and General Christopher Bishop, units of the Royal Kantrian Army seized control of The Free Land, Phoenix 1, and Defranco Nation. Both The Free Land and Phoenix 1 were captured in the same update, a startling demonstration of Kantrian military organisation.

The Kantrian Army also aided in the Black Rider’s occupation of the region of Ether. Ether was formerly under the control of the Glass Gallows, a region famed for its support of Aretism. The King stated Kantrias’ continued opposition to this undemocratic and corrosive philosophy, and reaffirmed the region’s commitment to oppose it wherever it might be found.

And that’s the Kantrias Regional Update – Goodnight and Goodluck!

Kantrias Regional Update

UPDATE VII
20th of February, 2013
Regional Population: 202

Greetings from Kantrias – The Land of the Sword and the Gavel!

Do you like Elections? Of course you do! And that's just as well, because in the past two weeks we have had elections and accolades, ministries and media, competitions and culture, treaties and talkback, as well as the precision manoeuvring one expects from the Military forces of Kantrias. So follow us, fair friends, as all these exciting items, and plenty more, are to be found in this awfully energetic edition of the Kantrias Regional Update!

Dazzling Democracy – Senate Sits, Accolades Awarded, Treaties Transacted

8488272511_e27b9058b4.jpg
The Fourth Senate Elected

The political scene in Kantrias has been incredibly active over recent weeks, with the election of a new senate, the signing of two important treaties, and awards and honours granted to several citizens for exemplary services to the Kingdom of the Sword and the Gavel.

The 4th senate of Kantrias was elected in a poll unique in Kantrian history in that it didn’t end with a tie, deadlock or run-off vote. Returning senators Christian Wright and MagentaFairy were joined by new faces Krimson Vulkia, Edward Leben, and SPQR. Christian Wright was chosen unanimously by the senate to serve as the Speaker for the new
government.

The first act of business for this sensational senate was the approval of the King’s ministerial nominations. Christopher Bishop was returned to his post as General of the Royal Kantrian Army, MagentaFairy was reaffirmed in her position as Minister of the Interior, and Lucy Delacroix remained Minster of Foreign Affairs. Queen Eliora Lockwood was selected to be the Minister for Culture, returning to a position she held very successfully a term ago.

The Treaty of Baden was signed between Kantrias and the The New Inquisition, cementing an alliance between the two imperialist regions which has already borne fruit with a number of successful joint military operations.

In light of the changes to the Telegram system, and the new rules governing recruitment in User Created Regions, the Kantrian Senate passed legislation ratifying the Arnhelm Declaration of Recruitment Standards.

In recognition of their outstanding and enduring service to the realm, King Cerian Quilor raised Jimothy Wright and Christian Wright to the peerage of Kantrias with the rank of Patrician. The King made special mention of Jimothy Wright’s hard work and achievement in service to the senate. The King also singled out Christian Wright’s exceptional work in helping to formulate and clarify the laws of Kantrias.

The awards didn’t stop there as the King also awarded several members of the region for their service to Kantrias. Magenta Fair was awarded the Order of the Lotus, 3rd Class for services to the Interior. Eliora Lockwood was awarded the Order of the Lily 3rd Class, for her services to regional Culture. Lucy Delacroix was awarded the Order of the Orchid, 3rd Class for services to Foreign Affairs.

Capacious Culture – Fiction, Foreign affairs, and Folkore!

Time to sit back with a good book and take in the Kantrian Culture

With the election of the 4th senate the forums have really kicked into gear, with the Kantrian Public News Service (KPNS) producing several exciting new pieces of regional culture, the creation of a new roleplaying game, and the Ministry of Culture launches a new short story competition to explore the myths and folklore of Kantrias.

Do you love literature? The Delphinium Throne, written by Gustavus Adolphus Rex, has taken the forum by storm! This ongoing fantasy steampunk story sees the people of Kantrias grapple with events that may threaten to overwhelm the kingdom. With three chapters already finished, and a fourth on the way, stay tuned to find out how this entertaining drama plays out.

Turn the volume up and relax in your favourite chair as you listen to the latest edition of the Kantrian Podcast, the Kantricast. Episode 6 discusses the recent senatorial elections, touches briefly on foreign affairs, delves deeply into the proposed regional economy, and rushes headlong into debate about constitutional corrections.

KPNS in association with the Foreign Ministry has produced a new current affairs publication, Eye on the World. This semi-regular periodical examines the major themes and movements in foreign affairs in the wider NationStates world, and discusses what they might mean for Kantrias.

Citizens of Kantrias will soon by saving the world from undead hoards in Eliora Lockwood’s fantasy roleplaying game Arundel. Will the motley band of heroes triumph against evil forces which gather on the fringes of civilisation? Or will sinister powers cover the world in a second darkness?

The Ministry of Culture has launched a new short story competition, this time exploring the fireside tales and folklore of Kantrias. Entries must be 500-5000 words long and be submitted by March 4th, 2013. No matter which story take the prize, the real winner will be Kantrian Culture.

Kantrias Strikes - Sweeping Victories for the RKA

8489364972_ab0d101b1b.jpg
The Royal Kantrian Army -  Faster than lightning

Ah! I love the smell of raiding in the morning… it smells rather like victory! The Royal Kantrian Army has been exceptionally busy in recent days, aiding allies in the capture of several regions, supporting ongoing occupations, and striking out on their own to seize The Herd

The resurgent military forces of Kantrias captured The Herd in an expert display of martial precision, which saw the purple banner of the Sword and Gavel resplendently raised above the region.

In the first stroke of a very successful series of allied military manoeuvres, units of the Royal Kantrian Army supported
the New Inquisition as they captured the region of CATS. Co-operation continued closely in a joint operation which successfully took control of Romania De Aur. This victory was celebrated by the blissful banning of several defeated defenders. Delightful!

Kantrias also aided Europeia in their capture of the region of Avalon, which was magnificently seized from right under the noses of the rather lackadaisical defenders.

And to top it all off, units of the Royal Kantrian Army Reserve continue to aid the Black Riders in their ongoing occupation of The Middle East.

And that’s the Kantrias Regional Update – Goodnight and Goodluck!

Ah! Spring is in the air! And what better way is there to celebrate new life than with, you guessed it, a new senate! But that's not all Kantrias is doing to celebrate this scintillating season, as we launch in to the activity filled Cherry Blossom festival, crown a short story contest winner, and sweep to victory in a number of skillfully timed military machinations. So read on, friends, and let us take you on a proverbial skip through the spring meadow which is Kantrias!

Electric Electioneering - The Fifth Senate Elected!

8578041569_e021958fe7.jpg
The Fifth Senate Elected, Selected, and Dissected

Elections, huh? It just seems like a month ago I was here telling you about the last lot. Wait.. it was a month ago? Well that must mean it's time for the election of the Fifth Senate! And of course with a new senate we need new ministerial nominations. And heck, why not throw in a new High Tribunal Justice as well! Spring is a time for new beginning after all!

The election for the fifth senate saw a strong mix of experienced hands and newcomers vying for the four incredibly comfy seats up for grabs. Edward Leben, Jimothy Wright, Krimson Vulika and Caldemar Leutria, all experienced senators, claimed the seats, despite an excellent showing by newcomer Valfor.

The senate moved swiftly to the business at hand, electing Jimothy Wright to the role of senate speaker, before swiftly moving on to the approving the King's ministerial nominations.Christopher Bishop returned as General of the Royal Kantrian Army, along with Queen Eliora Lockwood to the role of Minister for Culture. SPQR was appointed minister of the Interior and Krimson Vulika was selected to take on the mantle of Minister of Foreign Affairs.

The second piece of business for the senate was to approve the King's nomination to fill the free spot in the Kantrian High Tribunal. Edward Leben was selected by the king for his sound legal mind and soon joined the Tribunal as the newest justice.

Capital Culture - We'll put a spring in your step!

8578054235_44bea319f5.jpg
Cherryblossom festival: Involves a lot of Cherryblossoms

Spring has indeed sprung in Kantrias, and the Ministry of Culture was quick to celebrate by launching the inaugural Cherryblossom festival! But that's not all that's happened in the realm of regional culture, as the results for the Folklore Short Story completion votes are released.

The Cherryblossom festival! Birds in the trees, wind in your hair! Spring! After the cold days of winter, it's definitely something to celebrate! The Kantrian fairgrounds are buzzing with spring based activities, ranging from story and poetry competitions, games and chat, to all manner of other seasonally based diversions! The festival is open to all, so come and apply for fast tracked cultural visa and take a look!

The second Kantrian short story competition, Folklore and Fireside Tales, has finished with a bang, with a winner announced after three excellent entries were engaged in a close race for the top spot. After an exhaustive public vote that was, as usual, riven with ties and deadlocks, Cerian Quilor's short story was declared the winner, with Eliora Lockwood coming second and Caldemar Leutria coming third.

Royal Army Rumble - The RKA Takes to the Field

8579144528_8902d08f4d.jpg
Regions, Castles..uh.. Pokemon... The RKA catches them all!

What's the most dangerous thing about spring? Pollen?...No! I'm talking about that redoubtable fighting force known as the Royal Kantrian Army of course! This month has seen the forces of Kantrias aid raids, co-operate on conquests, and generally just remain active across the board.

The month started with an excellently timed series of raids which saw The United Defense Directorate, independent Nations of Minnesota, and Singapura falling in very quick succession.

Forces of the RKA also aided Europeia in their conquest and occupation of the Greater German Reich aligned region Newsman. At the same time Kantrian troops, with the able assistance of Ainur, captured the Region of Discordia. In another allied movement, the Royal Kantrian army aided The New Inquisition in the conquest of Scotland.

And finally The Free Land was captured as a surprise tribute to Kantrias' favourite general, Christopher Bishop.

And that's the Kantrias Regional Update - Goodnight and Goodluck!

Kantrias Regional Update

UPDATE IX

16, June, 2013

Regional Population: 223

Greetings from Kantrias – The Land of the Sword and the Gavel!

Excitement and enterprise abound in Kantrias as the region goes from strength to strength, surging past the 220 nation mark with dash and daring. We’ve seen the election of a super senate, the tying of treaties with our friends and allies, the quest for an unofficial mascot, as well as the thrilling victories of the Royal Kantrian Army.

So read on, fine friends, and discover these electrifying events and others in this exquisite edition of the Kantrias Regional Update!

Super-sized Senate – Sensational Senators Sit

9104160298_65c8b80a62.jpg

The senate sits, after all that standing, who can blame them?

Ah, election time in Kantrias, what could be better? Well a holiday somewhere with a beach would be nice, but hey, this comes close!  Join us as we celebrate another stupendous senate showdown, examine the electric new executive, peer into the peerage, and touch on three terrific treaties.

The race for seats in the 8th senate was the largest yet, with 8 candidates standing for the 6 seats on offer. First time candidates and established veterans alike had a strong showing in the election, proving the diverse range of political opinions held within Kantrias. Caldemar Leutria, Krimson Vulika, Valfor, MagentaFairy, Josh Sebastian, and SPQR were elected and soon settled into business. The senate unanimously selected Caldemar Leutria to be Senate Speaker for the second time.

The senate also approved the King’s ministerial nominations, with Christopher Bishop returning as General of the Royal Kantrian Army, new face Bharat selected to take on the role of Minister for Culture, Caldemar Leutria appointed as Minister of the Interior, and Krimson Vulika returning to the post of Minister of Foreign Affairs. The new role of Herald, responsible for writing the regional update, was given to Lucy Delacroix.

The King honoured Edward Leben, long serving senator and High Tribunal Justice, for his extraordinary service to the realm, granting him the title of Patrician. The King praised his work in several High Tribunal cases and his incredible contributions to the region's political life.

Kantrias recently formalised the close ties it shares with other regions recently with the signing of several treaties. The senate approved the Treaty of Mercia with Albion, signalling the strengthening ties between the two monarchist regions. This was soon followed by the Bealtine Accords, a treaty highlighting and promoting cultural ties between like minded regions. Finally, the senate agreed to the Monarchist Treaty, providing a strong basis for future cooperation with our friends in other monarchist regions.

In Judicial news, former senator and senate speaker Jimothy Wright was appointed to the High Tribunal, filling a long standing vacancy. Justice Wright is certainly a committed choice for the role; he doesn't give up. In fact you could say... he just doesn't know when to acquit! /Puns

Captivating Culture – Contests, Cooperation, and Cogitation

9104160596_591e7dcb0b.jpg

The Griffon, Kantrias' New unofficial mascot! Proud! Strong! Free! Uh.. beak-y?

Culture! Ah, breathe it in! Bracing isn’t it? Well there is plenty on offer in Kantrias as the Ministry of culture conducts a quest to find an unofficial mascot, the regions holds a cross-cultural festival with our allies in Europeia, and the regions finest newspapers cover the recent elections in exhilarating detail.

Kantrias has recently concluded a hard fought contest to find an unofficial mascot for the region. The public was invited to submit animals, vegetables, minerals, Pokémon, heck anything, to fight it out in a series of public votes to find Kantrias unofficial symbol. With entries ranging from Rapidash to White Tiger, Thylacine to Mammoth, the final round saw the pairing off of the Griffon with the official emblem of the Gavel and Sword. The Griffon was the standout winner, but as this was an unofficial completion the Gavel and Sword, that shining symbol of Kantrian stability and strength, is not going anywhere. In unrelated news, sales of birdseed have sky-rocketed.

Last month the region held a cross cultural festival with our good friends in Europeia. This event saw games and competition occurring in both regions, drawing participants from far afield to take place in the fun and frolics on offer in Kantrias’ fairground.

The election excitement led to an editorial extravaganza, with several citizens of Kantrias providing insights, opinions and electoral elucidations. Former senator Jefferson Pierce provided a series of outstanding interviews with the candidates as well as commentary on the final result. Bharat also provided his take on the end result of the senatorial shuffling.

Martial Manoeuvring – Stunning Successes

9104490972_6e9c6b4e78.jpg

Kantrias strikes swiftly

It’s been an incredibly active month for the stalwart legions of the Kingdom of Kantrias as the Kingdoms brave warriors march hand in hand with victory, who is quick to point out that they're 'just good friends.'

In a stunning display of mass mobilisation, Kantrias and her allies captured Juche Union, toppling a delegate in the face of fierce opposition. Kantrias also raided The Local Supermarket, making of with series of sugar based snacks, as well as striking Killaz, and The Elite Region of Global Command

The RKA aided our amazing allies, the United Imperial Armed Forces, in their capture of Josesa, in a sterling example of cooperative conquest. Capital!

And that’s the Kantrias Regional Update – Goodnight and Goodluck!

Kantrias Regional Update

UPDATE X

18, July, 2013

Regional Population: 219

Greetings from Kantrias - The Land of the Sword and the Gavel!

Summer! What better way to enjoy the long days and warm weather than by sitting inside running a fictional country? It's been an exciting season in Kantrias with the election of Kantrias’ first Lady Chancellor, celebrating the sun with the Appleblossom festival, the start of the first Kantrian Regional Games, and a resurgent roleplaying renaissance sweeping the theatre district. So come and sit beside us on the lawn of life, friends, as we deliver to you the highlights of the sizzling Kantrian summer.

Exciting Elections - Close Contest sees Chancellor Chosen

9379111883_096c11de13.jpg

The weather is hot but the Senate keeps its cool

Politics in Kantrias! What could be better? With the recent senate elections and a close race to appoint the first chancellor, the political scene is as lively and exciting as ever!

The biggest shake up to hit the Kantrian government came in to effect with the first election for the newly created position of Chancellor. The contest for the Chancellorship, a role which oversees the domestic ministries of the Interior and Culture, was incredibly tight, with candidates Amber and Magenta Fairy separated by only a single vote when the polls closed.  Amber was elected Kantrias' first Lady Chancellor.

While the contest for the Chancellorship was electrifying, that wasn't the only electoral excitement to grip Kantrias. With four seats up for grabs, the Ninth Senate elections saw the election of Magenta Fairy, Lord Death, SPQR and Caldemar. The senate unanimously selected Lord Death to become Speaker.

The Noble Ninth Senate swept straight into business, discussing and approving the King and Chancellor's ministerial nominations. The King selected SPQR to be General of the RKA, Kazaman to head Foreign Affairs, and Lucy Delacroix to serve as Herald. Lady Chancellor Amber named Caldemar Leutria as her deputy and as Minister of Interior, and appointed Eliora Lockwood to oversee the culture portfolio.

Take me out, to the black, tell 'em...i'm taking part in the Firefly roleplay

Kantrias is undergoing a roleplaying renaissance, with two exciting roleplaying experiences recently starting. Players take off into the wild reaches of the 'verse in Starrider, a roleplay based on the tragically short lived Firefly. Players take the role of passengers and crew in the Firefly-class vessel, Starrider.

Strange mysteries abound in The Paranormal and Supernatural Crimes Unit a roleplay set in the modern day Indianapolis, but with a dark, fantasy twist as vampires, mages, and shapeshifters all live and work within the bounds of the city.

In related news, whispers in the wind carry tales of great fortune in the forgotten sands of the great, glass desert, keep your eyes on the Kantrias regional update for more information on this new and exciting roleplaying experience.

And that's the Kantrias Regional Update - Goodnight and Goodluck!
