Political Events

A new nation by the name of United Federation of Canada caused a minor storm in the WA this month, trying to liberate Gargantuan and then pressure it's delegate Reagan Island leaving Gargantuan for alleged dictatorship behavior. Both actions were not supported by the 10000 Islands Government and TITO. Delegate Anime Daisuki made a post stating clear our opposition to UFC's meddling in another region's affairs. UFC has since left the islands before actions could be taken against him.

Separately, TITO Knight Woonsocket was appointed Foreign Affairs Secretary of 10000 Islands. He will help the Delegate in taking care of the State Department and overseeing the various emissaries.

Continent of Pwned, Antares, Kongregate, Deutschland, Islamic Republic of Iran 3, Blackwater, The NationStates of DDO, League of MPNet Nations, Heavy Metal Heaven, CrazyKids, Silvana Skins, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Middle Earth 10.

- 3lit3 earned the title of TITO Knight upon receiving his 50th Battlestar.

- Upon receiving his 300th Battlestar, Boltor was awarded the title of TITO Knight Commander

- Werewolves 20 is now underway. This edition is patterned after the re-imagined Battlestar Galactica. The Cylons are the werewolves and the Colonials are the villagers.

- The October Poetry Competition was won by Aersoldorf who wrote a nice piece on the region's recruitment team.

Political Events

Two elections were held in November. The seast for Himes West and Lyonesse East were up for grabs. In the Himes West race, incumbent Aersoldorf ran against New Ecopia and Kanaia. Incumbent Aerso was re-elected comfortably, retaining his Council Seat.

In the Lyonesse East race, Calanria running unopposed received 45 votes.

The game featured the villagers as Colonial Fleet and the Werewolves as the Cylons. The Cylons were airlocked in short order by the Colonial Fleet.

Two elections were held in January. In the Blue Canaria North race, Malecia, running unopposed, was elected with 32 of 34 votes cast, or 94% of the ballot.

 

In the race for the seat for New Republica South, Hoodhat declined to run for re-election thus leaving the seat open. Running unopposed, 3Lit3 was elected with 23 of 29 votes cast or 79% of the vote.

March was a very busy month for elections. The Delegate’s seat was up for grabs, as well as the Senate seats for Himes West and Lyonesse East. In the Delegate’s race, Woonsocket prevailed over Improving Wordiness (Wordy) to become the new 10000 Islands delegate to the World Assembly. 
 
In the Himes West race, Aersoldorf ran unopposed to retain his seat.
 
In Lyonesse East, Calanria stepped down after serving two terms to focus on other aspects of his life. In the race for the open seat, Humansanity won a three way contest between himself, NeoYundar, and Javatina.

- Aersoldorf has become the newest Minister on the Council of 9 with the retirement of MinnaCaroline as Immigration Minister. Aersoldorf, who has been serving as the Himes West Senator and running the XKI Lottery, will now lead the Ministry of Immigration. Thanks to Minna for her wonderful leadership and outstanding service as Immigration Minister. Good luck to Aerso leading the Immigration department as our new MOI!

-With Minna’s retirement and Aerso becoming the new MOI, a special election will be held in May for the Himes West seat’s remaining term.

TITO NEWS 



-TITO Battles in April included: The Weast Pacific, Japan & Stargate, Iran 8, Italia 2, Juche Union, Continental Union, The Skeleton Army, Land of the Lads, East Pacific, Christmas 4, Iraq 6, The United Reddit Nations, and Turkish Islands.


-Very significantly in April: As part of a multinational force, the finest fighting force in NationStates took part in a week long effort to liberate The South Pacific. Wordy posted a speech in an award ceremony, but since this is not accessible to anyone except TITO members, it is quoted as follows:


At the end of April 2013 the Elected Delegate of The South Pacific turned rogue. He abolished the regional government, Forum and enlisted foreign support.

This marked the beginning of a Week long battle involving Allies of The South Pacific and Defenders from all over NationStates including TITO. During this time Milograd together with Durkistan and another un-named third party managed to purge the region of 3000 Nations.

TITO contributed Nations to the battle who returned again and again until the tide was turned. The continual effort slowly leached away any remaining influence the Rogue Delegate had until the final day when he could no longer afford the influence to ban any Nation in the region at update. 

Due to the tireless efforts and continual support of TITO among many others The South Pacific was freed during a final liberation effort launched by the joint efforts of defenders and allies.


It is my great pleasure today to award all the TITO Nations that contributed to the week long operation and ultimate Victory.

Heh, while it is sad to see Minna step down, I'm sure Aerso will do a great job as minister.

 

This update's a bit late because our forums has recently undergone some upgrades. Luckily, we still have that amazing colour scheme ;) On the downside, there were a few bugs which came up, most of which have been fixed by Grub.

Political Events 

 

There is a lot of news to report from the XKI political sphere for May.

 

 

* Elections were held for 3 senate seats. The seat for Blue Canaria North was uncontested and therefore retained by incumbent Malecia

* With the retirement of 3lit3 from the Senate, 3 candidates vied for the New Republica South Seat. This was a very long race and ultimately had to be decided by the Council of 9. The candidates were The Islands Party Candidate Tsim Sha Tsui, Valoniah, representing The Defender Party, and Ketab, carrying the banner of the Mayor Shelter Political Party. Per 10000 Islands Election Law, with no candidate receiving a 50% majority in the General election, a runoff had to be held between the top two candidates. The runoff ended in a tie between Valoniah and Tsim Sha Tsui. The race then moved into the Council of 9 where Tsim prevailed in a very close vote.

* With Aersoldorf now serving as Immigration Minister, a special election was held for the Himes West seat. MSPP candidate Randomain prevailed over Olivia the Pig and Duckyian Empire, and will serve out the remainder of Aerso’s term. This seat will be contested again in July.

* With the new Senators, the current Council of 9 is:

In June, ProBoards upgraded the forum and this caused a great deal of upheaval to our home board. As it stands now, most of the issues have been resolved. The Awards system, Taco system and shop have yet to be restored. However, Founder Grub is hard at work on these issues and we anticipate that the forum will be restored within a relatively short period of time.

  • TITO Battles in June included: Quebec, Band Camp.

 


  • There were several changes to TITO Command in June. Improving Wordiness has moved on and her replacement is the very capable Land Filled with People.


  • Tactical Officers Eist and Boltor, as well as XO Ad Infinitum have stepped aside and have been replaced by T.O. Benevolent Thomas and XO Kanaia.

 


  • We should take a moment to remember the service of Wordy, who led TITO through some of its finest hours, including the recent liberation of The South Pacific.


  • We should also take a moment to remember the contributions of Bolt, Eist, and PAI. To paraphrase a great leader of the last century: Never has so much been owed by so many to so few.

 


  • Last, As Senior Senator, I want to convey my fondest and most sincere wishes of good luck to Field Commander Land Filled With People, Tactical Officer Benevolent Thomas, and Executive Officer Kanaia. Public Service, whether as Delegate, a Senator, a Minister, or a TITO Command Officer is oft times very burdensome. Many do not realize the demands placed on those who serve in these posts. This is particularly true of TITO staff. While Senators have the tri-annual challenge of running for office, TITO staff and the decisions they make are a direct reflection on the Islands and on our claim as the "Finest Fighting Force in Nation States." So please join me in wishing all three of our new officers the very best in the challenges they will be facing.
